Recipe card organizing?

Hi! I finally got all my recipes onto iindex cards last night (they were all jumbled up on yellowy paper/mag clippings) but now I'm not sure how to organize them properly. My recipe box has A-Z dividers, do you alphabetize by title or the recipe or category? Like coffee cake, would you put it under C or B because it's a breakfast category? Also, do you keep your recipes in anything other than a typical recipe box? Mine tend to fall in the box and lie flat instead of standing up inside the box, I'm thinking a book type might be better, anyway that I can make my own recipe book? Thanks alot for any ideas you have:)

I have a 3 ring binder with categories (i.e. candy,cookies,cakes, breakfast, main meals, snacks, kids, and seperate for holidays) and sheet protectors to keep the pages clean. This is what works best for me. I also have some of the same receipes in defferent categories. All of my cookie recipes are in the cookie section, but then some are also in Christmas. That way in Dec, when I start baking I skip to the Christmas section and don't have to thumb through everything for the right recipe.

I am not an alphabetical person either, I put the recipes in order of favorites. I also keep a folder of recipes I would like to try and if my family likes them, the get put into the binder.
