Here are some more information for Star Trek:

Star Trek Online seems to have died and been reborn. It was first developed by Perpetual Entertainment. However, as has happened recently with many other software developers they could not stay afloat and were purchased. At that time the game was shifted to a more "casual approach" including the dreaded free to play approach. This style, while popular in Asia, seems to only be a last ditch approach in US MMO's to stave off bankruptcy (See Archlord.) In free to play, gamers don't have to pay a monthly fee as in say WoW or Everquest. Instead, they play for free and then have the ability to buy items from an in-game store for real money. This usually has the effect of unbalancing the game, as any advantage in the game naturally progresses from skill based to who has spent the most money buying items. Then, shortly after that announcement another was made that the game was no longer in development.
However, there is now some hope. In January the title was transferred to "Another Bay Area Development Company" according to Perpetual Entertainment. As shown in the quote below from Wikipedia, that company appears to be Cryptic Studios, makers of the popular MMO's City of Heroes and City of Villans. This would be a very fortunate turn of events and means that perhaps Star Trek Online does indeed have a bright future ahead. We can only hope.
"In early March 2008 the official website for the game posted a notice of 'coming soon', implying that the domain had been transferred to a new company and the game was once again under development. On 13 March, Star Trek news site TrekMovie.com reported having confirmed with "sources" that the new developer is Cryptic Studios, as had been the rumor for several weeks.[5]" -- Wikipedia Article "Star Trek Online"
Cryptic Studios did in fact pick up the game and it was released on February 2, 2010. Cryptic studios decided to not use any of the previously created programming by Perpetual Entertainment and instead started from scratch. The game is split between ship combat and ground combat where players take the role of an ensign that has received a battlefield promotion to captain durning a Borg invasion. According to the product page on Direct2Drive:
"In Star Trek Online, the Star Trek universe will appear for the first time on a truly massive scale. In this massively multiplayer online game from Cryptic Studios, players can pioneer their own destiny as Captain of a Federation starship. Or, they can become a Klingon Warlord and expand the Empire to the far reaches of the galaxy. Players will have the opportunity to visit iconic locations from the popular Star Trek fiction, reach out to unexplored star systems, and make contact with new alien species. With Episode Missions, every moment spent playing Star Trek Online will feel like a new Star Trek episode in which you are the star. Immerse yourself in the future of the Trek universe as it moves into the 25th century: a time of shifting alliances and new discoveries.
Join us in Star Trek Online, and boldly go where no one has gone before!"

Star Trek (DVD) Review
Nominated for four Emmys, including Outstanding Dramatic Series two times in its short three-year stint, Star Trek is a true legend of television history. The brainchild of former L.A. policeman Gene Roddenberry, the show premiered in Fall 1966 only to be cancelled after three seasons due to lackluster ratings. But it may well have been NBC's network executives who were the cause of the low ratings as they allotted a less than desirable time slot for the show. When Star Trek moved into syndication, its reruns captured the science-fiction imagination of an entirely new audience, catapulting the Star Trek franchise to new heights. Its newfound popularity would, in the decades to come, spawn novels, comic books, six full-length feature films, and reams of merchandise as fans clamored for anything Star Trek-related. Beginning in the 1980's, spin-offs of the show began to appear such as Star Trek: The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise...
Star Trek, the original TV series, follows the adventurous exploits of the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise as they "boldly go where no man has gone before..." The spaceship Enterprise is led by Captain James Tiberius Kirk (William Shatner), an Earth-born astronaut who often exhibits the charm, leadership, and creativity necessary for the mission's survival. Kirk is joined by Lt. Commander Spock (Leonard Nimoy), a Vulcan-born retired commander and theoretical scientist. Chief medical officer Dr. Leonard McCoy (DeForest Kelley) rounds out the main cast of Star Trek which includes a plethora of supporting crew with multiple guest appearances and cameo roles. Together, the crew of U.S.S. Enterprise seeks to carry out its mission: "to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations..." It's this pioneering attitude, coupled with imaginative sci-fi worlds, that provides Star Trek with its nostalgic allure - especially these episodes from the original TV series, widely regarded as the most popular of all the TV series...
The Star Trek DVD features a number of action-packed episodes including the series premiere "The Man Trap" in which the crew of the Enterprise visits the planet M-113 for an annual check on the residents of its colony. But during the initial landing phase, a crew member turns up dead. Kirk orders an investigation and the crew soon learns that a deadly predator that can assume the shape of any life-form is murdering humans, and the creature now has its sights set on the crew of the Enterprise... Other notable episodes from Season 1 include "Balance of Terror" in which a wedding between two crew members is interrupted when the Enterprise is forced to defend an Earth outpost from an attack by an unknown spacecraft, and "A Taste of Armageddon" in which the Enterprise encounters a pair of "war computers" that carry out an unorthodox form of warfare...

What year did spock from the new Star Trek film come from?
Ok, so in the new Star Trek film we are lead to believe that Spock from the future ended up back in time. How old was he in the film?!?!?! Seriously! If he came from the 'true' Star Trek time-line then it must be at a time after the film Nemesis because Romulas still existed, but surely that would make Spock very old/impossibly old!
How long can Vulcans live?
Vulcans can live an incredibly long time, as evident by Sarek being in several TNG episodes. When he died, his age was 203. Spock was born in the year 2232, which would make him a relatively young 136 years old when his father died. According to the prequel comic book, Spock was from the year 2387, which would make him only 155, still much younger than his father.
