Here Comes Peter Cottontail Here Comes Peter Cottontail
List Price: $9.95
Sale Price: $2.35

Have you ever wished for a classic Easter special to show your kids? Here Comes Peter Cottontail is a Rankin & Bass production that bears a marked similarity to the beloved Santa Claus Is Coming to Town. Narrator Seymour S. Sassafrass, voiced and sung by Danny Kaye, takes young viewers on a tour of the mythical April Valley and relates the story of how Peter Cottontail almost failed in his quest to become Chief Easter Bunny. Sassafrass peers into his magic egg, and viewers are introduced to Peter Cottontail--a spunky, ingenious young rabbit who is boastful, is prone to fibbing, and lacks a sense of responsibility. In order to become Chief Easter Bunny, Peter Cottontail must defeat the evil Irontail in a contest to deliver the most eggs on Easter Sunday. Through his trials, Peter Cottontail discovers the value of ingenuity, the importance of placing duty before pleasure, and the folly of self-conceit. Here Comes Peter Cottontail features catchy songs, great 1970s stop-motion animation, and a fun Easter tale. Parents will find themselves reminiscing over holidays gone by or wondering how they missed this show in their own childhood. The 2 and up crowd will be begging for another showing long after the Easter candy is a distant memory. --Tami Horiuchi

Peter cottontail wants to be the chief easter bunny and everyone in april valley agrees except for evil irontail. Peter must deliver more eggs than his archrival to earn the top spot and save easter for children everywhere. Studio: Genius Products Inc Release Date: 02/05/2008 Run time: 95 minutes

The Thief And The Cobbler The Thief And The Cobbler
List Price: $19.95
Sale Price: $9.96

Directed by Oscar-winning animator Richard Williams (Who Framed Roger Rabbit), The Thief and the Cobbler began production in 1968, so it actually predates 1992's Aladdin. Also known as The Princess and the Cobbler and Arabian Knight, Fred Calvert completed the film after Williams lost the rights to his dream project. Narrated by Matthew Broderick (replacing Sean Connery) as Tack the Cobbler, the CinemaScope-shot story takes place in ancient Baghdad. When Tack upsets Zigzag the Vizier (Vincent Price), the wizard drags him off to the royal castle, where Princess Yum Yum (Jennifer Beals) falls for the bashful boy and saves him from execution. Unfortunately, Zigzag plans to marry the princess in order to succeed her father, King Nod (Clive Revill). The Thief (Jonathan Winters), meanwhile, is more interested in gold than love and takes off with the protective orbs topping the palace. Together Tack and Yum Yum attempt to retrieve them in order to prevent Zigzag and the One-Eye army from conquering the city. Despite the fanciful hand-drawn animation, which borders on Yellow Submarine-style surrealism--a film with which Williams was involved--the finished full-screen product represents a compromised version of his original widescreen concept. The added dialogue and songs, which have a generic bent, make for an awkward fit with Williams' more distinctive work. Rife with intricate patterns and M.C. Escher-like optical effects, his intended audience was adults rather than kids. Still, The Thief and the Cobbler is a must-see for the inventive material that remains. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

The film tells a story which takes place in an oriental city from the tales of thousand and one night. It covers the friendship of a thief knowing all tricks to survive in the city and a poor cobbler/shoemaker who has to struggle in order to live. Do you know the proper method for saddling a horse? Doing it correctly is probably the most important part of any ride. Think about it. Tacking a horse the wrong way not only influences your technique but it can also be dangerous for both you and your horse. Here is a breakdown of the safest technique for saddling your horse western tack style.

First tie up your horse and give it a good groom. You'll want to do this so there won't going to be any irritation on its back. Get the saddle blanket and set it high on the horse's whithers. Make sure the blanket should is facing the right direction and that it is even on both sides.

Next, pick the saddle up and set it on top of the saddle blanket. One side of the girth should already be fastened to the other side of the saddle. Now, from the opposite side of the saddle, pull the girth underneath the horse towards you and then run the latigo strap through. The rough side should be facing you. Take the strap and shove it through the metal ring it is attached to. Do this until it is secure enough that the saddle will not fall. It mostly depends on your weight as well as the size of the horse. From the side that the metal ring is on, take the strap and again push it back down into the strap circle and tighten.

Don't forget to take the length of your horse's back into consideration. As you would imagine, horses come in many different sizes. Some have shorter backs, while others are longer. A horse with a shorter back typically has difficulty a Western saddle that has a larger skit. It requires a more rounded skirt as to avoid rubbing on the hipbones of the horse and can cause sores on its hindquarters.

It is important that you alter the bridal for the proper fit. You'll want the bit to sit evenly at the corner of the mouth. Usually chin straps sit in chin groove of the horse, however make sure it is loose enough so that you can fit a finger or two between the strap and the chin. There are two smaller metal rings located on either side of the front of your saddle. Connect these two straps to both of the metal loops. The bottom strap fastens to the loop on the girth.

The Western tack seat should not be too small. If it is, it can restrict your movement with the horse as well as rub and make you sore. When the saddle seat is too big, you can slip and lose control of your movements. Ideally, your movements should be together with the movements of your horse and for that to happen the saddle needs to fit your seat correctly. Following this system of fitting both horse and rider, you should get a custom fit for both you and your horse.

Mig Welding Basics: Tack Welding

Tack welding is used throughout the welding and fabrication industry. Even the most basic welding jobs at home will require you to do “tack welds”.

Fabrication and welding techniques call for the need of tack welding. Manufactured weldments and components require tack welding to hold assemblies and parts together during initial fit up and measuring.

Tack welding is used in mig welding, tig welding and arc welding.

A tack weld is a small weld that is placed in critical positions of a project or work piece to hold it in place, keep it square and stop it from warping out of square.

An example of a tack weld would be if you were making a gate out some steel box section. The first step would be to cut the steel to the required lengths. Then you would lay the four lengths of steel on your workbench or onto the floor. You would then use a square to align the steel into a rectangle and clamp them together.

The tack welds are placed on all four corners so that it is held true and square.

These small tack welds will when you full weld the steel together, prevent the steel frame from twisting and bend out of square a lot more than if you just started fully welding it all up.

Also tack welds are small so that if you make a mistake when you cut and square things up, it is easier to grind away a small tack weld as opposed to a large full weld.

What are good brands of western horse tack?

i have wanted a horse for a while, and my parents are finally letting me get one. i am the most experienced person with horses in my family, but i have no idea what brand of tack to get! please help me!
links are appreciated, thanks in advance!
if it matters, i've taken western lessons on and off for 4 years

please think economically!!

For saddles: Crates, Circle Y, Martin are all good but economical.

For a headstall just find an inexpensive one that is made with GOOD quality leather. Doesn't really need to be a brand name one.
