The Essential Parts That Must be Highlighted on Postcard Marketing
You have settled that your next ad is going to be done through postcard marketing. You have made the right decision. First, you have decided to continue with your marketing stints. Second, you have depended on an affordable medium that can help you create noise even in dire financial times. And your third concern must be on how you are going to make your ads effective. How are you going to create postcards that will efficiently carry out your promotional gimmicks?
Consider the following parts of the most common print ads. Make sure that you have all these filled up even on your postcard marketing venture. Through this, there will be more assurance that you have a good material at hand and people are going to like what you will be presenting to them.
1. Headline. The best way to your clients’ eyes is through the captivating headlines. This part of the ad is what people will first see. They will judge the whole material based on the promise of its headline. And you can do this in many ways.
- Provide reasons
- Make it like a news headline
- Make a strong statement
- Excite people with the benefits that they can get with the promo
- Tell them outright about the offer
- Ask a question and provide the answer
There are instances when you can create subheads to support your headlines. This can be done if you cannot contain the essence of your promise in one line that you need a backup in order to be more convincing.
2. Advertisement copy. You are not telling a story so do not provide all the details. You want to sell your products that you must sound convincing. In most cases, the best way to do this is by being concise and brief. You only have to explain further if there are technical or scientific terms that are part of what you are offering in order for people to understand what you are trying to say.
This must include your call to action. After everything you have said what do you want your target market to do? Do you want them to call you so that you can explain further? Do you want them to avail your promo because the deadline is fast approaching? Whatever it is that you want to happen, you must be precise about that so that people will know the exact thing that you want from them.
And do not forget your contact information on the body of your copy. This is your bread and butter. Your ads won’t be completely successful if you will forget about this part.
3. Images. You must use the kind of graphics that will complement your material in its entirety. Choose the best digital photos or illustration that you think will perfectly represent your goals and what you are and what you stand for.
4. White Space. You may have so many things to say to your target market on your postcard marketing stint. Or you are excited about using certain graphics and images. But you must control yourself from using too much of everything. Your ads must contain enough white space where the eyes of you clients can rest and so they won’t easily get bored with too much information.

how many postcards should I order for my promo material for my art fair booth?
I'm going to be in a summer art fair This Year that gets around 800,000 people over three days- I can't decide for anything how many postcards I should get printed to keep in my booth to set out as promo material for people to take with them (with my website and other info on them) any good ideas?
Because art fair attendance varies so from year to year, I would just buy as many as you can afford. As you've probably found out, the more you order, the less (per piece) you pay.
Unless you expect a copy change on the cards, it sure won't hurt to have leftovers that you can use at other shows.
Also, make sure you place the cards in several locations in your booth. If you happen to notice one of your pieces drawing a good deal of attention, then make sure a supply is handy very close to the piece itself. You have to get people while they're enthralled!
Good luck at the show!
