Their military trained instructors strive to provide a safe and enriching learning environment for individuals who seek flight lessons in York. With a combined total of over 100 years flying, and over 25,000 hours of accident free flight, they have the experience to do things right. Having received my pilots license through York Flight Training at the minimum legal age (17) I feel confident recommending them to anyone who wishes to learn how to fly in York.

Steve Nagorny is the owner and head instructor at York Flight Training, and it was his unprecedented dedication which contributed to my success as a student. If I was having an off day he would take the extra step to ensure I made the best of my flight time. It is this type of personal interaction that makes their school unique and gives students a higher chance of achieving their goals. Most flight instructors only teach flying to "Bridge the Gap" a term which means to acquire the necessary flight time to become an attractive candidate to an airline. The instructors at York Flight Training are committed to teaching people how to fly safely, and have no desire to fly commercially. This means you will have an instructor who is focused on your personal goals and not their own. They will meet with you to build a flight training program catered to your needs and financial restrictions.

YFT also offers a low cost ground school throughout the year which is a great starting point for anyone who wants to learn to fly in York. This ground school is affordable and teaches the basic principles of navigation, aerodynamics, engine operation, federal regulation, meteorology, and safe flying. It is open to students of all ages, and can be a very enriching extracurricular activity regardless of the learners plans to continue with flight lessons in York. York Flight Training keeps their fleet of four instrument equipped Cessna 172 aircraft up to the highest safety standards. The Cessna 172 is the world's most popular trainer, and has been for over half a century. Literally thousands of students have successfully received the Pilots Certificate behind the yoke of 172's, which are hailed internationally for their impeccable safety standards.
