Do you usually wait, or buy on or around the date of release of a new console or video game?

I always wait until the prices get pretty low on consoles and video games as well (although sometimes it depends with games). I wait not only because of the high price, but all the problems that the new consoles have when they first come out. I'll buy it until the problems are all fixed. It's always a very long wait, however.

Depends on how bad I want it, what launch titles are available, and what kind of rep the company has. I waited until my XBOX was useless to replace it with a 360- Still no RRoD on mine, the Wii I wanted right away, so I had it within a week of launch. PS2- money wasn't available so I held off until I'd decided to buy a DVD player. Of course with the problems I had with my PS2 & Sony customer service- I've decided to wait a little longer on a PS3. Portable systems I usually wait a year or so for the good games.

Gamewise it depends on the title. I'm still meaning to pick up Dynasty Warriors 6, MP: Trilogy & Arkham Asylum, but had Marvel v Capcom 2 the day it was relased on XBLA.
