It is comfortable and fits naturally to the shape of your hand, and provides an attractive and modern styling to the kitchen. Who's Next (Deluxe Edition)
List Price: $29.98
Sale Price: $19.00

|
The success of Who's Next and its slate of classic-rock tracks has often obscured its true roots--Lifehouse, the unwieldy multi-media project that Pete Townshend originally concocted as the follow-up to Tommy. Variously informed by apocalyptic visions, sci-fi notions of interconnectivity that neatly presaged the internet and, of course, an unwavering conviction that rock & roll would save the world, the core tracks of the sprawling Lifehouse were recorded, cut, re-recorded and finally boiled down into a collection that seems to represent as much alienation ("Behind Blue Eyes") and overweening cynicism ("Won't Get Fooled Again") as it does liberation and unity. Aside from Townshend's own self-released, multi-disc meditation on the project, this expanded new edition is the most rewarding attempt to place Lifehouse and the over-exposed classic it spawned in their proper context. Six tracks from the album's original, but abandoned New York sessions flesh out the familiar material, with previously unreleased outtakes of "Getting in Tune" and a revealing, early arrangement of "Won't Get Fooled Again" warranting special note. The second disc documents one of Lifehouse's most quixotic elements with the first-time release of one of the series of concerts staged at London's Young Vic theater during the project's gestation, events during which band and audience would somehow mystically become One. Core tracks from the project are interspersed with typical hard-rocking Who fare of the time, resulting in a show whose focus and dynamics belied something very different from the arena-rock clichés that would eventually overwhelm them. --Jerry McCulley
Meet the new Who's Next, not the same as the old Who's Next. This expanded edition of this classic Who album includes the original album, as well as a second CD of nearly 75 minutes of live Who captured at the Young Vic. Other extra materialis culled from the New York Record Plant sessions. No Track Information AvailableMedia Type: CDArtist: WHOTitle: WHO'S NEXTStreet Release Date: 03/25/2003

Interval workouts incorporate a variety of activities that are powerful and short in duration. These intervals create an anaerobic workout that forces the body to adjust to variations of intensity and motion. Interval training has the real potential to burn fat and build strength. The Firm: Body Sculpting Basics utilizes these same aerobic and anaerobic components to create a 60-minute workout that promotes strength and stamina. Instructor Susan Harris presents simple dance-style aerobic combinations and weightlifting techniques that are sure to make you break a sweat. This video is somewhat dated (lots of '80s-style leg warmers and traditional dance aerobic movements), but the content is so stellar that it would more appropriately be coined as a fitness classic. Pliés, squats, and split-leg lunges work the major muscles of the lower body, while lateral raises, curls, and push-ups concentrate on the upper body. Light weights (5 to 8 pounds) are used throughout this workout, and a set of ankle weights may be helpful if you are looking for a challenge. Cueing comes quickly and Harris does not give much information on form or body alignment. Therefore, beginners should watch the informational portion of this video (the segment immediately before the workout) in order to train as confidently and safely as possible. This is a brilliantly designed program that merges weight training and cardio in an effective and approachable (not to mention quick) package. --Olivia Voigts

It’s said that the original is the greatest, and there can be no more vivid proof than Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first and indisputably best of the initial three Indiana Jones adventures cooked up by the dream team of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. Expectations were high for this 1981 collaboration between the two men, who essentially invented the box office blockbuster with â70s efforts like Jaws and Star Wars, and Spielberg (who directed) and Lucas (who co-wrote the story and executive produced) didn’t disappoint. This wildly entertaining film has it all: non-stop action, exotic locations, grand spectacle, a hero for the ages, despicable villains, a beautiful love interest, humor, horror⦠not to mention lots of snakes. And along with all the bits that are so familiar by now--Indy (Harrison Ford) running from the giant boulder in a cave, using his pistol instead of his trusty whip to take out a scimitar-wielding bad guy, facing off with a hissing cobra, and on and on--there’s real resonance in a potent storyline that brings together a profound religious-archaeological icon (the Ark of the Covenant, nothing less than "a radio for speaking to God") and the 20th century’s most infamous criminals (the Nazis). Now that’s entertainment. --Sam Graham

A sudsy second cousin to exotic-locale thrillers like Charade, Franklin J. Schaffner's Sphinx offers a pleasant popcorn blend of old-school serial excitement and paperback-novel romance. Lesley-Anne Down (looking lovely as always) is top-billed as an archaeologist searching for the lost (and cursed, naturally) tomb of a king in Egypt. After witnessing the murder of a local expert (John Gielgud), Down becomes the target of assassins; Frank Langella is on hand as a handsome stranger who generates sparks with the good doctor as he attempts to help her locate the tomb. The Egyptian locations provide a picturesque backdrop for this film adaptation of the serviceable novel by Robin Cook; the cast (which includes John Rhys-Davies, who returned to the region that same year in Raiders of the Lost Ark) is also attractive and definitely game to navigate the story's pulpy machinery. --Paul Gaita
An archaeologist travels to the Egyptian pyramids to search for treasure and finds herself embroiled in a murder mystery.

We think they call it "Legend" for good reason: You'd be hard pressed to pack this many tools into the space that the Gerber Legend takes up. Inside this impressive little package, you'll have access to no fewer than 12 tools, including tungsten carbide-steel blades. All the hardware is stainless steel, mounted on a nickel-coated die-cast aluminum handle set that feels like it was made for your hand. The zirconium nitride hard wire cutter insert has three edges, and it's replaceable, so you'll never be without a laser-sharp edge. The Legend includes the wire cutter, a combination edge and serrated drop-point knife blade, scissors, can opener, hack saw, Phillips, small, medium, and large screwdrivers. Each stainless-steel component snaps into place with a solid locking system. We think it's the perfect pocket tool. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!: The Complete First and Second Seasons

Chuck Jones and other great studio animators sneered at the cheap look and lazy craftsmanship of Hanna Barbera's television cartoons in the 1960s, but there's no question HB's original, 35-year-old Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! is enduringly beloved. The Complete First and Second Seasons includes all 25 stories first broadcast from September '69 to October '71, a growth period in which canine hero Scooby's voice (by Don Messick, who also voiced The Jetsons's pup, Astro) was gradually refined from murky garble to Scoob's more familiar, "Rrroowwrr"-inflected, human-like speech. This set also represents the pre-frills Scooby-Doo: no guest appearances by Don Knotts or Batman, no Scrappy-Doo--just adventure and occasional bubblegum pop tunes by Danny Janssen and sundry co-writers (e.g., "Pretty Mary Sunlite" in the episode "Don't Fool with a Phantom"). Watching all the shows back-to-back reveals evolving complexity in the scripts. Over time, Scooby-Doo's creators added multiple bad guys in cahoots with major villains, and developed sub-plots, backstories, and even appealing allies and friends of Mystery, Inc., a traveling band of young debunkers of supernatural phenomena. Riding around in their psychedelic Mystery Van, preppie leader Fred and his friends--haughty Daphne, brainy Velma, quasi-hippie Shaggy, and Shaggy's best pal, Scooby, an excitable Great Dane--chase down and are chased by alleged ghouls who generally turn out to be venal humans running various scams. Included here is Scooby-Doo's premiere, "What a Night for a Knight," in which the gang looks into the disappearance of a noted archaeologist and end up in a "haunted" museum. The fun "Go Away Ghost Ship" finds our heroes helping a shipping company daunted by the apparent ghost of pirate Red Beard, while the silly classic "A Tiki Scare Is No Fair" concerns a Hawaiian vacation for Mystery, Inc. disrupted by a witch doctor. --Tom Keogh
All 25 episodes from the original "Scooby-Doo" series--including "What a Night for a Knight," "Never Ape an Ape Man," "Spooky Space Kook," "Jeepers! It's the Creeper!," and "Don't Fool with a Phantom"--are included in a four-disc set. 10 3/4 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English, French, Spanish; featurettes; music video; more. **25 episodes on 4 discs. 10 3/4 hrs.**

All Dogs Go to Heaven

All Dogs Go To Heaven is a musical, animated exploration of the fundamental conflict between good and bad and of the notions of caring and friendship. While all dogs may be welcome in heaven, the open admission policy doesn't necessarily ensure that a dog is worthy of, or even ready to accept his heavenly blessing. When criminal dog Charlie Barker (Burt Reynolds) and his sidekick Itchy (Dom DeLuise) escape from the dog pound, it isn't long before they realize that former business partner-in-crime Carface (Vic Taybak) has turned against them. Carface puts a permanent end to the partnership by killing Charlie, but Charlie ascends to heaven only to spurn his promised life devoid of surprises and fight to return to a life of vengeance, danger, and adventure on earth. When Charlie realizes that Carface has been using the animal-talking talents of young orphan girl named Anne-Marie (Judith Barsi) to further the success of his gambling business, Charlie steals her away and starts his own lucrative business venture. Charlie and Anne-Marie begin to become friends, but Anne-Marie's strong sense of what is right conflicts with Charlie's complete lack of moral standards and puts their friendship at risk. Worse, Charlie's quest for revenge threatens his own life as well as the lives of his friends Anne-Marie and Itchy. (Ages 6 and older) --Tami Horiuchi
An amiable, streetwise mutt returns to Earth to get even with the gamblers who rubbed him out and winds up helping a poor orphan girl along the way in this charming animated fable from Don Bluth (``The Land Before Time''). Burt Reynolds, Loni Anderson and Dom DeLuise lend their voices to the canine caper. 85 min. Standard; Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital stereo, French Dolby Digital stereo; Subtitles: Spanish, French; theatrical trailer; scene access.

Here are some more information for Old Vic:

London: The Theatre of Dreams
From the gates of Buckingham Palace to the magnificent Houses of Parliament, London is one of the world’s leading cities for culture, history and anything else one could ever associate with a true global city.
However, what brings many visitors to London is the nightlife. The abundance of fine restaurants, bars and nightclubs draws crowds to the metropolis in their hordes, whilst the bright lights, big city vibe of Piccadilly Circus is London’s very own answer to New York’s Times Square
Indeed, the comparison with New York doesn’t end with bright neon-lit advertising and video displays. Piccadilly Circus is situated in London’s West End area, or ‘Theatreland’ as it’s also known. Along with New York’s Broadway, West End theatre is widely regarded as having the best live performance theatre in the English-speaking world.
Drawing in up to fifteen million people each year, the most famous theatres in London’s West End are located in Drury Lane, Shaftsbury Avenue and The Strand, with as many as forty different theatres open at any one time, staging everything from timeless classics, musicals, comedy and contemporary plays.
To demonstrate how highly regarded and ‘in-demand’ London’s Theatreland district is, it’s probably worth pointing out a few interesting statistics about the longevity of some of the shows.
Agatha Christie’s play ‘The Mousetrap’ is the longest running play in the world, having been performed at the Ambassador’s Theatre from 1952 to 1974, then moving next door to the St. Martin’s Theatre from 1974 until today.
Similarly, a number of other well-renowned plays such as Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Blood Brothers, Cats and the Woman in Black are all well into their third decade in the theatres of London’s West End.
Of course, London’s live performance scene isn’t restricted to the Theatreland district. For those who are seeking a little more artistic prestige, then there are many non-commercial theatres worth exploring in other areas too, such as the Old Vic, the Young Vic, the Royal Court Theatre and the Almeida Theatre.
Perhaps one of the more interesting venues though is Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, a modern reconstruction of the original Globe Theatre, which was conceived of and built by William Shakespeare’s playing company in the late sixteenth century. Today, the Globe Theatre plays host to countless live performances of Shakespeare classics, making it the highlight of any theatre tour of London.
So London, it would seem, is one of the top destinations in the world for those seeking a variety of live performances. Every genre imaginable can be enjoyed, and with some shows continuing for over four decades without a break, it’s easy to see why the London theatre scene is held in such high regard.
