Hollywood Palms
List Price: $9.98
Sale Price: $2.88

|
The Hollywood Palms apartment building is managed by aging child actor Clark (Patrick Labyorteaux), who is still haunted by his career with a talking skunk. It's tenants are an esoteric blend of Californians...exactly what you would expect from a run down Hollywood apartment building. Blair (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Jeff (Dean Cameron) have broken up but must remain together for financial reasons, which would be fine if Jeff weren't still completely obsessed with Blair. Between new boyfriend Michael (Judge Reinhold) and a secret admirer in aspiring musician Dexter (Jeff Russo), Jeff's possessive rage explodes into a near riot in the complex's courtyard. When Jeff plans a "surprise" for Blair as a result, Dexter assumes he plans to have her killed and plots with his band-mate Riley (Jay R. Ferguson) to thwart the crime. Elsewhere in the complex roommates Phoebe (Paget Brewster) and Kathleen (Kristin Bauer) barely get along. Phoebe is a rationalist, and Kathleen is weird and experimental. When Kathleen accidentally throttles her date Joel (David Packer), Phoebe and her date Matt (Matt Adler) must jump into damage control mode. By the end of the night, everyone in the complex's lives are changed forever. Some stay there, others show no hope of changing, and the rest move on to new lives...for better or worse.

Classic Drivers Ed Safety Training Films on DVD: Safe Driving School Lessons
List Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $12.99
|
|
|
Have you ever seen video clips from classic driver education films? These were the somewhat corny, old time movies shown in driver ed and driving school to teach former American generations about defensive driving training, driver safety and all the important rules of the road. They may have even been showing these vintage videos when you went through driving school or driver ed. Now is your chance to see all these classic movies on DVD! We have assembled the premiere collection of driver safety training and defensive driving films, digitized and placed on DVD format with full menus for your viewing pleasure. These eleven movies spanning from 1930 to 1958 are the cream of the crop driver education videos available.
Driver education is something we can all relate to (assuming you drive a car) because everyone is required to go through driver safety training, whether through a high school program or an independent agency. While the rules of defensive driving and driver safety have not fundamentally changed over the last 50 years, the manner in which these rules are presented has changed drastically. These films were best designed to appeal to the young drivers of the 1930s, 40s and 50s, so the approach seems hilariously outdated. This quality gives these movies an entertaining timelessness and value that makes them a must-see for future generations. (1) Driving Tips (1958) (2) Chance To Lose (1930s) (3) Live And Let Live (1947)(4) Formations (1936) (5) On The Run (1956) (6) The Other Fellow (1937) (7) Safe Roads (1935) (8) Seeing Green (1937) (9) Tomorrow's Drivers (1954) (10) We Drivers (1935) (11) When You're A Pedestrian (1948)

Classic Old Time Monster Movies: The Killer Shrews. Starring James Best, Ingrid Goude, Ken Curtis, Gordon McLendon, Baruch Lumet, Judge Henry Dupree, and Alfredo DeSoto.
List Price: $9.99
Sale Price: $9.99
|
|
|
Possibly the greatest 1950s monster movie ever made, The Killer Shrews is a cornucopia of ridiculous costumes, effects, and a little Miss Universe thrown in for good measure! The murderous shrews at the heart of the film are dogs in absurd rubber masks, along with polka-dot stockings and papier-mache. James Best, of Gunsmoke fame, stars along with 1957's Miss Universe Ingrid Goude. But for all the garbage, the movie is still a blast to follow as the heroes combat vicious monsters at every turn. The poor people are trapped on a small island, which provides a nicely claustrophobic feel to the shoot'em up proceedings. Delightfully awful, The Killer Shrews is not to be missed by any true fan of classic cinema.

Here are some more information for Vintage Judge:

Whether you choose a priest, a judge, or your best friend who swears he was ordained over the internet; the person who performs your wedding ceremony is no small decision. In some situations you must meet with your officiant for months leading up to the big day. In other cases, you will meet them minutes before the ceremony. Whichever path you love birds choose, make sure it's legal!
The following types of people can legally perform a marriage ceremony in Colorado:
- A Judge
- Court magistrate
- The parties to the marriage. Parties to the marriage are the bride and groom. If the bride and groom choose to perform their own ceremony, they must fill out the lower portion of the license completely and sign as both bride and groom and as parties to the marriage.
- Other public official authorized to perform marriages or in accordance with any mode or solemnization recognized by a religious denomination or Indian tribe or nation.
Colorado is uniquely the only state that allows couples to solemnize their own marriage.
Most counties don't require the officiant to provide their ordination information, however it's always safe to check with the local office at the time you apply for your certificate. Whomever you decide to help make your ceremony special, make sure they will be legally recognized by the state of Colorado. If you don't know the officiant, don't be afraid to ask for their credentials or certificates beforehand. If it's someone who is performing their first ceremony for you, help them by contacting the marriage license office in the county you plan to marry and ask what information, if any, your officiant must provide.

How to find vintage jewellery
A few years Oprah Winfrey has had an episode where people brought in some old stuff they had lying around and had it valued by famous auction houses. A woman had got this simple bracelet given to her by her grandmother, when she was really young. She had kept it for years but never really wore it because she didn’t like the design. She wanted to know if it was worth anything and what she would get if she sold it. To her surprise the bracelet was worth a quarter of a million dollars! Needles to say she didn’t want to sell it after that!
That’s the thing about vintage jewellery. You never what you’ll find! All you have to do is look and keep an eye out for unique designs.
• You have to know your stuff if you want to collect vintage jewellery. You need to know the different precious stones, the various jewellery settings and smaller nuances of design and style. You should be able to tell a sapphire from a topaz and also know jewellery history and the period from which they belong.
• You need to have a keen eye while scouting for jewellery. You should be able to judge the quality of a pair of earrings and know if it is worth the price being quoted. You must be able to pick out flaws from the jewellery pieces as well.
• If you have a family of women crazy about jewellery then start at home. Look through your mom’s jewellery box or your grand mom’s collection. Jewellery that is passed on through the generation is priceless but finding vintage jewellery that catches your fancy is just plain lucky!
• Do some research and locate vintage jewellery dealers in your vicinity. You can begin with consignment shops. You may just find a great piece at an even greater price. At consignment shops you will find things that are donated from the personal collections of people who are no more. Everyone doesn’t know the value of the jewellery so keep your eye out for some unique pieces.
• Street side jewellery stores and garage sales are also a great place to find vintage jewellery. Sometimes people just don’t know what they are giving away! And you may be the benefactor. Make sure you visit sales in good localities; it improves your chances of finding good jewellery pieces.
• Look at auction sites online. You will be amazed at the amount of jewellery being auctioned. Browse through the list and always choose a piece that is certified, genuine and that can be authenticated. There are many stores online as well that offer vintage jewellery for unbelievable prices. You can get more information as well as buying options at a Beaded Jewellery store. For more details visit at www.sbj.com.au

Thole: 'Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee'
After seeing photos of boxing immortal Muhammad Ali in a Northport, Ore., newspaper last month when he visited the San Francisco Giants' spring training camp, my mind quickly jumped back to a night in the early 1960s when a young man named Cassius Clay upset Sonny Liston.
Thanks for visiting!
