Three girls from different walks of life, Candy [Darling] from high society, Jackie [Curtis] from the middle class, and Holly [Woodlawn] from the gutter, have different problems relating to men. With Candy, it's incest, Jackie is frigid, and Holly, a nymphomaniac. When Jackie feels that the group needs independence, she organizes meetings to enlist her friends in the newly fashionable Women's Lib Movement. They decide to give up men, become lesbians and attempt careers, only to end up either exploited, derelict or abandoned. Written & directed by Paul Morrissey, "presented" by Andy Warhol.

A boy and his mother are attacked by a gang; the mother is also raped, and dies, while the boy survives and grows up a wheelchair-bound cripple. Ridiculed his whole life as some kind of freak by the "normal" people around him, he grows, with his monster complex, to hate the snobby well-to-do who have made him feel abnormal. Eventually, he becomes the world's first wheelchair serial killer and with the aid of a mad scientist plots the destruction of mankind.

Gameplay Like other games in the popular Nancy Drew series, Nancy Drew: Trail of the Twister is a single player mystery adventure game with additional puzzle-solving elements and the ability to read case files, save clues and items found, etc. Players assume the roll of teenage sleuth Nancy Drew, going under cover as a tornado researcher/storm chaser, utilizing the familiar point-and-click game mechanic to explore game areas and interact with non-player characters and in-game items. RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS STADIUM ARCADIUM (2CD)

Four-year career hiatuses followed by sprawling double-albums could spell trouble for a band of the Chili Peppers' stature: consider they'd originally recorded enough for three discs. The restless, trouble-plagued outfit that helped break alternative rock into the mainstream with a potent fusion of punk 'n' funk in the '80s finds itself two decades on almost completely devoid of the former's energetic abandon, while the latter's effusive rhythms are considerably subdued over the course of this two-hour, 28-track collection. It's not so much that the Peppers have lost their muscular, often uber-macho edge as they have willfully tamed it in service of mature reinvention here. The mellower, often introspective, if no less potent pop ethos that characterized the crossover hit "Under the Bridge" blossoms fully here on tracks like disc one's "Snow," "Wet Sand," and the jazz-cool of "Hey." The title track, "Desecration Smile," and "She Looks To Me" finds them venturing further into laid back pop ballad territory, while the tricky rhythms of "Dani California," "Charlie," and "So Much I" eventually kick into familiar top gear on the pop-savvy "Tell Me Baby" and hip-hop seasoned "Storm in a Teacup." It's not that there's a paucity of musical adventure here ("If" and "Animal Bar" finds them wafting into Floydish neo-psychedelia while "Make You Feel Better" seems to channel no less than Joe Jackson) but that it's delivered with a subtlety--and dare we say it?--tasteful musical restraint that's a stark contrast to the band's early, overly overt nature. There's perhaps too much mid-tempo simmering and reflection going on; like most double-albums it could be focused into a much more compelling single disc. But that seems largely beside the Peppers' hooks-over-histrionics point here: an unlikely record to kick back to, and one that both challenges assumptions and eases the band into middle age with an oft languorous, if undeniably savory groove. --Jerry McCulley

Arcade Fire fans are an enthusiastic bunch, and they've been hungry for more music from their favorite group. But be forewarned, this EP was actually recorded and released by the band independently in 2003. The EP is an interesting view into the development of these musicians; decidedly less experienced at that point, the band didn't have quite as much oomph as they do now. When you compare these tracks with their first single, "Rebellion (Lies)" from Funeral, you can immediately feel a difference in confidence, from vocals on through to orchestration. That said, there is still plenty for fans to enjoy on this EP; for starters, none of these seven songs show up on their full-length, so that gives Fire fans an extra half hour of music to enjoy. Secondly, husband and wife team Win Butler and Régine Chassagne's vocals and songwriting still shine, most especially on the standout "No Cars Go" and the beautifully fragile "Headlights Look Like Diamonds." Funeral remains the best introduction to Arcade Fire, but this CD is still a great glimpse of a band with a bright future ahead. --Denise Sheppard

First time on CD for this 1973 album from the Jazz saxophone/flutist. Penny Arcade features Herbie Hancock, Joe Beck and Steve Gadd. Joe Farrell gained his greatest fame with his popular string of CTI recordings. For this set, he performs three of his originals, guitarist Joe Beck's 'Penny Arcade', and a 13-minute version of Stevie Wonder's 'Too High'. Farrell (heard on tenor, soprano, flute and piccolo) is in excellent form, as are keyboardist Herbie Hancock, Beck, bassist Herb Bushler, drummer Steve Gadd and Don Alias on conga. Wounded Bird.
