The Wind is like an X-ray with a dark shadow that shouldn't be there and can't be ignored. Recorded after Zevon was diagnosed in 2002 with inoperable lung cancer, it sounds like the work of a guy who's still fighting, but also starting to wrap things up. Although Zevon is best known for his poison-dart wit, he's always been a bit of a softie, too. It's no surprise, then, that The Wind leans heavily on irony-free ballads such as "She's Too Good for Me," "El Amor de mi Vida," and "Please Stay." But there's also a dose of defiant blues ("Rub Me Raw") and plenty of dirty slide guitar, courtesy of Ry Cooder and David Lindley. (Other guests include Bruce Springsteen, Don Henley, Tom Petty, Jackson Browne, and Dwight Yoakam). If the lyrics generally lack the literary precision of Zevon's best work, the songs take on greater weight given the circumstance under which they were recorded. Heard in 1983, a party-hearty anthem like "The Rest of the Night" would've sounded like yet another dumb argument for hedonism, and "Numb as a Statue" might have come off as the self-lacerating joke of an alcoholic unable to deal with his emotions directly. However, on The Wind, these songs are genuinely touching, the work of a guy deadened by meds but unwilling to surrender to The Big Sleep just yet. A cover of Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" is the album's most direct comment on Zevon's fragile health, but the most touching song is the album-closing acoustic ballad "Keep Me in Your Heart," recorded by Zevon at home after the star-studded studio work was complete. Clearly, Zevon survived one hell of a farewell party last night, but now it's morning again and there's no telling what the rest of the day might bring. --Keith Moerer

For centuries their names have stood for mindless brutality - Huns, Goths, Vikings and Vandals. The real truth about the barbarians who marched across Europe during the Dark Ages is more shocking than what you may know! See how the sturdy walls and gorgeous mosaics of the Roman Empire, centuries in the making, were swept away almost overnight by marauding tribes. Witness their bold new style of warfare, lightning fast and unforgiving in its ferocity. Step inside the camps of these nomadic peoples, whose aggression was generally motivated by greed. Yet the same feral instincts which drove their conquests also fuelled brilliant innovations, like sophisticated farming techniques and sleek sailing vessels that redrew the boundaries of the known world. Where did the barbarians come from? Where are the descendants of these brutish people today? The answers will stun you!

All six films from the popular MGM series starring William Powell and Myrna Loy as Dashiell Hammett's sophisticated crimesolvers, Nick and Nora Charles, are featured in a seven-disc boxed set. The duo's search for a missing inventor leads to a deadly whodunit, in "The Thin Man" (1934). With Maureen O'Sullivan, Nat Pendleton, and Edward Ellis in the title role. Nick and Nora return to solve a murder among San Francisco's bluebloods, in "After the Thin Man" (1936). A young James Stewart co-stars. Baby Nick Charles, Jr. makes his debut in "Another Thin Man" (1939), as mom and pop aid an old friend who fears for his life. C. Aubrey Smith and Virginia Grey co-star. It's murder among the "horsey set" in "Shadow of the Thin Man" (1941), with Barry Nelson and Donna Reed. "The Thin Man Goes Home" (1944), only to find crime has followed him there. With Gloria De Haven, Lucille Watson. And, New York's jazz joints provide the backdrop for "Song of the Thin Man" (1947). With Keenan Wynn, Gloria Grahame. 10 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital mono, French Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French; bonus shorts; theatrical trailers; radio show; documentaries.
Almost as welcome as a shaker full of martinis, The Complete Thin Man Collection represents an eagerly awaited DVD milestone for fans of the fizzy MGM movie series. The best film in the series came first: The Thin Man (1934), W.S. Van Dyke's marvelous adaptation of a Dashiell Hammet novel. The movie gods were in a generous mood when they paired William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charles, the upper-class sophisticates whose sleuthing escapades somehow joined the classic form of the whodunit with the giddyup of screwball comedy. Among the series' many attributes, one of its most radical notions was the idea that a married couple might find each other delightful and view life as a goofy adventure together. It is common wisdom that the Thin Man sequels adhere to the law of diminishing returns, and while none of the follow-ups reach the diamond level of the first film, all afford pleasures. There's the cocktail-swilling chemistry of Powell and Loy, for one thing, as well as the considerable satisfaction of average movies made during the studio system: the craftsmanship of studio hands, and a gallery of terrific character actors filling in supporting roles. First sequel After the Thin Man (1936) is very good, with the couple in San Francisco and a supporting part for rising player James Stewart. The scenery moves again, to Long Island, for the rather impudently-titled Another Thin Man (1939), which adds baby Nick, Jr., to the mix (a "bad idea," thought Pauline Kael, perhaps a sign of the domestication of the series). Shadow of the Thin Man (1941) sets the action around a racetrack, and is the last of the series to be directed by the fast-working Van Dyke. The Thin Man Goes Home (1944) finds Nick escorting family to his parents' house for a visit. Song of the Thin Man (1947) engagingly adds a jazz milieu to the Charles's detective work; at this point, Nick, Jr. was played by child star Dean Stockwell. The series stuck with certain staples: the unveiling of the guilty party, a wirehaired terrier named Asta (who became a star in its own right), and booze. When Nick opines, in the first film, that a dry martini should always be shaken to "waltz time," you know why audiences fell in love with these guilt-free comedies. --Robert Horton

Sure, it's just professional wrestling, but this match is different. It will be Bret's last in the WWF, a company for whom he's been the top guy and loyal champion for years. The owner of the company, the legendary Vince McMahon, want's him out, only months after signing an unprecedented twenty years contract. Now he want's him to lose his final match as well.
It's not just another wrestling show for Bret. This fight will determine how his character 'The Hitman', wrestling's favourite good guy for the last decade, will be remembered.
Sitting in a hotel room, one day before the match. What Bret doesn't know, is that he will be the target of the biggest double cross in the history of professional wrestling.
Over the span of one year, an award winning documentary film crew followed Bret Hart. They hoped for an unprecedented look behind the scenes of the WWF. What they got was the most dramatic story in the history of wrestling.
HITMAN HART is a story about loyalty and betrayal, money and greed, dignity and disgrace. It's about fathers and sons, fans and icons, and keeping one's integrity in a world of moral uncertainty. In a word, it's a film about being human.

Here are some more information for Shadow Hearts:

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and for many woman that means some serious primping. While men tend to spoil us with chocolate goodies, and pretty flowers we give them a treat by taking some extra time getting ready. We pay attention to the little details that turn us from everyday girls to romantic women. Get ready for the holiday of hearts with these tips in mind.
-
What to Wear: Regardless of what your style is, if you're a romantic at heart and love valentine's day, you will want to wear something special on this day. So should you wear? The answer to this question really depends on one major factor. Where are you going? Depending on your Valentine's day destination, you may want to wear a cocktail dress or a pair or dark denim and a sweater will be fine. If your unsure about where your date will be taking you this valentine's day, ask them to let you in on the dress code.
-
How About That Hair: Your hair is an excellent way to make a subtle yet special change for Valentine's day. If you generally wear your hair up, consider wearing it down for the holiday of hearts. Do you have straight hair? What about added a little romance to it with some loose and luxurious curls. If your a traditionalist elegant and flowing styles are the way to go. They represent classic romance and may have your date wishing every day was valentine's day.
-
It's the Holiday for Makeup: While you may not be a slave to the makeup day the rest of the year, Valentine's day is definitely a good time to play up your facial features with some eyeliner and lip gloss. There is no need to go all out and buy a plethora of makeup if thats not your cup of tea, but in this case, a little bit can go a long way. Choose soft and welcoming shades that match your skin's natural hue. For the bare minimum choose a lip gloss with a slight tint and some shimmer eye shadow. If you are a fan of makeup and are prone to spending a few minutes in front of the mirror daily, consider intensifying your daily makeup routine. Choose deeper shades that scream romance.
-
Don't Pass up the Perfume: Valentine's day is packed with sexual appeal and for that reason you owe it to your self to dab a little perfume one your wrists before you meet your honey. While it's important to choose a scent that fits your personality, popular valentine's day scents tend to be floral with a touch of spice. Don't go to heavy on your fragrance, the goal is to tantalize your date with your perfume, not send him home sneezing.
-
Moisturize Please: No matter how great you look, when your date comes in for that kiss or for the gentle touch of the hand you want him to feel soft skin, not rough elbows and chapped lips. The winter can wreak havoc on your skin so give it some TLC before the big night. Invest in a moisturizing lotion as well as moisturizing lip gloss or chap stick to make sure your ready for your close up.

Acts 5:15
at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by.
Hebrews 10:1

The Shadow in the Quran:
Two Historical Shadows
The Quran mentions two important Historical Shadows; one of them is the Shadow for Moses and the Israelites and the other is the Shadow for The people of the Prophet "Shu'aib" and their grievous day of punishment.
These two events are not found in the Bible.
The Shadow for Moses and the Israelites
Israelites
Surah 28:24
So he (Moses) watered (their flock) for them. then he turned aside into the shade, and said: my lord! i am needy of whatever good thou sendest down for me.
Surah 7:160
We divided them into twelve tribes, nations; and we inspired Moses, when his people asked him for water, saying: smite with thy staff the rock! and there gushed forth therefrom twelve springs, so that each tribe knew their drinking-place. and we caused the white cloud to overshadow them and sent down for them the manna and the quails (saying): eat of the good things wherewith we have provided you. they wronged us not, but they were wont to wrong themselves.
Surah 7:171
and when we shook the mountain over them as if it were a covering overhead, and they thought that it was going to fall down upon them: take hold of what we have given you with firmness, and be mindful of what is in it, so that you may guard (against evil)
Surah 2:57
And We gave you the shade of clouds and sent down to you Manna and quails, saying: "Eat of the good things We have provided for you:" (but they rebelled); to Us they did no harm, but they harmed their own selves.
The Shadow furnished for people of the Prophet "Shu'aib" who denied him and their grievous day of punishment. The Prophet "Shu'aib" is never mentioned in the Bible. Is that because He was Arabic?
Surah 26:189
But they rejected and denied him (Shu'aib) and called him a liar (Shu'aib) then the punishment of the day of overshadowing gloom seized them, surely it was the punishment of a grievous day
Some facts about the Shadow:
Allah extends the shade; if He pleases He would certainly have made it stationary and then have made the sun an indication of it. Scientifically speaking, the shade will be stationary when the Earth stops its circular movement about itself. In such case, half of the Earth will be day and the other will be night.
So, the sun is the indicator for such event. Who could do that? It is Allah the Creator of the Sun.
Surah 25:45
Have you not considered (the work of) your lord, how he extends the shade? And if he had pleased he would certainly have made it stationary; then we have made the sun an indication of it
All things that Allah has created have their shadows and prostrate unto Him.
Surah 16:48
Have they not observed all things that Allah hath created, how their shadows incline to the right and to the left, making prostration unto Allah, and they are lowly?
Surah 16:81
it is Allah who made out of the things he created, some things to give you shade; of the hills he made some for your shelter; he made you garments to protect you from heat, and coats of mail to protect you from your (mutual) violence. thus does he complete his favors on you, that ye may bow to his will (in Islam).
Surah 35:21
19 and the blind and the seeing are not alike
20 nor the darkness and the light,
21 nor is the shadow equal with the sun's full heat;
The Shadow at the Day of Judgment
At that horrible day, everything is already judged in justice.
Man is one of two, believer or unbeliever; each one has his own Shadow.
The Coming of Allah:
Surah 2:210
Wait they for naught else than that Allah should come unto them in the shadows of the clouds with the angels? Then the case would be already judged. All cases go back to Allah (for judgment).
The Shadow for those who believe; this meaning is not mentioned in the Bible.
Surah 4:57
And as for those who believe and do good works, we shall make them enter gardens underneath which rivers flow - to dwell therein for ever; there for them are pure companions - and we shall make them enter plenteous shadow.
Surah 36:56
They and their associates will be in a pleasant shadow, reclining on thrones (of dignity);
Surah 76:14
And the shades of the (garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility (being easy to reach).
Surah 56:30
In shade long-extended,
Surah 77:41
as to the righteous, they shall be amidst (cool) shades and springs (of water).
The Shadow for those who do not believe; this implication is not cited in the Bible
Surah 56:43
And the shade of black smoke
Surah 77: 28-31
28 ah woe, that day, to the rejecters of truth!
29 (it will be said
"Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false!
30 "depart ye to a shadow (of smoke ascending) in three branches,
31 "(which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce blaze.
32 indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as palaces,
Surah 56:43
And the shade of black smoke
The following verse summarizes the Shadow for the believers and the unbelievers.
Surah 13:35
a likeness of the garden which the righteous are promised; there now beneath it rivers, its food and shades are perpetual; this is the requital of those who guarded (against evil), and the requital of the unbelievers is the fire

You will find some Mushrooms at the base of the watchtower on the side of the island with the raft.
This is basically the same fight as before, except he has a new attack and more HP. If you are around level 7, you should have no problem at all. Darkside uses the same Attack #1 and Attack #2.
Darkside isn't very agile, and you will be able to anticipate his attacks most definitely.
Attack 1: Summon Heartless
Darkside's first attack isn't direct. He shoves his hand into the ground to summon Heartless. This gives you an advantage. You can easily attack the submerged hand from here, and you can kill the smaller creatures for HP orbs. Also, if you're good, climb up onto his hand and walk along his arm. You will get 2 tech points every time you hit Darkside's head.
Attack 2: Energy Blast
This attack IS direct, and much more deadly than attack #1. Darkside releases charged energy that homes in on your position. If you feel inexperienced, and want to conserve HP, keep moving, and you ought to be able to dodge the blasts. If you feel lucky enough, stand your ground and deflect the energy back at Darkside by swinging your weapon at just the right moment. You will get Tech points for this, and it takes a good chunk of his HP away, especially if you hit him with multiple blasts. Try to lock onto his head before you try this to maximize the amount of Tech points you get.
Attack 3: Darkside throws a giant sphere of darkness into the air, causing it to rain little blobs of energy that hurt you. Keep moving!
Remember that you need to win this battle, so don't hesitate to use any Potions you have stocked.
