Is it legal to host my own un-official convention?

Myself and a few others are interested in holding our own Beatles convention. It would include a gathering of fans from all ages, trading/buying/selling collections of memorabilia and maybe an album/dvd stall. Also hiring out a Beatles tribute band would be an option.
