Bob Seger has racked up a lot of worthy tracks over the years, but it took until 1994 for a greatest hits package to appear. Voilà. The bad news: We're missing an awful lot of songs here. Night Moves is Seger's crit-pick album, and a great place to start if you don't have any Seger at all. Next in the rankings is Stranger in Town. Otherwise, his highs are pretty scattered, which would make any best-of package a worthy investment. But if you want to get comprehensive, "Rock & Roll Never Forgets," "Fire Down Below," "Horizontal Bop," "Her Strut," "Betty Lou's Getting Out Tonight," and "Katmandu" aren't on this CD--and you'll have to go to the original albums to secure them. --Gavin McNett

The Best of Bread

If they are to believed, David Gates and the other members of Bread never intended to become the enduring icons of a subgenre they virtually invented: soft rock. Indeed, scattered throughout this expanded edition of a perennial bestselling catalog album are tuneful evidence of their original intent, as one band mate said, "to make the '60s last a little longer." But it's the familiar, largely Gates-penned and -sung hit singles that remain the band's legacy, from "Make It with You" through the reunited band's last hurrah, "Lost Without Your Love." Though they've become oft-mocked clichés, these are singles informed with a rare, often complex melodic sense, delivered with a deceptively breezy tone by one of pop's purest tenors. Gates and Bread clearly colored artists as diverse as '80s MOR icon Christopher Cross and nouveau singer-songwriter David Mead. --Jerry McCulley

This is a GREAT movie and will love
Disney's adaptation of the beloved fairy tale became a classic in its own right, thanks to some memorable tunes (including "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes," "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo," and the title song) and some endearingly cute comic relief. We all know the story--the wicked stepmother and stepsisters simply won't have it, this uppity Cinderella thinking she's going to a ball designed to find the handsome prince an appropriate sweetheart, but perseverance, animal buddies, and a well-timed entrance by a fairy godmother make sure things turn out all right. There are a few striking sequences of pure animation--for example, Cinderella is reflected in bubbles drifting through the air--and the design is rich and evocative throughout. It's a simple story padded here agreeably with comic business, particularly Cinderella's rodent pals (dressed up conspicuously like the dwarf sidekicks of another famous Disney heroine) and their misadventures with a wretched cat named Lucifer. There's also much harrumphing and exposition spouting by the King and the Grand Duke. It's a much simpler and more graceful work than the more frenetically paced animated films of today, which makes it simultaneously quaint and highly gratifying. --David Kronke

This multilevel class is safe for and accessible to beginners, and just right for intermediates. Three of Fonda's able and motivating instructors teach the 45-minute step class. Half the room does lower-intensity moves; the other uses higher steps and higher-intensity techniques. The teaching technique is excellent: a pattern is taught on the floor before taking it up on the step. One participant does the routines totally without the step to guide beginners or others who don't feel comfortable using the step. The patterns never get very complex, but they are varied enough to keep you interested and energized, and you can adjust your step height to make the workout harder if you wish. The instructors cue seamlessly. Fonda herself teaches the 10-minute abdominal segment, with enough variations of the standard crunch to keep your abs contracting and your mind engaged. --Joan Price

In Search of the Castaways was Hayley Mills's third feature for Disney, an agreeable adventure--loosely based on a Jules Verne story--with enough derring-do to make kids happy and with the right touch of self-conscious silliness to keep adults smiling. Mills plays Mary Grant, a missing freighter captain's daughter convinced her father is still alive somewhere in Earth's southern hemisphere. With the help of her brother (Keith Hamshire) and a veteran seaman (an extremely unlikely if charming Maurice Chevalier), Mary convinces a shipping magnate, Lord Glenarvan (Wilfrid Hyde-White), to set sail and find the missing Captain Grant. The team survives freezing weather, avalanches, a menacing condor, an active volcano, Maori captors, and a plot by a slick George Sanders to steal a ship. Meanwhile, Mary and Glenarvan's rakish son, John (Michael Anderson Jr.), engage in flirtatious feuding. The many memorable action sequences are wildly improbable (all the more so watching the nonchalant Chevalier have a go at Indiana Jones-like heroics) and liberally employ old-fashioned process shots, mattes, paintings, and other pre-digital special effects. The incomparable Hyde-White looks as if he's having fun alternately harrumphing and encouraging good old British resolve, while Sanders effortlessly portrays, for the umpteenth time, his brand of enchanting villainy. Directed by Robert Stevenson (Mary Poppins). In Search of the Castaways is presented here in its original, full-screen format. --Tom Keogh

This sharpener's easy-to-use design makes it a great tool to have on hand in professional and personal kitchens, as well as an easy choice for hunters, fishermen and women, gardeners, and craftspeople. Featuring a unique, ergonomic handle, the AccuSharp fits neatly in either hand to accommodate both right- and left-handed users, and it includes a full-length guard that protects your fingers throughout the sharpening process. Fast, Effective Sharpening To get started sharpening, you simply place your knife on a table or counter top with the cutting edge up. Hold the knife handle securely with one hand. Then let the "V" notch on the sharpener straddle the blade, and use your thumb to apply light pressure as you draw the AccuSharp down past the point of the blade. When you first use the AccuSharp on a blade, several passes may be required to make sure that your knife's cutting angle conforms to the AccuSharp angle. But once that angle is achieved the first time, it should take just two or three brief passes to put a sharp edge back on your knife--which means that sharpening fits into your busy schedule instead of interfering with it. Dependable, Long-Lasting Construction To deliver years of reliable use, AccuSharp sharpening blades are crafted from diamond-honed tungsten carbide, one of the hardest known materials. And because even the toughest industrial-quality blades eventually begin to show wear, AccuSharp's unique design allows you to reverse the blade to double its life span. Most users report an average of five to 10 years between blade replacements, which means that it's easy to ensure that your sharpener will be ready to go when you need it. AccuSharp Knife Sharpeners will not rust, and they can be cleaned easily with soap and water or in your dishwasher. What's in the Box AccuSharp 001 Knife Sharpener

The Blind Side

The life story of Baltimore Ravens left tackle Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) is told in this stirring drama. Lifted out of the poverty of a Memphis ghetto by his talent on the gridiron, the withdrawn teen finds acceptance and a chance to better himself when he's taken in by sassy socialite Leigh Anne Touhy (Best Actress Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock) and her loving family while he attends college. Based on the Michael Lewis book; Tim McGraw, Kathy Bates co-star. 128 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, French Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1; Subtitles: English (SDH), French, Spanish; deleted scenes.
The Blind Side takes the true story of a young man who went from abandonment to success as a pro-football player and treats it with respect. The movie doesn't oversell what is, on the face of it, already compelling. It's almost impossible to describe the plot without sounding painfully inspirational: Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron, Be Kind Rewind), a hulking but gentle African-American teen in Tennessee, gets taken in by a well-to-do white family; the mother, Leigh Anne Touhy (Sandra Bullock), pushes and mothers the boy, who eventually wins a football scholarship to the University of Mississippi. In the wrong hands, this could have been maudlin, manipulative, and condescending. To the credit of writer-director John Lee Hancock, adapting Michael Lewis's acclaimed book, the result is intelligent, genuine, and alternately funny and moving. Leigh Anne could easily have been grandstanding and virtuous, but Bullock doesn't shy away from her vain and domineering side. The football scenes will be gripping even to non-sports fans because they've been so successfully grounded in Michael's emotional life. The all-around solid cast includes country music star Tim McGraw, pint-sized Jae Head (Hancock), and Kathy Bates as the tutor who guided Michael's academic success. Don't be surprised if you can't keep yourself from watching all the real-life photos of Michael, Leigh Anne, and the rest of the family that are featured in the credits; by the end of the movie, you will care about them all. --Bret Fetzer

Cropping Photos, An Easy Guide for Scrapbookers
One of the basics of scrapbooking is cropping photos. Some tend to avoid cropping, not sure of how to go about it. Others may go to the other extreme, cropping every photo.
Looking back at my first albums, I see that all the photos were cropped, often in many different shapes. I would usually cut almost all of the background out of most of the photos. Through the years, as I have learned more about scrapbooking, and gained experience, the way that I crop photos has changed.
I look back at those early albums and wish I hadn't cropped out so much of some of the photos. Sometimes the backgrounds in our photos tell part of the story. I have learned that sometimes, less is more.
There are some good reasons to crop the photos for our scrapbooks. We can crop our photos to fit more on a page, and also to create visual variety that is pleasing to the eye. Let's take a look at some of the ways we can crop photos for beautiful scrapbook pages.
-
Crop for Balance and Focus – We can crop photos for balance. I know I don't always take the time to compose every shot. Kids often don't hold still very long, making it difficult to get that perfect shot. Cropping photos can shift the focus where we want it.
- Crop to Enlarge – With digital photos, this is very simple. Sometimes the subject of the photo is too small, and gets lost in the picture. If we cropped around the subject the photo would be too small. We can crop to enlarge the subject by using photo editing software or at the photo lab before the photo is printed. If you only have a printed photo, try scanning the photo and then crop before reprinting.
-
Crop Out Distractions – Sometimes we want to keep some of the background, but distracting backgrounds can be cropped out. Some backgrounds are very busy, pulling our eye away from the subject. Maybe we don't want the dirty dishes in the background. When photos are taken in public places we can crop other people out of the photos.
-
Crop for Creativity – Photos can be cropped into creative shapes. This should be used very sparingly. Squares and rectangles are classic shapes that will always look pleasing. If it suits the layout, sprinkle a fun shape in here or there to add variety to a page. As a general rule one creative shape on a page is enough.
Now we have looked at some of the ways we can crop our photos. Try cropping very little at first, as you arrange your page layout you can always go back and crop more. There are also some some things we don't want to do when cropping photos.
- Instant Photos – Never crop instant photos (polaroid). The chemicals inside that were used to develop them can bleed out and ruin your scrapbook page. The layers can also come apart. If you must, scan them, print them on regular photo paper and crop them instead. If you don't like the white border, try hiding it behind a photo frame.
-
Historical / Place References – Remember not to crop out all historical or place references. The places that the photos were taken tell part of the story.
- Shapes – Limit cropping photos into shapes. This will tend to overwhelm the page. Sprinkling an occasional circle or oval to accent a page. Use irregular shapes sparingly.
- One of a Kind Photos – Never crop a one of a kind photo. Scan these photos and crop those if you need to crop to fit in your page layout.
- Heritage Photos – Avoid cropping photos taken before 1950. The paper these photos were printed on is a fiber-based paper. Cropping will cause the edges to fray and the photos to deteriorate.
Keep these tips for cropping photos in mind. Soon you will be cropping with ease, and creating stunning scrapbooks.

I believe the new facebook rules allow only viewing tagged pictures of a person IF that person is your friend. Otherwise the "View photos of __(#)" will not be visible to a non-friend of yours.
However if you want to make sure:
Click privacy on the top right, then the "profile" link. Scroll down to "Photos tagged of you", and set it to "only friends" (or customize it if you wish).
After making any other privacy changes you would like to make, click "Save".
If you REALLY want to be secure, you can just set your profile to be only viewable by friends here: http://www.facebook.com/privacy/?view=profile (click privacy on the top)
Or if you want, set it so that no one except your friends can search for you on facebook (that's the maximum privacy): http://www.facebook.com/privacy/?view=search
