Fashionable Russian Tennis Stars cause a Racquet

As it starts to get cold this winter let's warm our hands up as we think of the fashion, glamour and beauty that Russia's tennis stars will bring to Wimbledon this coming summer. Last year the WTA tour boasted four hot Russians in the top 10 and the number stunning Russian women entering the higher echelons of world tennis is set to grow. These leggy blonde girls bring serious style to the courts, and not just in the sporting sense.

Fashion isn't new on the tennis courts. Many years ago Rene Lacoste and Fred Perry captivated the masses at Wimbledon, and not just because of their tennis strokes. Their fashion sense helped them win over the crowds, and this helped them during matches, because the crowds simply loved their flamboyant clothing. Today things are just the same. Many female tennis players would look at home on a Milan cat-walk, and so as well as improving their ground strokes- they improve their fashion sense.

Hot Russian blonde Maria Sharapova undoubtedly won over the male section of the crowd with her long tanned legs and overall appearance; however her opponent Kudryavtseva wasn't too happy. ‘I don't like her outfit! ... It's one of my motivations to beat her!' Surely her motivation should really have been moving up the world rankings?

Leggy Blonde Sharapova was probably oblivious to the comments. With her annual income of $22 million a year she is one of Russia's top celebs. Her $70 million deal with Nike has blown Reeboks $43 million deal with Venus Williams out of the water. Fashion on the court pays- Big time.

Russian Tennis beauty Maria Kirilenko has been a Sports Illustrated model, and donned a number of skimpy bikinis for the magazine. She actually finds the modelling part much harder than the tennis, due to the constant dieting and travelling. While we (the public) see the glamorous side, she assures that there is ‘blood and sweat behind it all' Kirilenko was selected by the Stella McCartney tennis range to be the face of Adidas.

Few Russian female tennis players can claim to have looked better on court than Anna Kournikova. When she arrived at Wimbledon for the first time she was the queen of the short white skirt. When the stunning Russian appeared in Sports Illustrated it was one of their highest selling issues.  She was voted the sexiest woman in the world in 2002 and tournaments in which the fashionably sexy Kournikova did not play had around 30% less turn out.

Alona Bondarenko and her sister are competitive Ukrainian tennis players who aren't afraid to express themselves uniquely on the tennis courts. The two leggy blondes both have tattoos on their backs to show respect for one another. Alona sports a nose ring too.

We can probably expect to see much more of Russia's sporting women. In the old days if you were good at tennis you defected from Russia, but now the country is now littered with tennis courts and it seems that many more girls from Russia will follow in the footsteps of Kournikova.

Will a one-peice from Victoria's Secret fit me? I bought a small, I'm 130lbs and 5"10.?
