Although it's enjoyable as a brainless diversion, National Security is one of those forgettable entertainments that denies its own considerable potential. It's a police action comedy in the mold of Beverly Hills Cop, tailored to the buddy-flick formula and laced with racial tensions of the post-Rodney King era. It's set in Los Angeles, where dedicated cop Hank (Steve Zahn) does jail time for allegedly beating Earl (Martin Lawrence), whose only real assailant was an overzealous bumblebee. As fate and lazy screenwriting would have it, the two adversaries reunite as security guards, teaming up to crack a team of violent smugglers led by bleached-blonde Eric Roberts (further proof that this movie's got nothing new to offer). Routine stunts distract from the comedy's mostly untapped resource: Lawrence pointedly riffs on racial profiling, and his prolific ad-libs play well against Zahn's by-the-book straight man. If their partnership had been allowed to develop more believably, National Security might have been more than a blip on the box-office radar. --Jeff Shannon
Police Academy drop-out Martin Lawrence and ex-LAPD officer Steve Zahn, who lost his job thanks to a roadside mishap involving Lawrence, are security guards who become uneasy partners as they try to bust up a crime ring headed by Eric Roberts. Fast-paced buddy action/comedy also stars Bill Duke, Colm Feore. 88 min. Standard and Widescreen; Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, French Dolby Digital Surround; Subtitles: English, French; deleted scenes; audio commentary; alternate ending; music video; theatrical trailer.

A box-office hit when released in 1994, this sprawling, frequently overwrought familial melodrama may get sillier as its plot progresses, but it's the kind of lusty, character-based epic that Hollywood should attempt more often. It's also an unabashedly flattering star vehicle for Brad Pitt as Tristan--the rebellious middle son of a fiercely independent Montana rancher and military veteran (Anthony Hopkins)--who is routinely at odds with his more responsible older brother, Alfred (Aidan Quinn), and younger brother, Samuel (Henry Thomas). From the battlefields of World War I to his adventures as an oceangoing sailor, Tristan's life is full of personal torment, especially when he returns to Montana and finds himself competing with Alfred over Samuel's beautiful widow (Julia Ormond), whose passion for Tristan disrupts the already turbulent Ludlow clan. Under the wide-open canopy of Big Sky country, this operatic tale unfolds with all the bloodlust, tragedy, and scenery-chewing performances you'd expect to find in a hokey bestselling novel (in fact, it's based on the acclaimed novella by Jim Harrison), but it's a potent mix that's highly entertaining. Not surprisingly, John Toll won an Academy Award for his breathtaking outdoor cinematography. --Jeff Shannon

Based on a story by Damon Runyon, this Frank Capra film was nominated for several Oscars® after it was released in 1933 (it was remade by Capra as Pocketful of Miracles in 1961). A tenderhearted Depression-era comedy, it tells the story of Apple Annie (May Robson), a panhandling street vendor who has kept her real identity hidden from a daughter being reared in Europe. When the grown-up daughter comes to New York for a visit, Annie turns to gambler Dave the Dude (Warren William) for help. He transforms her--temporarily--into a high-society grande dame, but not without complications. The film is nearly stolen by Guy Kibbee, as a judge posing as Annie's husband, but Warren William, a John Barrymore lookalike, and dour Ned Sparks get laughs too. --Marshall Fine

In this tale of intersecting lives in New York City, Sidney Poitier plays a powerful Manhattan business executive whose roots were in a Brooklyn ghetto, and Poitier's daughter, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, plays a teenager living in a South Brooklyn housing project who wants to break free from her desperate circumstances. The lives of the characters happen to collide when a robbery attempt at Nicole Turner's place of work, a fast-food franchise, turns bloody, and Will Clemmons, who has helped the old neighborhood with investments, returns to deliver an inspirational eulogy. Realizing what life has to offer, Nicole tracks down Clemmons, and after overcoming his considerable reluctance, becomes his student. That plot admittedly seems like standard fare, something of a Pygmalion in "the hood," but the performances, especially that of the elder Poitier, elevate the film. He burns the screen with passion and is charmingly good-humored as he endeavors to turn Nicole into, as he puts it, "a thinking individual." Some plot developments, thanks to both Nicole's impulsive personality and her role as the witness to the shootings at her former job, provide bumps in the road, but this is mostly a tale of uplifting oneself from dire circumstances, and the acting overcomes any predictability in the story. --Robert J. McNamara

Here are some more information for Robert East:

Kilili Baharini
The unique layout of the Kilili Baharini gives it an intimate and personal atmosphere. The spacious thatched villas are arranged in groups of three or four around a small swimming pool. There are a total of three such groupings each with its own "private" pool. Nearer the ocean is a large communal pool and a ding and bar area.
The landscaping is exotic with many trees and flowering shrubs. The villas are oversized, with loads of veranda space and Lamu furniture colorful with kanga cushions. A high platform above the verandah is reached by ladder and is yet another private space to relax. The place has flair and offers an exotic and unique concept. Most clients are Italian.
Kingfisher Lodge
Kingfisher lodge is the Malindi home base for the exclusive family-run business which also includes luxury tented safaris and big game fishing. The extended British Kenyan family is experienced hosts, guides and fishermen.
The lodge is 3km from Malindi harbor and beach. It is in a peaceful spot and can accommodate 14 people in 7 doubles. The original four deluxe cottages are set in beautifully maintained gardens around a sparkling swimming pool. These thatched cottages have spacious bedrooms with air-conditioning and ceiling fans. The additional three doubles are in the form of a private villa which has its own garden and a large verandah. There is a sitting room and the bedrooms each have an ensuite bathroom.
Delicious home-cooked meals are served in the open-air dining rondavel next to the pool. Many optional excursions are available from the lodge; bird watching, camel and horse riding, snorkeling and diving, Golf Tennis, etc.
Kingfisher also operate five fully-equipped crewed charter boats for deep sea fishing, sailfish, marlin, swordfish and tuna are found off Malindi. Kingfisher Safaris operate their own exclusive tented camp in Tsavo East on the Galana River- a two and a half hour drive from Malindi.
White Elephant Sea Lodge
Classy and elegant, this smaller lodge caters almost exclusively to Italians. It can not be booked within Kenya, but if there is space, they will accept walk ins. Beautiful furniture and unusual artwork distinguish the white elephant. There are hunting trophies on the walls, elephant hide covers the reception desk, and beautiful views of the flowers and water are framed by carved doors and windows. An aura o nostalgia and refined taste pervades. You may wish you spoke Italian.
There are 40 spacious rooms with Lamu furniture and air conditioning. Rooms do not have sea views.
The Drift Wood Beach Club -Malindi
Like its name, the driftwood has been around for a long time, gaining character and some forgivable grunge. It has recently been refurbished and three adjoining cottages with a pool added. This low-key and personal family-style hotel is a long time favorite of British Kenyans. It is known for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere, popular bar and good food. The attractive dining room and bar are open to breezes and sea views, and the beach is only steps away.
Accommodation is in individual bandas. The rooms are rudimentary. Some have sea views and air conditioning. Rooms closest to the ocean are #21, 22 and 25.
Appreciate the drift wood for its character.

Things To Do In Hastings - East Sussex
Hastings, located in the English county of East Sussex, is best known as the site of one of the most famous battles of English history. However, Hastings - East Sussex has many things to do from the historical to the fun filled for all the family to enjoy.
No visit to Hastings would be complete without dabbling in a little British history. In the year 1066, one of England's most historic battles took place here. The battle was between one King Harold II of England and Duke William of Normandy. Just six miles from Hastings in the town of Battle, the Norman conquest of England was won and changed the course of British history.
Today you can visit the site of the famous battle and walk in the footsteps of the Norman and English soldiers. There are tours of the area where the battle took place that can relive the bloody day vividly for you and you will walk away and expert on British history. Following the victory Battle Abbey was constructed and the town grew up around it.
Another East Sussex historical site is the Hastings Castle, which is the first Norman castle in the country. Pevensey Castle nearby has a mammoth history that is said to stretch back 16 centuries. What remains today is a medieval castle, but the origins of the site were a Roman fort. Pevensey Castle was taken over by Robert Count of Mortain after the Norman conquest. He was William the Conqueror's half brother. His renovations to the fortress incorporated parts of the Roman architecture.
A more modern addition to East Sussex's castles is Herstmonceux, which was built in the 15th century. This is a magnificent moated castle and it is set amongst Elizabethan gardens that make a fascinating place to wander around and soak up the English countryside.
Other great attractions around Hastings include the Smuggler's Adventure, which involved investigating the St. Clements caves. This spooky adventure takes you through subterranean caverns and teaches you about all the smuggling activity that used to go on in the area. One of the tunnels is 44 meters long and was used for storing contraband and smuggled items from the continent.
Hastings - East Sussex is a corner of England that is positively brimming with historical interest both within the town itself and in the near by area. There is plenty to fascinate visitors of all ages and is the key to developing a strong understanding of some of the highlights of British history.

How will the Orioles do this season?
I know they arent going to win the AL East but they are improved. They have a decent bullpen and nick markakis is a stud. Roberts is good too. I say 4th maybe even 3rd in the AL East
I agree that Angelos is a terrible owner.
Probably another losing season. I agree with Markakis, and Cesar Isturaz (spelling?) is also going to put up numbers, but that division is just too tough. They are still below the rest of their peers in that division. Melvin Mora being hurt to start the season doesn't help either. Peter Angelos has really done a number on that franchise. I think you still owe Albert Belle about $4 million this season.
