Footloose (Special Collector's Edition)

Footloose jumps with spirit, dazzling dance numbers and an electrifying musical score. It portrays the timeless struggle between innocent pleasure and rigid morality, when city-boy Ren McCormick (Kevin Bacon) finds himself in an uptight Midwestern town where dancing has been banned. Ren revolts with best friend Willard (Chris Penn) and the minister's daughter (Lori Singer). A treasury of Top 10 songs-Kenny Loggins "Footloose," Shalamar "Dancing In The Sheets," Deniece Williams "Let's Hear It For The Boy," Bonnie Tyler "Holding Out for A Hero," and the Footloose love theme, "Almost Paradise."
Director Herbert Ross (The Turning Point) pulled a winning movie out of this almost self-consciously archetypal tale of teenage rock rebellion. Kevin Bacon stars as a hip city kid who ends up in a Bible-belt town after his parents divorce. An ill fit for a conservative community where rock is frowned upon and dancing is forbidden, Bacon's character rallies the kids and takes on the establishment. Between a good cast really embracing the drama of Dean Pitchford's screenplay, and Ross's imaginative, highly charged way of shooting the dance numbers, you can get lost in this all-ages confection, and you won't even mind Kenny Loggins's bubbly pop. Bonuses include one of John Lithgow's best performances (a bit reminiscent of Jimmy Stewart), and Christopher Penn (who sure doesn't look the same anymore) as a good-natured hick who learns to boogie. --Tom Keogh

Once Upon A Mattress (1959 Original Broadway Cast)

Based on Hans Christian Andersen's tale The Princess and the Pea, Once Upon a Mattress opened in May 1959 and was a solid success, if not a huge blockbuster. It did well enough, in any case, to warrant a 1997 revival starring Sarah Jessica Parker. The show was far from revolutionary, but it provided a really fun vehicle for a cast of top stage personalities, including black actress Jane White, who played Queen Aggravain (a part originally written for comedienne Nancy Walker) in whiteface. But of course, Once Upon a Mattress's heart and soul was Carol Burnett, who, in her Broadway debut created the part of Princess Winnifred and delivered two of Mary Rodgers's best songs, the hilarious "Shy" and the spunky "Happily Ever After," which sounds a bit like Jule Styne at his most rhythmic. Burnett's timing and performance remain as sharp as they were 40 years ago. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

The third season was the charm for one of HBO's gold standard series, which earned its first Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series to go along with its Golden Globes for Best Comedy Series and Best Actress (Sarah Jessica Parker). The writing is as sharp as ever, with more trendy product placement than a Bret Easton Ellis novel and ribald banter that's a cross between the Algonquin Round Table and the Friars Club. One of this season's two principal story arcs concerned hapless-in-love Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and her pursuit of a husband; enter (if only...) Kyle McLachlan as the unfortunately impotent Trey. Meanwhile, sex columnist Carrie has a brief but memorable fling with a politician who's golden, but not in the way she anticipated. She then sabotages her too-good-to-be-true relationship with furniture designer Aidan (John Corbett) by having an affair with Mr. Big (Chris Noth), who himself has gotten married. "Do we need drama to make a relationship work?" Carrie muses at one point. Sex and the City needs drama to make it work, and Parker and Cynthia Nixon (as career woman Miranda), this ensemble's better half, give the show its pulsating heart as they wrestle with commitment and, in the episode "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," sadder-but-wiser breakups. On the lighter side, the sexual dalliances of "rude and politically incorrect" Samantha (Kim Cattrall) provide great fodder for comedy. Like I Love Lucy, the series benefited from a brief change of scenery with a three-episode jaunt to Los Angeles, where Carrie and company encountered, among others, Matthew McConaughey, Vince Vaughn, Hugh Hefner, and Sarah Michelle Gellar. At its best, to quote one character, Sex and the City is "sharp, edgy, brutal at times, always a little juicy." It may be "very New York," but the sex and relationship issues it tackles are universal. For its devoted fans, the release of this 18-episode, three-disc set is, to quote Gellar's clueless Hollywood junior development exec, "chick flick big." --Donald Liebenson
Join Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and her friends Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) as they do weddings, funerals, and Bat Mitzvahs; Staten Island, the meat-packing district, and the Playboy Mansion. The third season fittingly includes a host of "A-list" celebrity guest appearances, including Carrie Fisher, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Hugh Hefner, Donovan Leitch, Matthew McConaughey, Alanis Morissette, and Vince Vaughn. So get ready to cross the velvet ropes and enter a world of... Sex and the City.

The fourth season of Sex and the City is just as smart and sexy as ever, mixing caustic adult wit and sharply observed situation comedy on the mean streets of Manhattan, though this time the quartet of singleton city girls must endure even tougher combat in the unending war of love, sex, and shopping. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) finally seems to have found her ideal life partner when she is reunited with handsome craftsman Aidan (John Corbett). But can their relationship survive trial by cohabitation? Meanwhile Charlotte (Kristin Davis) seems to have both her dream Park Avenue apartment and a solution to her marital problems with Trey (Kyle MacLachlan). But when the subject of babies comes up, everything starts to unravel for her, too. It's not just Charlotte who has baby issues either: after what seems like an eternity of enforced sexual abstinence Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) is horrified to discover she's pregnant. And as for the sultry Samantha (Kim Cattrall), she's on a quest for monogamy, first with an exotic lesbian artist, then with a philandering businessman, with whom to her utter dismay she just might have fallen in love. --Mark Walker
Each episode of Sex & the City deal with the romantic challenges that single women face when they start seeing the big three oh in the rear view mirror & start finding new suitable mates. These challenges are revealed through the eyes of several friends, each of whom has their own ideas on how to catch Mr. Right. There's Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), who pushed the envelope of dating & sex in the name of journalism; Samantha (Kim Catrall), a PR Executive who has seen (& done) it all; Charlotte (Kristin Davis), an art deal who believes love conquers all, despite a tottering marriage; & Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), a lawyer now contemplating motherhood.

Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler, and Diane Keaton prove that revenge is a dish best served cold. Former college buddies, they reunite at the funeral of a dear friend who took a swan dive onto Fifth Avenue. All three discover they share the same unhappy history of husbands who dove into middle-age by dumping them for trophy wives. Forming a warring triumvirate, they decide to get even, and along the way remind themselves of long-forgotten capabilities. The action gets a little too "wacky" at times, but the gals are great. Portraying an aging actress, Hawn is sometimes a little too flamboyant, but there is much fun to be had in her flashiness, especially when she pokes fun at Tinseltown and her persona. Instead of her usual brashness, Midler stretches herself and shows us a woman who is not just unhappy, but also deeply sorrowful. Not that she isn't quick with a wisecrack, but her expressive face alone tells the story of her marriage. As the repressed and guilt-ridden spouse of a self- involved ad executive, Keaton finds her anger, and her voice, when her psychiatrist (Marcia Gay Harden) oversteps ethical boundaries. Watching Keaton grow from an ineffectual homemaker into a powerful businessperson reminds us that it has been far too long since she has done a comedy. Director Hugh Wilson smartly chose supporting players who each brought something unique to the film. However, he does not maintain the first hour's effervescent humor throughout the film, as the ending is weakened by a softening of the wives' resolve. --Rochelle O'Gorman

The story centers around a family with three boys in the 1950s. The eldest son witnesses the loss of innocence. Studio: Tcfhe Release Date: 10/11/2011 Starring: Brad Pitt Jessica Chastain Run time: 181 minutes Rating: Pg13 Director: Terrence Malick
The long front lawns of summer afternoons, the flicker of sunlight as it sprays through tree branches, the volcanic surge of the Earth's interior as the planet heaves itself into being--you certainly can't say Terrence Malick lacks for visual expressiveness. The Tree of Life is Malick's long-cherished project, a film that centers on a family in 1950s Waco, Texas, yet also reaches for cosmic significance in the creation of the universe itself. The Texas memories belong to Jack (Sean Penn), a modern man seemingly ground down by the soulless glass-and-metal corporate world that surrounds him. We learn early in the film of a family loss that happened at a later time, but the flashbacks concern only the dark Eden of Jack's childhood: his games with his two younger brothers, his frustrated, bullying father (Brad Pitt), his one-dimensionally radiant mother (Jessica Chastain). None of which unfolds in anything like a conventional narrative, but in a series of disconnected scenes that conjure, with poetry and specificity, a particular childhood realm. The contributions of cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki and production designer Jack Fisk cannot be underestimated in that regard, and it should be noted that Brad Pitt contributes his best performance: strong yet haunted. And how does the Big Bang material (especially a long, trippy sequence in the film's first hour) tie into this material? Yes, well, the answer to that question will determine whether you find Malick's film a profound exploration of existence or crazy-ambitious failure full of beautiful things. Malick's sincerity is winning (and so is his exceptional touch with the child actors), yet many of the movie's touches are simultaneously gaseous (amongst the bits of whispered narration is the war between nature and grace, roles assigned to mother and father) and all-too-literal (a dinosaur retreats from nearly killing a fellow creature--the first moments of species kindness, or anthropomorphic poppycock?). The Tree of Life premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and won the Palme d'Or there after receiving boos at its press screening. The debate continues, unabated, from that point. --Robert Horton

HOCUS POCUS - DVD Movie
This big, fat theatrical bomb has a lot going for it. There's the three leads, Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker, playing three resurrected witches who wreak havoc on Salem, Massachusetts, 300 hundred years after they were hung. There's music, special effects, and magic. There's a surprisingly horror-filled plot. Whoops, hold up on that last one. It's probably the extremes that this film goes to (displaying a Disney label), such as the witches sucking the life out of a little girl in the first five minutes, that put the brakes on any success for Hocus Pocus. Older children, however, in the 8 and up range should get a kick out of all the weird goings-on. It's a good measure of Halloween thrills and chills. --Keith Simanton

Here are some more information for Sarah Jessica:

It seems like every celebrity out there has their own perfume or fragrance these days. I don't know if it's that they think they have something unique to offer the world, or if it's just an ego boost to capture their "signature scent." Just make sure that if you plan to purchase a celebrity fragrance, that you pay for the quality of the perfume and not just the celebrity name attached.
Make sure any fragrance you buy compliments your body chemistry. Just because it smells great on J. Lo doesn't mean it will suit you as well. Jennifer Lopez has had so much success with her fragrances that she has produced a number of them. Still, Glow, Live and Deseo are just a few. Celine Dion is another celebrity who has done very well producing and marketing a fragrance by her own name. Britney Spears' Curious has also been quite popular as well along with Midnight Fantasy, Believe, and Fantasy.
One of the newest perfumes on the market that has become increasingly well-liked is Sean John's Unforgivable. It's not often that a man can come up with a fragrance that appeals to women as well. Mariah Carey has two fragrances available, but M is preferred over Luscious Pink. Intimately Beckham for Women by David and Victoria Beckham is a pretty hot floral fragrance that has gained popularity over the past year.
Younger girls have gone crazy over Hilary Duff's With Love perfume. It's very girly and feminine. Paris Hilton has also released a number of fragrances, but it all began with her signature scent aptly named, Paris Hilton. Heiress and Can Can are also extremely trendy. For the edgier, punk rocker chick, Gwen Stefani does not disappoint with her L Lamb and Harajuku Lovers.
Probably the absolute number one top selling celebrity perfume is Lovely, by Sarah Jessica Parker. The name just says it all -- positively lovely. SJP followed that up with another popular perfume, Covet.
Of course, there are plenty of perfumes that are absolutely timeless. They will never go out of style. Celebrities come and go; popularity fades, but Chanel lives on forever! Estee Lauder has been a top seller of fragrances since the 1950s! Givenchy by Michael Hy has also been around for decades. Amor Amor by the Design House of Cacharel has only been around since 2003, but is a top seller nonetheless.
It seems that many of the top fragrances are floral in nature, but many include notes of musks, woods, fruits, or spice. Your fragrances may change as you age and depending on the time of day (or month!), your mood, or the event that you are attending, but choosing a "signature scent" is a big decision. When there's no special occasion, this will be you. Your fragrance. If it's with the help of a celebrity, great! If it's a timeless selection that always in style, fantastic! Just make sure that whatever fragrance it is, you love it and it loves you.

The Right Earrings for Your Hairstyle
Are you wondering what type of earrings will look the best with your new haircut? Maybe you’re unsure about styles that will flatter or ones that suit your cut and color. If that’s the case, then read on for tips on the hottest earring trends that will have you looking your best during the upcoming months of summer.
If you plan on wearing your hair up on a hot day, pair your ponytail with a great looking pair of earrings that will grab attention and steal the scene. Try a pair of drop earrings in a bright candy color while you’re on vacation. Or, throw on a pair of safari inspired earrings in a fun pattern like zebra or leopard print. Look for earrings in earthly materials like wood, cork and bamboo. Don’t shy away from textured earrings – they’ll add interest and appeal to any outfit. Even if you’re wearing an evening ponytail, pair it with a small pair of Cubic Zirconia drop earrings. Fans of this style include everyone from Angelina Jolie to Sarah Jessica Parker to Drew Barrymore.
If you love the headband trend, then opt for a flirty pair of chandelier or swing earrings. They’ll add movement and feminine appeal to a basic black ensemble. Stars like Katherine Heigl can’t get enough of this carefree cool look.
If you plan on wearing your hair half up/half down, then pair the style with a pair of long and lean drop earrings that will streamline your look. Or, add a pair of hoop earrings in a muted metal like rose gold, sterling silver jewelry or bronze. Textured earrings can be just the right amount of contrast when you plan on wearing your hair stick straight.
If you have a special occasion and you plan on wearing your hair curly, then opt for earrings that will make a statement and not get lost in your tresses. Choose styles that have a lot of sparkle and sass, like Cubic Zirconia earrings with colored stones.

I just bought a horse and want to name it Sarah Jessica Parker. Will I get in trouble? Can I get sued?
I have three horses in my stable already and they're named Beerwaffle, Corbin's Revenge, and Royal Medallion. My wife named the last two so she said this one is mine. She loved Sex in the City and I think it would be funny hearing, "....and Sarah Jessica Parker running down the track in third..."
You can't get sued, believe me. My wife let me name my horse. My favorite movie is Pretty woman and I love proztitutez too, so I named my horse Julia Roberts (plus she greatly resembles a horse as does SJP). Julia hasn't gotten a dime from me.
