Is The 60Gig PS3 Backward Compatible With Newer PS2 Games?

OK, here's the deal... I've been wanting to get another PS2 so I can play my old school video game compilations such as Samurai Shodown Anthology. I'm also considering getting a backward compatible 60Gig PS3 so that my wife and I could both be on PS home at the same time, and I could play my PS2 games. It just occurred to me though, that the 60Gig PS3 may not play newer PS2 games. Does anyone know?

Yes, the 60GB is fully backwards compatible. This means that it can play any game that has been designed for the PS2, regardless of weather the game is old or new.

There are a few games which are a bit glitchy on the PS3, (EU) but most of them are still playable, and it doesn't have anything to do with how old or new they are, and most PS2 games play perfectly on it, if anything, the newer the better:)
