I don't know why, but most of the time we consult with friends rather than experts, I guess it is because friends don't charge.  Anyway, one of my friend, after I asked, "why is PC slow", suggested I check the computers registry.  "Why is PC Slow", I said through gritted teeth as I pushed the "SCAN NOW" button.  The website told me to wait a few minutes.  Then it came back with its report.  Why is PC slow? Well, according to this website my PCs registry was fragmented and filled with entries that were obsolete.  They had gotten there by the many installs and uninstalls and changes that the registry kept track of.  This was my answer to why is PC slow.

So in my case, why is PC slow, found its answer in the registry.  I was able to download a good registry cleaner and, boy what a difference it made.  If you are asking, "why is PC so slow?"  Make sure you check to see if you have enough memory, and make sure your PC is virus and spy-ware free.  If those check out then run a registry scan.

More than just "why is PC so slow"

Keeping your registry is good clean shape is a good practice.  I clean out my registry about once a month, but if you purchase certain registry cleaning products you can schedule them to run on a regular basis and that will keep you computer from losing its new speed edge.  So if you are asking, why is PC so slow perhaps you should run a registry check.

???i mac g3 questions and help?

im getting a used i mac g3 from some one and i was wondering dose it need anti virus or no.
also i wanted to know if it better than windows 98
i know i know who still uses win98.well i have it
just so my little brother and sister just to surf the web.
thats why im getting the i mac to replace that hunk of junk
oh and since its used i was wondering is there a way i can restore
it clean as if it was brand new?

The G3 is not going to run OSX well. Too slow. An older version of OSX will install, however. It it is running OSX, then care is all that will be need to avoid viruses. Don't download software. Don't pirate software.

If it is running OS 9, then you should try to find virus protection written for OS 9. It will be hard to find, as it is not on the market. Maybe an online auction site will have something.
