Is Cheating A Cry For Help?

Lately the news is full of men who have been caught cheating. An increasingly common response for cheating among celebrity men and politicians is to choose therapy to help them mend their cheating ways. Does this trend mean that cheating is really just a cry of help and the sign of some deep-seated psychological need on the part of men? That isn't very likely.

There is some validity to the school of thought that says it's hard wired into the DNA of men to cheat. You might want to blame it on that darned "Y" chromosome but it really isn't as simple as that. Back in the Neanderthal days, survival of the species wasn't looking all that "ensured" if you get my meaning.

During this time men needed to "sow their seeds" wherever possible in hopes of being extremely fruitful and multiplying often. They weren't crying for help and they didn't have anything to fear other than Mrs. Caveman finding his stash of clubs to give him an attitude adjustment.

Today, it isn't all about survival but we humans are still dealing with the fallout of the old hunter/gatherer mentality at times.

It makes sense that some men still struggle with monogamy no matter how much time has passed. Other men though seem to be adapting just fine to the modern ideal of a modern marriage and have no proclivities to cheat.

The problem with sweeping statements like "cheating is a cry for help" is that cheating, like so many other problems in the world, is not a one size fits all problem. First, not all cheaters are men. Second, some cheaters really do need help but most cheat only once or only with one other person.

Well, if cheating isn't a cry for help, then what exactly is it?

Cheating can be different things in different situations. Here are a few things cheating might mean.

1)   Someone in the relationship isn't getting all his or her needs met. People in happy and healthy relationships just don't cheat. Something isn't right in the relationship or there would be no reason to cheat at all.

2)   The opportunity presented itself. It's not the most noble of reasons to cheat but certainly one that has been used time and time again throughout history. It's not likely to change in the next few years.

3)   Because there is something wrong on behalf of the one doing the cheating. This is actually a rare situation but it does happen. One of the most common is sexual addiction.

Even though you have to search for hunting rifles ( are hunting rifles rare to find? ) to repair it and the ammunition is rare to find.

Hunting rifles are not hard to find and are very abundant within the wasteland, Mutants and Raiders alike carry them. The standard Hunting Rifle uses a .32 caliber round while Lincoln's repeater uses .44 caliber.

Lincoln's Repeater is by far the easiest and strongest gun to find. Just complete Tenpenny's Tower mission and get the Ghouls mask by either siding with the Ghouls or attempting a peaceful solution. Once you get the mask then head to the Museum of History in Capital area. The museum is crawling with feral ghouls, but if you're wearing a mask, you can walk right up to the second floor and pick the lock on the case with Lincoln's Repeater. If you don't have a good enough lockpicking skill, then train it, and remember to save before you attempt to pick it. There is no key for the case and if you break the lock, you'll have to waste a perk to try again.
