Godsend Godsend
List Price: $9.98
Sale Price: $0.80

While it preys on the emotions of grieving parents, Godsend serves up a few minor shocks in an otherwise frightless supernatural thriller. Greg Kinnear and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos are the once-happy couple whose 8-year-old son (Cameron Bright) has been struck and killed by a car. When a fertility and genetics expert (Robert De Niro) offers them an opportunity to resurrect their boy through a secret, illegal cloning procedure, they don't know that the doctor's hidden agenda will have horrifying repercussions when the "new" son passes his eighth birthday and begins having "night terrors" about another boy who'd suffered a similarly unfortunate fate. Any casual viewer will catch the plot twist early, after which Godsend presses its flimsy premise past the breaking point. There are some eerie moments involving the kid (and Bright has effectively disturbing presence), but wretched dialogue and derivative plotting undermine the talented leads, all of whom seem to be slumming in the B-movie cellar. --Jeff Shannon

THIS TAUT & GRIPPING THRILLER TELLS THE STORY OF DEVOTEDPARENTS WHO ARE WILLING TO DO ANYTHING TO RESURRECT THEIR BELOVED SON WHO WAS TRAGICALLY KILLED IN A FREAK ACCIDENT.

Batman Returns [VHS] Batman Returns [VHS]
List Price: $14.98
Sale Price: $1.63

The first Batman sequel takes a wicked turn with the villainous exploits of the freakish and mean-spirited Penguin (Danny DeVito), whose criminal collaboration with evil tycoon Max Shreck (Christopher Walken) threatens to drain Gotham City of its energy supply. As if that weren't enough, Batman (Michael Keaton) has his hands full with the vengeful Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer), who turns out to be a lot more dangerous than a kitten with a whip. As with the first Batman feature, director Tim Burton brings his distinct visual style to the frantic action, but this time there's a darker malevolence lurking beneath all that extraordinary production design. --Jeff Shannon

Thanks to the ambitious vision of director Tim Burton, the blockbuster hit of 1989 delivers the goods despite an occasionally spotty script, giving the caped crusader a thorough overhaul in keeping with the crime fighter's evolution in DC Comics. Michael Keaton strikes just the right mood as the brooding "Dark Knight" of Gotham City; Kim Basinger plays Gotham's intrepid reporter Vicki Vale; and Jack Nicholson goes wild as the maniacal and scene-stealing Joker, who plots a takeover of the city with his lethal Smilex gas. Triumphant Oscar-winning production design by the late Anton Furst turns Batman into a visual feast, and Burton brilliantly establishes a darkly mythic approach to Batman's legacy. Danny Elfman's now-classic score propels the action with bold, muscular verve. --Jeff Shannon

Mad Men: Season Four Mad Men: Season Four
List Price: $49.98
Sale Price: $17.97

Mad Men took a daring turn at the end of the third season by rebooting itself (the principals at Sterling Cooper left to form their own upstart agency in the face of a corporate takeover), and it pays off big time in season four. Set a year after that season finale, the brand-new agency Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce is struggling to make a name for itself and sign on new clients; Roger (John Slattery) finds himself at the beck and call of the firm's largest account, Lucky Strike; Pete (Vincent Kartheiser) faces impending fatherhood; Peggy (Elisabeth Moss) asserts herself in a position of power among her sexist fellow copywriters; Joan (Christina Hendricks) sees her husband off to Vietnam and finds herself in a compromising predicament. Then there's Don (Jon Hamm, doing his finest acting yet), who brazenly gambles the firm's success on his impulses, lives alone except for a string of one-night stands, and exchanges curt phone calls with his ex-wife, Betty (January Jones), over parenting the kids. Don's rock bottom midway through the season (which hits somewhere around his career high) collides with the shattering loss of a loved one, and his attempts to improve himself include forging a new romance with a confident, intelligent marketing researcher (Cara Buono). But the woman with whom he's most deeply linked--platonically--is Peggy, and the two of them have a terrific episode all to themselves entitled "The Suitcase." The season's 13 episodes are a perfect suite of politics (Joan vs. the male establishment, the rivalry between Ken and Pete); humor (the firm competes for a Honda account and trips over itself trying to read their Japanese clients); hope (Don and Betty's daughter Sally's cry for help finally falls on receptive ears); and growth (Pete, so weaselly in season one, has become the show's most matured cast member). Each one comes with full commentary by creator Matthew Weiner and various cast and crew members. Also included are documentaries on the historical landscape of the period Mad Men covers: divorce, the Ford Mustang, and the 1964 presidential campaign. All are informative enough, but for a show that's very serious and buttoned up, one can't help but feel a little disappointed there aren't more lighthearted behind-the-scenes extras that could have been included. But perhaps Weiner & Co. feel it's better to keep it all behind the curtain. --Ellen A. Kim

Here are some more information for Jon Hamm:
Jon Hamm

Warner Brothers has until 2013 to release a Superman movie. After that they lose the rights to the Superman product to the original creators. Well, their heirs. Since the Judges ruling WB has been frantically trying to get a reboot up and running. Surprisingly they have done pretty well. Christopher Nolan, the man behind the huge success of the Batman movies and Inception has signed on to be the lead advisor. What does that mean? Well, it pretty much means that what Nolan says, goes. WB wouldn't have it any other way.

So far we have rumors that Christopher's brother, Jonathan Nolan will be directing the film. David Goyer, who has worked on Batman Begins and Blade has apparently sold his idea to WB on an action packed movie that would pit the Man of Steel against Lex Luthor and the alien super villain Brainiac.

Most likely we will not be seeing either Bryan Singer, or Brandon Routh having any involvement with this project. I personally hated Singers spin on Superman. The costume was horrible. The new "S" shield was OK, yet too small. The fact Supes had a son, who threw giant pianos was a bad idea as well. Lois Lane, Kate Bosworth looked as if she was 19 years old. Not really believable for a Pulitzer winning journalist. In fact the only two things I liked about the Superman Returns film was Brandon Routh, and the awesome plane scene. Unfortunately after that the movie went south in a hurry.

OK, enough about the past. Lets take a look at who could possibly fill in the huge red boots of Superman!

John Barrowman: Best known for his role in Torchwood as Captain Jack Harkness.

Likelihood: Less than 5%

Matthew Bomer: Best known for his role in White Collar as Neal Caffrey.

Likelihood: 10%

Henry Cavill: Best known for his role in The Tudors as Charles Brandon.

Likelihood: 10%

Jon Hamm: Best known for his role in Mad Men as Don Draper.

Likelihood: 15%

Tom Welling: Best known for his role in Smallville as Clark Kent.

Likelihood: 15%

In reality it could be any one of these guys plus a few dozen more. Brandon Routh was pretty much an unknown when he got the role for Superman Returns. Tom Welling seems to be the favorite on the Internet seeing as he is his final season playing a young Clark Kent realising he is destined to become Superman.

The show is broadcast on the American cable network AMC and is produced by Lionsgate Television. It premiered on July 19, 2007 and completed its second season on October 26, 2008. The third season began on August 16, 2009.

Set in New York City, Mad Men is set in the early 1960s at the fictional Sterling Cooper advertising agency on Madison Avenue. The show centers on Don Draper (Jon Hamm), the agency's creative director, and those in his life, in and out of the office. It also depicts the changing social mores of 1960s America.

Mad Men has received critical acclaim, particularly for its historical authenticity and visual style, and has won multiple awards, including nine Emmys and three Golden Globes. It is the first basic cable series to win the Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series.

Mad Men features an ensemble cast representing several segments of society in 1960s New York, although it focuses most on Don Draper. Mad Men places emphasis on showing each character's past and their development over time. The following character summaries were based on information gathered from the page 'About the show' at amctv.com.
Lead characters

* Donald Francis "Don" Draper (Jon Hamm): Creative director and eventual junior partner of Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency; Draper is the series' main character. His past is shadowy, but he has achieved success at the agency. He is married to Elizabeth "Betty" Draper and has three children, but has a history of infidelity. Draper's real name is Dick Whitman; he assumed the real Don Draper's identity during the Korean War.
* Margaret "Peggy" Olson (Elisabeth Moss): Olson rises from Draper's secretary to a copywriter with her own office.[20] She unknowingly becomes pregnant with Pete Campbell's child, is told she suffered a mental breakdown after the unexpected birth given that she did not know of her pregnancy, and gives the baby up for adoption.
* Peter Dyckman "Pete" Campbell (Vincent Kartheiser): A young, ambitious account executive from a privileged background. Campbell tries to blackmail Don Draper with information from Draper's past.[19] He and his wife are unable to conceive a child, and he remains unaware of his child with Olson until the second season finale.
* Elizabeth "Betty" Draper (née Hofstadt) (January Jones): A former model and Don Draper's wife and mother of their three children, Sally, Bobby and Eugene Scott. She gradually becomes aware of her husband's womanizing over the first two seasons. Following a brief separation, Betty allows Don to return home after discovering she is pregnant with their third child, but not before having a tryst of her own.
* Joan Harris (née Holloway) (Christina Hendricks): Office manager and head of the secretarial pool at Sterling Cooper. She has a long-term affair with Roger Sterling until his two heart attacks cause him to end the relationship.
* Roger Sterling Jr. (John Slattery): One of the two senior partners of Sterling Cooper, and formerly a good friend of Don Draper. His father founded the firm with Bertram Cooper, which explains why his name is before Cooper's. A picture in Cooper's office shows Roger as a child alongside Cooper depicted as a young adult. In the same scene[episode needed], Cooper refers to the picture and calls Roger "Peanut", indicating that theirs is a friendship (perhaps even family relationship) that spans many decades. In Season 2, Bertram Cooper mentions that "the late Mrs. Cooper" introduced Sterling to his wife, Mona, who Sterling is in the process of divorcing in favor of Don's former secretary, the 22-year-old Jane. Bertram Cooper's sister, Alice Cooper, babysat for Sterling when he was a child. Sterling served in the Navy and was a notorious womanizer (living like he was "on shore leave") until two heart attacks changed his perspective, at least for a while. The heart attacks did not affect his drinking or smoking habits, which remained excessive. He retains considerable affection from both Sterling Cooper employees (with whom he has far more contact than Bert Cooper) and his family. By 1962, Sterling has returned to work and is seen to indulge in his old habits.
