Vancouver, British Columbia is one of the most beautiful cities in North America. It has a population of almost six hundred thousand making it the third largest city in the country of Canada. In all of North America, Vancouver is the third most densely populated cities after New York and San Francisco. Smart urban planning called for more high rises to avoid urban sprawl making it one of the most livable cities in North America.

Vancouver had the distinction of hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics within its city limits and at the resort town Whistler, not far north of the city. Vancouver has become a hub for both the Canadian and American film and television industries. In North America it is now only behind Los Angeles and New York as far as film productions go.

When traveling to Vancouver, like anywhere in the Pacific Northwest, it is important to consider the weather. The winter months from around November until April may be rainy while the summer will be dry and warm. The last time I visited the city was towards the end of summer and the temperatures were already noticeably dropping and I actually had to buy warmer clothes. The city is really great for those who enjoy outdoor activities. There is plenty to do in their parks and forests and most of the time the weather complies. For those traveling in winter there are plenty of winter activities to choose from. Cross-Country Skiing, snowmobiling, tubing, and snowshoeing are just some of more popular wintery activities. The city is also about 80 miles from the resort Whistler and about a 30 minute drive from Cypress Mountain so there is sure to be no lack of fun in the snow.

The summer is also a great time for visiting Vancouver. July and August are the best months for swimming and beach activities. There are beaches in Vancouver, including the BC coast, Vancouver Island, and the Queen Charlotte Islands. One of the favorite attractions of Vancouver is the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Its Vancouver's oldest tourist attraction built in 1889. Though the original bridge is no longer there, it is probably for the best as it was made out of hemp rope and cedar. The current bridge is made out of reinforced steel. That fact will make you feel a little more at ease when crossing the bridge as it reaches 450 feet across the river and 230 above it.

Across the river is a more complex network of bridges that connect various tree houses in the forest, giving tourists a unique view of the forest. You have to take a ferry from downtown across the Vancouver Harbor to get there but it is most definitely worth it. Just don't walk around in Gastown very late at night. It is an historic part of town but there are some shady areas and it has its share of transients. Despite that, it is a beautiful city, check it out sometime in the future if you are ever in B.C.

When in Dare Need, Part I

There is burden and concern in my heart for the people of my generation for the whose demand has always been like that of the Israelites, “Give us a king” and without intention of asking further to ascertain if at all such a request for a king will fulfill the purpose of the “King of kings” who holds their life in the hollow of his hands. Dr. Paul Rader once wrote that, “a man should be ashamed to run his own life the minute he finds out there is a God”. But this has never been the case with many people who neglected God and go ahead in search of the necessities of life.

The time has come for everyone to seek God, not because of what they want to get by so doing, but for who God is, and with eternity in their minds. It is high time for everyone to viewed God as greater than culture and learns to act at His dictate with the preparedness to take a step at a time in accordance to His injunctions and total reliance on the person of Jesus Christ as we seek for our dare needs in this material world.

When in dare need, should be when we are in dare need of God’s intervention and not a time of implementing our inordinate plans to get what we need and through any act of compromise. The pursuit of breakthrough in different spheres of life is good but God’s breakdown in the divine process of brokenness is of important for this actually consolidates the confirmed breakthrough.

The majority of people today have been overtaken by the wind of breakthroughs blowing through the craftiness of the devil. This has caused many to travel through the broad road of lukewarmness in becoming what they are today. Every height attained without God’s lifting is a pointer to timely abasement.

When you utilize your God given potentials and virtues to take a flight to the place of manifestation of your talent, your outcome in life will be outstanding and this will be the beginning of leaving a legacy behind in your generation. This makes posterity to bear a positive record on your behalf. Many died without the manifestation of God’s endowed potentials in their lives. As you journey through this life, you will have to discover how you can take hold of your desired need with God by your side, and without compromise.

I can't even begin to picture Jesus, any more than I can picture God because we have never seen them in our lifetime. I do believe we may have seen them in the earth age before this one, but that has been blotted from our memories. Whatever He looks like, He will be BEAUTIFUL beyond our imagination and description.

Censored Jesus Poster Case May Go to Supreme Court
A legal group on Thursday filed a petition requesting the U.S. Supreme Court to review the case of a kindergarten student’s poster that was censored by a school because it contained the image of Jesus.
