Another great place to shop for Nintendo Controller products is Amazon. They have more than just books! Here are some more information for Nintendo Controller: The Wii as Nintendo would have us pronounce their newest game console, is tiny. About the same size as 3 DVD cases stood beside each other, or 2" x 2" x 9" approx. It has a front-loading disc assembly able to take not only regular size CD's and Wii discs but the smaller Gamecube sized ones also. Driven by a PowerPC processor made by IBM, the Wii is not really that much more powerful than the Gamecube it's replacing. It has a newly developed onboard graphics engine made by ATI along with 512mb flash memory for storage of games. Plus you can connect an external memory card for more storage. The Wii has built-in bluetooth enabling up to 4 cordless wii controllers to be used at once, along with 4 Gamecube controller jacks along the top of the unit for corded play. It has 2 USB ports for additional peripherals, along with two Gamecube memory card ports so you can load and possibly save gamecube games to and from the Wii. For internet access, there is a USB - Ethernet adapter available that will give the Wii network capability if you want to access online features. The output is composite, component, or S-Video with 480p and 16:9 widescreen compatibility for big screen and hi-definition TV play Although the Wii can take a standard CD - it will NOT playback DVD, unless Nintendo is going to change things at the last moment. This seems to be a failure as all of the other consoles can do DVD playback. This may be a marketing ploy for Nintendo as they are not making the Wii a home entertainment center, but a home gaming center. I'd like DVD playback for the Wii - it makes sense - but I'm not building the toy. Two things really stand out for the Wii securing a big future quite quickly. Backwards-Compatablity The Wii is built to be able to load both it's own games, and any Gamecube game. It's slot-disc loader can take both sizes, which is a first for game consoles and may be a mixed bag if the slot-loading mechanism can get easily fouled. The Wii Remote This is the really cool part of the entire new console. A completely cordless, motion-controlled remote that knows how you are moving it and can translate that movement on-screen to the game so you can use it as a baton for concerts, a sword or staff for battle, a gun for shooting, a laser-pointer for targeting, whatever you can think of as a controller, the Wii remote can be it. The games coming for the Wii look to be quite good - especially having access to the classic Nintendo games through the downloadable Virtual Console channel on the console. At release, Nintendo expects to have Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, Mario Bro's, Super Mario World, and Mario 64 available for immediate download at a small fee. Overall, the Wii looks very good and we await it with expectations. Having children makes the Wii a much more valuable game system due to Nintendo's commitment to children being able to play games targeted for them. The Wii looks to be the Revolution that it has become. http://www.tvstocksonline.com The world's first fully developed television stock market simulator. totally functional with live data from nielson figures and user interactions. Join the growing fantasy market, share your opinions on current TV and see if you can pick the winners and losers out of the current Primetime TV lineups With a price tag of $250 or less, Nintendo's Wii is reputed to be cheaper than most seventh generation game consoles. It also aims for a wider market demographic than its competitors. Hence, it is equipped with the capacity to be compatible with other platforms including the Internet. Coming at only a few millimeters in height and width, the Wii is the smallest game console to ever rollout from Nintendo. And at only 2.7 pounds, it is the lightest among the present game consoles on the market. What's more, the Wii can be placed in a horizontal or a vertical orientation; so there is no reason for you not to find a perfect space and position to keep it. While the best features it may have to offer are its ability to receive messages and updates online via WiiConnect24 and its low electrical consumption, the following are some more of the unique features that Wii has to offer. One-Handed Controller A striking feature about Nintendo's Wii is the remote controller that can be used with only one hand. The controller makes use of infrared sensors and accelerometers that are super sensitive to the user's movements and can detect the way it is positioned in a three dimensional platform. With this controller, a gamer can play using his or her movements rather than mere button-pressing. The controller also features force feedback technology wherein players can feel vibrations to better simulate the game being played in a real world scenario. Best of all, Wii controller has an internal speaker that enhances the feel of the game being played. Wii also comes with a nunchuk unit for that more traditional touch of an analog stick and trigger buttons. Equipped with Bluetooth, the Wii controller is connected to the console without the limitations posed by cords. And it can also be connected to other devices thru a port located under the controller. Retro-Compatibility Wii offers retro or backward compatibility with Nintendo GameCube software and some hardware. This means you can enjoy GameCube games on your Wii. The console comes with four GameCube controller panels as the Wii remote controller can't be used for GameCube games. It also has a slot for GameCube memory cards if you want to save games. Parental Restrictions The Wii console comes equipped with parental control capability. Parents can prohibit very young kids from playing games with unsuitable contents. Wii automatically checks the content rating of games being played. If a game doesn't meet the restrictions set, Wii won't load the game unless an override password is keyed in. Buy a Nintendo Wii It was called "Nintendo Revolution". Nintendo Wii is the Nintendo Version that plays NTSC and encodes any disc format. With its cool look, the latest Japanese console is made of top-notch materials and comes with a compact, witty design. Nintendo has taken on the approach of improving its entire system and not just taking from what their competition released. The Nintendo Wii controller that is special-motion sensitive. The difference is that you can punch, drive or strike a sword by turning your wrist instead of pushing the button. Its size is three DVD cases piled atop another. It is available in a silver stand, enabling the system to be displayed horizontally or vertically. If you have been a Nintendo fan over the years, this console can play games compatible with the Nintendo GameCube. It can also download fan-favorite titles from the past 20 years for Nintendo 64 and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). The Wii costs at around $250. This rate is cheaper than the Microsoft Xbox 360 and way cheaper than Sony PlayStation 3. The packaging of the Nintendo Wii includes a sports game that is quite addictive. That alone will let you feel first-hand what the system's controller is all about. In recent news, Nintendo Wii has outsold Sony's PlayStation 3. Both components were released toward the end of the year (the former was available mid-November while the latter in mid-December). There was a speculation that PlayStation 3 will be the best-selling game console all over the world. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Nintendo has managed to ship 4 million Wii's worldwide on December 31. That is twice the number of PlayStation 3's promised to deliver. As 2006 closed down, Nintendo had already sold 600,000 Wii eight days after it debuted on November 19. It could be the price. Nintendo Wii can be purchased at $250 whereas a Sony PlayStation 3 costs $600. If all these have sparked your interest, you can buy Nintendo Wii in your local stores. You can also buy them online :www.amazon.com and www.bestbuy.com. You can compare prices from one store to another. Some sell them cheaper than the standard price. By buying it on eBay, you also get a discount. That depends though whether you're willing to go for a second-hand console. However anyway you decide to get it, seems like Nintendo has managed to do well with this system. The Wii can play all of the Gamecube games, work with the Gamecube memory cards, and also allow you to use Gamecube controllers.
For affordability, this means people who have spent a bunch on their GC hardware can use some of it with the wii - and not have to go out and buy the new console, plus controllers, plus memory, etc. For the family group the Wii is targeting, this is a smart move.
The Wii remote runs off standard AA batteries and according to the specifications, a pair of batteries can run the controller for 30 hours under full use, or 60 hours on standby. Not too bad for cordless with force-feedback capability and long-term memory storage on the controller.
Each remote can store a Mii avatar, which is designed on the Wii and can be transported to different Wii consoles for gameplay among friends. Some games will use the Mii avatar as the player's onscreen character.
The remote also has a built-in speaker that will be integrated into some games to provide more realistic sound for gameplay, such as stringing and shooting an arrow from a bow.
