Another great place to shop for White Tiger products is Amazon. They have more than just books! The New Zojirushi Micom Rice Cooker and Warmer NS-LAC05 three cup rice cooker has a micro computerized Fuzzy logic technology. The exterior of this rice cooker and warmer is clean and durable clear-coated stainless steel which makes it unique in design. It has a automatic keep warm feature and a spherical inner cooking pan and heating system. This package of flexible plastic cutting boards from MIU France protects your countertop, simplifies food safety, and stores in any narrow slot of extra kitchen space. Though the boards are flat, they have ample surface area and can be used on either side. MIU France recommends designating the colors according to food category to prevent cross-contamination--yellow for poultry, green for produce, and red for raw meat. Once food is chopped or diced, you can pick up the board, curl it to contain the pieces, and transfer them cleanly to bowls or pots. Safe in the dishwasher, each board measures 11 by 15 inches. --Emily Bedard These handy, flexible cutting boards are color coded for different food groups to minimize cross-contamination and to protect countertops. Blue for fish, red for meats, yellow for poultry, green for vegetables and white for general purposes. The flexible boards curl easily to transfer chopped food directly into the bowl, pot or pan.. The Micom Rice Cooker and Warmer helps you cook flawless rice and bake better cakes. The easy-to-clean stainless steel exterior matches your kitchen's decor, and the user-friendly LCD panel makes using it a snap. An automatic keep warm and timer, so your cakes and rice come out just right each time. Also features a detachable inner lid and retractable cord. Stainless steel construction Dimensions(WxDxH) - 10 x 14 x 8.5 Revolver wouldn't remain the Beatles' most ambitious LP for long, but many fans--including this one--remember it as their best. An object lesson in fitting great songwriting into experimental production and genre play, this is also a record whose influence extends far beyond mere they-was-the-greatest cheerleading. Putting McCartney's more traditionally melodic "Here, There and Everywhere" and "For No One" alongside Lennon's direct-hit sneering ("Dr. Robert") and dreamscapes ("I'm Only Sleeping," "Tomorrow Never Knows") and Harrison's peaking wit ("Taxman") was as conceptually brilliant as anything Sgt. Pepper attempted, and more subtly fulfilling. A must. --Rickey Wright BEATLES THE REVOLVER (EDICION LIMITADA) The album feels even more like a collection of singles (instead of an actual movie soundtrack) than Help! or A Hard Day's Night, but maybe that's because every song sounds like it could have been a hit single--with the natural exception of the goofy/weird instrumental "Flying." Even George's "Blue Jay Way" paints a vivid sound-portrait in fascinating detail. (I consider Joni Mitchell's "Car on the Hill" from Court and Spark to be a companion piece about sitting in the Hollywood Hills, waiting for somebody to show up.) And although the goofy TV movie may have been mostly Paul's baby, this album features the two 45 rpm masterpieces that sum up the quintessential best of Lennon and McCartney at this stage of their development: Paul's "Penny Lane" and John's "I Am the Walrus." --Jim Emerson BEATLES THE MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR (EDICION LIMITADA) BEATLES THE LET IT BE (EDICION LIMITADA) Sloppy in conception, and even sometimes in the playing, Let It Be often gets a bad rap. Unfairly, as it's often as charming, well written, and (oh yeah) rocking as the Beatles' "better" albums; it's also more outright fun than Abbey Road, the masterpiece it followed into the stores. With Lennon and McCartney working together on the perfect "I've Got a Feeling," "Two of Us," and "Dig a Pony," it's hard to believe these guys were about to implode. --Rickey Wright The battle of the sexes was never this brutal. In National Geographic's Hidden World of the Bengal Tiger, you'll watch from atop an elephant's back as Lakshmi, a mother tiger, tends to her young in the face of the grave danger posed by her fiercest enemy: a male tiger. The forest is cool, green, and beautiful, and thanks to exceptional cinematography, the viewer seems to melt into the trees as Lakshmi hunts and fends off the stalker. The filmmakers' sympathy with their subjects is clear and inevitably the viewer is drawn into the drama of survival in the wild, even the grim beauty of the tiger's kills. Despite this sympathy, there is little temptation to humanize these animals--they aren't people but distant cousins at best, and their feelings and actions are profoundly distinct from our own. These differences give us much to learn from, and National Geographic presents unprecedented insight into the Hidden World of the Bengal Tiger. --Rob Lightner Brighten your room with the WBM Himalayan Natural Crystal Salt Lamp. Safco Stow-Away Hand Truck 4055NC Carts & Trolleys Studio: Buena Vista Home Video Release Date: 12/26/2008 Run time: 107 minutes Rating: Pg Life is idyllic in the fairytale world where conflict is minimal and breaking into song solves every problem, but what happens when a princess from the fairy world gets magically transported into the real world? Enchanted begins in the animated fairytale world of Andalasia where Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) is destined to marry Prince Edward (James Marsden) and live happily ever after. Problem is, Edward's step-mother Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) doesn't want to give up the throne and will do anything to get Giselle out of Edward's life. Queen Narissa's solution is to push Giselle into a well that magically lands Giselle smack in the middle of the real world--the center of Time Square in New York City, to be exact. This launches the live-action portion of the film where Giselle immediately realizes that things are frighteningly different in this new world and that she is ill-prepared for the callous ways of the people who inhabit it. Giselle finds herself alone on a stormy night in the wrong end of town, but a chance encounter with Robert (Patrick Dempsey) and his princess-loving daughter Morgan (Rachel Covey) leads to a warm, safe place to spend the night and the beginnings of a complicated, yet compelling relationship. As Giselle begins to question the fairy-tale truths she's always inherently believed, Robert's outlook on life and love also begins to change significantly. Parallels to the classic Disney fairytales, Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty abound in the form of a King's and Queen's ball, small animals and rodents who clean house when called, the threat of poisoned apples, characters impulsively breaking into song, and the power of the kiss of true love and the absurd juxtaposition of fairytale idealism and stark reality is hilariously funny. Features music by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz of Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame fame, Wicked's Broadway Elpheba Idina Menzel as Nancy, and even a brief appearance by former Princess voice talent Judy Kuhn (Pocahontas). Enchanted is one of the best, most entertaining Disney films of the year. Taking over from Oliver Stone and Bryan Singer, Gus Van Sant, whose previous picture was the more experimental Paranoid Park, directs with such grace, he renders the concern moot. Unlike Randy Shilts' biography, which begins at the beginning, Dustin Lance Black's script starts in 1972, just as Milk (Sean Penn, in a finely-wrought performance) and his boyfriend, Scott (James Franco, equally good), move from New York to San Francisco. Milk opens a camera shop on the Castro that becomes a safe haven for victims of discrimination, convincing him to enter politics. With each race he runs, Harvey's relationship with Scott unravels further. Finally, he wins, and the real battle begins as Milk takes on Proposition 6, which denies equal rights to homosexuals. He does what he can to rally politicians, like George Moscone (Victor Garber) and Dan White (Josh Brolin). While the mayor is willing, the conservative board member has reservations, and after Milk fails to back one of White’s pet projects, the die is cast, leading to the murder of two beloved figures. If Van Sant’s film captures Harvey in all his complexities (he was, for instance, a very funny man), Milk also serves as an enticement to grass-roots activism, showing how one regular guy elevated everyone around him, notably Cleve Jones (Emile Hirsch), the ex-street hustler who created the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial. Released in the wake of Proposition 8, California’s anti-gay marriage amendment, Milk is inspirational in the best way: one person can and did make a difference, but the struggle is far from over. --Kathleen C. Contrary to popular belief, white tigers are not a sub-species [of the tiger], but rather, get their unusual coloring from a recessive gene. Recessive genes are in no way connected to the plush white tiger, but they still are quite unique in the world of soft toys. Another wild cat that isn't on everyone's radar, so to speak, is the margay. Sometimes referred to as a tiger cat, it's very rare weighing no more than 7 pounds. Margay's make their home in the rainforests of Mexico and Central and South America (east of the Andes mountains). Their fur is grey to cinnamon in color and is covered in dark brown spots. They have a round and short head and large eyes. Reaching lengths of up to 31 inches, their tail, which makes up 70 percent of their body length, is 20 inches long. They typically eat small mammals like rodents and monkeys, reptiles such as lizards, and birds. The margay is the only species of cat that is able to climb down a tree head first like a squirrel; it's able to do so by rotating its ankles around 180 degrees as it moves [down the tree]. It's very adept at climbing and jumping and spends most of its time living in the trees. While the margay is known to be mostly nocturnal is can be active during the day. It's a very elusive and secretive wild cat preferring to stay in parts of the forest that are the most remote and dense. Like tigers, they are a solitary animal except when it's time to mate. Mating can takes place year round and after 70 days, females will give birth to one or two kittens, making a nest for the babies in a hollow tree hole. The IUCN - International Union for Conservation of Nature - lists the margay as "near threatened," which means in the near future, it's quite likely it will face a high risk of extinction. Like so many wild cats, its main threats to its survival are destruction of its habitat and hunting for its fur. In addition, it's often shot by angry farmers, who, according to the IUCN, do so because they raid stocks of poultry. In a recently scientific documented case, scientists in the Amazon rainforests near Manaus, Brazil, heard a margay that was imitating the calling sound of a baby pied tamarin monkey. The high-pitched call is used to fool adult tamarin monkeys into thinking a baby [tamarin] in crying, thus moving them into the same vicinity as the cat whereby the margay will then attack if the opportunity should present itself. Unlike the margay cat, white tigers can't really be listed as "threatened" given there aren't recognized as a species and there are none to speak of in the wild - they can only be produced by inbreeding a father who carries the white recessive gene coloring with a daughter, etc. A plush white tiger doesn't have that problem, although you will find far more orange and black plush tigers than you will those that are white in color. If you have a love of tigers and are looking for something a little different in your stuffed animal, a plush white tiger is a terrific choice. ©Copyright Shelley Vassall, 2010. Tigers are gorgeous. They carry a royal aura around them. Their sheer charismatic appearance fills every heart with awe. Amongst all animals, it is perhaps the one that attract maximum number of wildlife lovers. For tourists, catching a glimpse of this maginificent creature is an unforgettable experience. Every move of the animal they see seems to etch out in their mind for the rest of their lives. And can we forget to mention poets who have been so insipired by the beauty of the creature that they have based a number of their literary work around them?

Tiger Tours India
But why is it that we are talking so much about the tiger now? Well, that’s the effect that the creature has on anyone who wishes to write an article on wildlife! Around the world, there are number of sanctuaries and parks where you can spot this wonderful animal, India being one of them. Infact, India is one of those countries where tourists from around the world come to see tigers. As per census report, there are around 1411 tigers in India. Now that figure might not seem very inspiring considering what a vast country India is, still, trust me, you will have fair chances of spotting it if you plan properly.
First you need to know what is the best time to visit India if it is tiger spotting that is on your mind. Many of the sanctuaries and parks close down during monsoons so you need to plan acordingly. Secondly, you need to know which are the parks where scope of spotting tigers are higher when compared to others. For the first question, the answer is December to May. It is this period, specially till March that weather is cooler in India and the parks are open. As to which park will give you a more fruitful trip, the answer is Bandhavgarh and Kanha. There is Corbett, Periyar, Ranthambore and Sariska too where tigers can be spotted but it is the two parks above that have reported maximum tiger spotting by tourists. Both these parks have returned more number of happy tourists than any other park in India. Located in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, these two parks lie in Umaria and Mandla district respectively and are around 250 kms apart.
Bandhvgarh was once a hunting retreat for the royal family of Rewa and is also famous as the site where the white tigers of Rewa were discovered. Elephant and jeep safari are the best ways to track tigers in this park. Other faunal species that will catch your attention in this park include Nilgai, Chausingha, Chital, Chinkara, Wild Boar and sometimes a Fox or Jackal. Apart from animals, you can also enjoy the magnificent Bandhavgarh fort and Kalchuri Archeological Remains here.
Kanha National Park was the one that provided the famous novelist Rudyard Kipling a base for his novel, the ‘Jungle Book’. Here, other sightings include the rare Swamp Deer. It is also considered one of the best maintained park in India. After you have spotted tiger, make sure to visit the Bamni Dadar, the sunset point from wher you can relish a breathtaking view of the surroundings with grazing sambhar and gaurs.
Wildlife tour operators in India can tailormake a trip for you around these parks or else you can also pick up from amongst their list of planned tour package. Tiger Trails is one such package which I found and thought would be great to share. This package not only gives you an opportunity to explore the above mentioned two parks but also two other well known parks – Ranthambore and Bharatpur. Both of these parks are located in Rajasthan and give you a wonderful chance to spot a number of other animals and birds. Bharatpur is actually a bird sanctuary where migratory birds flock in large number between October to February.
So if you wish to see this wonderful creation of nature in all life and blood, do visit the Bandhavgarh and Kanha national park during this vacation. An unforgettable experience awaits you.
About the Author
What is the difference between a white tiger, a snow tiger and a white bengal tiger?
I am doing a school project on white tigers but i was wondering if there was any difference between the three tigers or if they were the same thing just with a different name. Thanks
A white tiger is simply any tiger species with the recessive white color variant. A snow tiger is not a species of tiger, but a snow-white tiger is another color variation within the genes causing pale stripes.
A bengal tiger is simply a species of tiger that can be either orange or white with black stripes naturally or albino (lacking pigment at all) or mellanistic (black, too much pigment produced) as all animals with those pigment mutations can be.
White tigers have a greater tendency to blue eyes rather than brown/gold, this is due to the same overall lighter pigmentation genes.
In short, white is just a color, not all white tigers are bengals and not all bengals are white, but there are no physical differences besides coloration.
