This sitcom collection features a double dose of 1970s TV fun--with three episodes featuring the Partridge family singers acting alongside the sexy stars of Charlie's Angels. In "The Sound of Money," a cagey con artist (played by M*A*S*H's Colonel Potter, Harry Morgan) tries suing the family for bumping his Studebaker. Conniving Danny and Mr. Kincaid enlist blonde goddess Farrah Fawcett to help trap him, while the rest of the family take a different tack and decide to kill the con with kindness. Voluptuous Jaclyn Smith throws a curve at the suspicious siblings in "When Mother Gets Married." Desperate for a date, single mom Shirley has to fight off the demons of middle age and the depredations of her offspring when an old friend comes to town. Even freethinking Laurie's well-meaning advice does little more than contribute to the madcap romantic chaos! Finally, cute and cuddly Keith faces "Double Trouble" when he lands two dates to the same beach party. The true object of his affections, a fickle Cheryl Ladd (credited as Cheryl Stoppelmoor), has a panicky Keith mastering his romantic moves, which of course backfire hilariously. Fans of the free-love-and-fun-music decade are sure to be delighted. --Grant Balfour

They're back, they're beautiful, and they mean business--but in a sweet way. Charlie's Angels: The Complete Third Season finds Kris Munroe (Cheryl Ladd), sister of departed Angel Jill Munroe (Farrah Fawcett), well ensconced in the Charles Townsend Investigation agency. Jill, however, isn't entirely absent from the scene: Fawcett turns up in at least three episodes, not quite ready to shake her old job despite the lure of car racing and a handsome beau (Stephen Collins). But enough about her: the current incarnation of Charlie's team kicks off the season with a two-part mystery set in Las Vegas. Dean Martin plays a maverick casino owner who believes he's being "gaslighted," i.e., made the target of psychological harassment by an unknown enemy. Trouble is, some of his employees and friends are getting hurt and even killed by this same assailant. The girls, including brainy Sabrina Duncan (Kate Jackson) and streetwise Kelly Garrett (Jaclyn Smith), plus mirthful supervisor Bosley (David Doyle), go undercover to root out a plot to ruin Martin's character. (Sure, Dino romances one of them: Sabrina.) The rest of the season follows the usual Charlie's Angels formula of relying on the cast's appealing personalities and substantive, anti-bimbo characters, while also getting them (well, not Jackson so much) in various states of undress as quickly as possible. An accent on stories requiring the wearing of leotards and showgirl costumes certainly helps the cause, but there are plenty of non-exploitational episodes as well. Among the best programs is "Angel Come Home," in which Jill arrives at Charlie's by surprise after receiving a phony emergency cable in Europe from someone claiming to be Kris. Eager to investigate, Jill soon hooks up with an old friend (Horst Buchholz) developing a new car engine targeted by enemies. "Angels in Springtime" capitalizes on a creepy suggestion of lesbian incarcerators running an expensive spa for women. "Haunted Angels" is a spooky tale of a young man's demanding spirit being channeled, from beyond the grave, through a terrified woman. It could be real or it could be a scam; only the Angels can find out. "Counterfeit Angels" finds a trio of bank robbers claiming to be Kris, Kelly, and Sabrina; the girls fight for their innocence. Finally, a great episode from its era (1979), "Disco Angels," gets the ladies exactly where they belong: on a dance floor. --Tom Keogh

The San Diego Chargers are from San Diego, CA and play their football games in the AFC Western Division. Interestingly, the San Diego Chargers actually began as the Los Angeles Chargers in 1960. Here is a brief history of this popular football team.

As one of the original members of the AFL, the Chargers played their first year in Los Angeles before permanently moving to San Diego. They came to the AFC West by way of the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. San Diego plays its football games in Qualcomm Stadium. They have been playing at this stadium since 1968 and the stadium has been the host to 3 different Super Bowls over this time. The team is currently looking to have a new stadium built to replace the aging Qualcomm Stadium.

Barron Hilton, who was also the founder of Hilton Hotels, originally owned the team. He continued to be the owner until selling the team to current owner, Alex Spanos. During the 1960s the Chargers defensive line became know as the "fearsome foursome". They were led by big Ernie Ladd and would often dominate football games.

It wasn't until 1979 and the emergence of QB Dan Fouts, that the Chargers began to experience success. Leading the team to its first playoff berth in 14 years, the Chargers lost in the playoffs that year to the Houston Oilers. That started a string of 4 consecutive years of going to the playoffs, but the team could never get to the Super Bowl.

During this run, the Chargers played in one of the most memorable overtime games in NFL Playoff history. In the 1982 game against the Miami Dolphins, the team raced off to a 24-0 lead, only to lose it by the 3rd quarter. San Diego recovered and eventually won the game in overtime 41-38.

It wasn't until 1995 that the San Diego Chargers broke through to the Super Bowl. It has been to this day their only Super Bowl appearance. The team won the AFC West and went on to upset the Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers to gain a spot in the championship game. Unfortunately they had to face Steve Young and the San Francisco 49ers, losing the game 49-26.

Since that season the Chargers have had its share of problems, with only 2 winning seasons and one playoff berth, that coming in 2004. Currently, Marty Shottenheimer now coaches the team.

The San Diego Chargers also have arguably the most striking uniforms of any other football team. They are known for their signature lightning bolt on their helmets and down the sides of their uniform pants.

The San Diego Chargers have had several players inducted into the football Hall of Fame including:

Lance Alworth Dan Fouts Sid Gillman Ron Mix Charlie Joiner Kellen Winslow

Other notable former Chargers include:

Paul Lowe Keith Lincoln Ernie Ladd (Later he became Ernie "the cat" Ladd in professional wrestling) Walt Sweeney John Hadl Chuck Allen Don Coryell Speedy Duncan Wes Chandler Bobby Ross Doug Flutie Natrone Means Jack Kemp Junior Seau.

Sandiego Chargers - San Diego Chargers - Charger Football

The San Diego Chargers, also nicknamed the Bolts or Super Chargers, are an American professional football team based in San Diego, California. They are currently members of the Western Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The club began play in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League. The club spent its first season in Los Angeles, California before moving to San Diego in 1961.The Chargers play their home games at Qualcomm Stadium.

The Chargers are the only team to start a season 0-4 and make the playoffs (1992), and the only team to start a season 4-8 and make the playoffs (2008).

The Chargers won one AFL title in 1963 and reached the AFL playoffs five times and the AFL Championship four times before joining the NFL (1970) as part of the AFL-NFL Merger.[1] In the 34 years since then, the Chargers have made ten trips to the playoffs and four appearances in the AFC Championship game.[1] At the end of the 1994 season, the Chargers faced the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XXIX and fell 49-26.

The Chargers have six players and one coach enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio: wide receiver Lance Alworth (1962-1970), defensive end Fred Dean (1975-1981), quarterback Dan Fouts (1973-1987), head coach/general manager Sid Gillman (1960-1969, 1971), wide receiver Charlie Joiner (1976-1986), offensive lineman Ron Mix (1960–1969) and tight end Kellen Winslow (1979-1987).

1959–1969: AFL beginnings

The San Diego Chargers were established with seven other American Football League teams in 1959. In 1960, the Chargers began AFL play in Los Angeles. The Chargers' original owner was hotel heir Barron Hilton, son of Hilton Hotels founder Conrad Hilton.

According to the Official Site of the Pro Football Hall of Fame: Barron Hilton agreed after his general manager, Frank Ready picked the Chargers name when he purchased an AFL franchise for Los Angeles. The Chargers played in Los Angeles in 1960 and moved to San Diego in 1961. "I liked it because they were yelling ‘charge' and sounding the bugle at Dodgers Stadium and at USC games." In February of 2010 Jason Kresch invested 10 million and became a part time owner.

The Chargers only spent one season in Los Angeles before moving to San Diego in 1961. The early AFL years of the San Diego Chargers were highlighted by the outstanding play of wide receiver Lance Alworth with 543 receptions for 10,266 yards in his 11 AFL/NFL season career. In addition he set the pro football record of consecutive games with a reception (96) during his career.

Their only coach for the ten year life of the AFL was Sid Gillman, a Hall of Famer.who was considered the foremost authority on the forward passing offense of his era. With players such as Alworth, Paul Lowe, Keith Lincoln and John Hadl, the high-scoring Chargers won divisional crowns five of the league's first six seasons and the AFL title in 1963 with a 51–10 victory over the Boston Patriots.

They also played defense, as indicated by their professional football record 49 pass interceptions in 1961, and featured AFL Rookie of the Year defensive end Earl Faison. The Chargers were the originators of the term "Fearsome Foursome" to describe their all-star defensive line,[citation needed] anchored by Faison and Ernie Ladd (the latter also excelled in professional wrestling). The phrase was later appropriated by the Los Angeles Rams.Hilton sold the Chargers to a group headed by Eugene Klein and Sam Schulman in August 1966.

The following year the Chargers began "head to head" competition with the older NFL with a preseason loss to the Detroit Lions. The Chargers defeated the defending Super Bowl III champion New York Jets 34–27 before a record San Diego Stadium crowd of 54,042 on September 29, 1969. Alworth once again led the team in receptions with 64 and 1,003 yards with 4 touchdowns. The team also saw Gillman step down due to health and offensive backfield coach Charlie Waller promoted to head coach after the completion of the regular season. Gillman did remain with the club as the general manager.
