Tecmo Bowl Throwback For Xbox

Do you remember Tecmo Bowl?  This game was HOT back in the Nintendo era of video games, and it has been recently revealed that it will be released in the spring of 2010 as Tecmo Bowl Throwback for Xbox.  It is also going to be released on the Xbox Live Arcade Network.  The ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) has already given it a rating of "E" for everyone.

If you remember the old Tecmo Bowl you will probably remember being able to dominate a game by using certain teams and or player combinations such as tossing long TD bombs from Montana to Rice, or being able to literally run rings around your opposition using Bo Jackson on the Raiders.

The new version will be updated with 3D graphics, and advanced gameplay, but if you want to "throw it back" you can revert back to 2D graphics and enjoy the game circa 1989!

The only thing about Tecmo Bowl Throwback for Xbox is if it will feature an NFL license. This would mean that you would not have the familiar players of today, and would simply need to create a lot of the teams and players on your own.

All in all this should be a very fun game, and if you are an old school Nintendo head then you will most certainly enjoy the nostalgia that this game is sure to bring!  Be on the lookout for Tecmo Bowl Throwback for Xbox this Spring 2010!

What do u think Tecmo Super Bowl would be like on the new gaming consoles (i.e. PS3, 360, PS2, XBox)?

For those that played it and remember it, Tecmo & Tecmo Super Bowl were really good games....for real!
I wonder why Tecmo stopped making the games? It ruled before Madden came out. I remember times, in the late 80s to early 90s, when Tecmo Super Bowl would be sold out in the stores for days and sometimes even weeks because of its popularity. It also was the first football game that I remember having an NFL license....so all of the teams on the game were just like the teams in real life!
Yeah, Terry. I know a lot of people who used to do the same thing. I used to reserve the game days ahead of time so that I could rent it as soon as the customers returned it!

I think it would be awesome...and a competitor for Madden...I used to rent the NES, SNES back in the day just to play Techmo SB...
