The premise of this swinging Vegas picture is enough to carry it over its narrative rough spots. The unluckiest sap on the planet (William H. Macy) is employed as a "cooler" at a casino; his very presence can chill the hot streak of any patron on a roll. He's valued by the old-school manager of the place, a role given a two-fisted, bourbon-swilling incarnation by Alec Baldwin. Macy means to quit, but then he falls for a waitress (the excellent Maria Bello, from Permanent Midnight)--might his luck be changing? The subplots are pretty much a mess, but the frank sex scenes between Macy and Bello give the movie a truly offbeat feel. The tawdry air of a second-rate casino is also nicely done: This is not the new family-friendly Las Vegas, but a tough place of superstitions, sinister back rooms, and shabby motels. The characters are perfectly at home. --Robert Horton

It's clear from the live performances on All the Way... A Decade of Song & Video that Celine Dion's audiences adore her. And what's not to adore? She's beautiful, talented, and--corny as it sounds--seems really nice. This 90-minute compilation features 12 videos and five live songs illustrating the French-Canadian singer's transformation from a perky teen to a sophisticated international star. In the early '90s, Dion sang boppy tunes such as "Mislead" and "Love Can Move Mountains." The mid-decade Dion (decidedly sexier) is represented by "Because You Loved Me," "The Power of Love," and "It's All Coming Back to Me Now." Her soaring voice is powerful and poignant, reminding us why Titanic's "My Heart Will Go On" became such a huge hit. The compilation is ballad-heavy, but her last video of the decade, "That's the Way It Is," marks a welcome return to her earlier, sassier manner. --Dana Van Nest

My Big Fat Greek Wedding

Feel-good sleeper sensation stars Nia Vardalos (who also adapted her one-woman play) as a Chicago-based woman who works at parents Michael Constantine and Lainie Kazan's Greek restaurant, but longs for romance and a life for herself. After taking computer classes, she gets a job at her aunt's travel agency, where she meets and falls for personable teacher John Corbett, who must now come under her family's scrutiny. With Andrea Martin, Joey Fatone, Gia Carides. 95 min. Standard and Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital stereo; Subtitles: English, Greek, Spanish, French; audio commentary by Vardalos, Corbett; biographies.
It's not surprising that My Big Fat Greek Wedding grew more popular over the course of its theatrical release (whereas most blockbusters open big and then drop precipitously)--not only does it have believable situations and engaging characters, but these characters (particularly our romantic heroine, Toula, played by writer and performer Nia Vardalos) look like actual human beings instead of plastic movie stars. The result is the very accessible tale of Greek-American Toula (whose family sees her as over the hill at 30), who falls for a WASPy guy named Ian (John Corbett) and then has to endure the outrage, doubt, and ultimate acceptance of her deeply ethnically centered family. The actors invest their wildly stereotypical portrayals with sincerity and compassion, giving the movie an honest warmth instead of Hollywood schmaltz. But My Big Fat Greek Wedding ultimately succeeds because of Vardalos; her intelligent, down-to-earth presence and charm carry the film. --Bret Fetzer

Robot Chicken's finest half hour is more savvy than Spaceballs, more inside than Family Guy: Blue Harvest, and funnier, even, than The Star Wars Holiday Special. This Very Special Episode of Comedy Central's stop-motion animated series parodies and goofs on all things Star Wars, from a disgruntled Empire janitor to an ad for Admiral Ackbar Cereal ("Your tongues can't repel flavor of that magnitude"). Twenty three minutes goes by like the jump to hyperspace with such priceless bits as the collect phone call to Emperor Palpatine from Darth Vadar to inform him of the Death Star's destruction, awkward morning-after pillow talk between Luke and Leia ("That was so wrong"), and George Bush's newfound Jedi powers. Co-creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich and company immerse viewers in the Robot Chicken universe with generous bonus features, including storyboarded deleted scenes (with self-deprecating commentary), behind the scenes footage of animation meetings, and alternate audio takes. Good sport George Lucas, who gave his blessing to this episode, boldly goes where William Shatner went before by voicing himself in a Star Wars convention sketch that concludes with a Lucas-worshiping geek telling his son that meeting his idol was the best day of his life. What about his son's birth? "Not even close," dad replies. But you don't have to have that kind of devotion to Star Wars to be amused by this weather forecast for Cloud City: "Cloudy, followed by clouds." --Donald Liebenson.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...no one was laughing at "Star Wars." Now, "Robot Chicken" mastermind Seth Green directs this affectionate animated spoof of the six-chapter space opera, in which Luke Skywalker (voiced by Mark Hamill) loses track of his own backstory, Darth Vader laments the Death Star's destruction by the "Aluminum Falcon," and more. Also stars the voices of Ahmed Best, Donald Faison, and George Lucas. 23 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital stereo; Subtitles: English, French, Spanish; featurettes; audio commentary; deleted scenes; photo gallery; behind-the-scenes footage; more.

On the Line, a romantic comedy starring 'N Sync's Lance Bass and Joey Fatone, is accompanied by this disc, which both consolidates the standing of some of the industry's biggest teen-poppers and singles out new Jive Records signings. New 'N Sync and Fatone tracks, along with the title cut (a summit meeting of Bass, Fatone, Mandy Moore, and others), offer little new, while Britney Spears's "Let Me Be" points to her growing vocal maturity. Much more audacious is "My Hit Song," a Melissa Lefton tune that displays a Josie and the Pussycats-style irony about the current star-making machinery. Along with Vitamin C's Abba-esque "Do You C What I C?" and the return of Robyn ("What It Takes") on "Say You'll Walk the Distance," it's a highlight. Adolescent country artist Meredith Edwards adds to the project's synergy with a second version of Fatone's showcase, "Ready to Fall," while Al Green's disco-fied remake of his "Let's Stay Together" is a puzzler, distinguished only by his joyous performance. --Rickey Wright

Here are some more information for Joey Fatone:

There's no question that famous faces attract interest in a product. Advertising executives on Madison Avenue have never had a doubt about this. And, if there's one thing that us regular people covet it's the body and beauty of many celebrities (especially women.) We want to be thin just like them, but we realistically know that we don't have a chef or a trainer.
Still, what we love even more than the perfect body is a comeback story. We love seeing Valerie Bertinelli go from looking not so hot to looking gorgeously toned in a bikini. We're heartbroken that Kirstie Alley is resorting back to her old ways. To this end, I'm often asked which celebrities are Nutrisystem alumni. The answer is quite a few. Some are very famous and well known and with some of them, I'm not sure what the company was thinking. However, to answer this question, I'll give a brief overview of some of the famous people who've lost weight on Nutrisystem.
Jillian Barberie: Without a doubt, Jillian is probably the celebrity most closely associated with Nutrisystem. Her print and TV ads that show her parading around in a bikini have gotten a lot of attention. She lost over 40 pounds on the diet following the birth of her daughter. But let's face it, I bet she'd look great no matter what she ate. Still, I think she looks better than ever. I like her as a brunette.
Marie Osmond: Marie Osmond is probably the second most recognizable Nutrisystem alumni. She's lost 45 pounds and I actually find her more believable than Jillian because her weight loss was not baby weight that may have come off anyway. Still, I'm sure her stint on Dancing With The Stars helped some too.
Belinda Carlisle: Speaking of Dancing With The Stars, former Go Gos lead singer Belinda Carlisle has recently lost around 20 pounds. I think she looked fine before though.
Tori Spelling: Here's another post partum weight loss signing. Tori says she gained over 50 pounds when she was pregnant with her son and she lost all of that thanks to Nutrisystem. I must say she is REALLY thin right now - most people think too much so.
Danielle Fishel: When I tell people about this young dieter, most don't know who she is. She is the young actress who appeared on Boy Meets World and also wore a bikini in the ads. She lost around 30 pounds and was quite thin when the diet was over.
Zora Andrich: Remember Zora from Joe Millionaire? In addition to splitting a lot of money with the guy on the show, she cashed in with this diet and lost around 20 pounds.
Jodie Sweetin: This actress played Stephanie Tanner on Full House. Like many of the spokeswomen, she went on the diet after giving birth (in this case to her daughter Zoie.) She too lost 40 pounds.
The Guys (Dan Marino, Don Shula, Ant, Lawrence Taylor, Joey Fatone): Many people don't realize that there is a diet for men too. And, of course the company has male celebrity spokespeople. Most are sports figures but there are a few comedians and also Joey from Dancing With The Stars.
The Nutrisystem Celebrity Review Website offers information about the diet, photos of celebrity weight loss, a complete food list, the latest Nutrisystem coupons / specials and a free ebook. Check it out if you like at http://celebrity-diet-review.com/nutrisystem
Dancing With the Stars Season 5 Contestants Announced
ABC has finally revealed the official list of contestants for Dancing with the Stars this morning. Some names on the list were not surprising to see as insider news have leaked to the Internet in the past couple of weeks. One challenge for the show was to come up with a good line up that could stand strong against its previous seasons. After featuring Mr. Entertainment, Joey Fatone, Mr. Focus Apolo Anton Ohno, and Mrs. Steadfast Competitor Laila Ali, the show has a particularly hard act to follow with its fifth season. Will these stars accomplish this heavy task?
Questions on Melanie Brown's appearance on the show have finally silenced as ABC announced that she will be performing on the dance floor, contrary to previous rumors of her appearing as a judge. She will be paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
As predicted, Jennie Garth from Beverly Hills 90210 will also be appearing on Dancing with the Stars. There's a twist though, as she will be teaming up with Derek Hough, Dancing with the Stars pro champ Juliana Hough's brother.
Sixty-five-year-old entertainer best known as Mr. Las Vegas, Wayne Newton will also participate in the show together with his partner, Cheryl Burke. Vocal owner of the Dallas Mavericks and all-around rich guy will be teaming with Dancing with the Stars favorite, Kym Johnson.
Josie Moran, whose name never appeared in casting leaks and spoilers, is a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model who is paired with Alec Mazo. Sabrina Bryan of Disney's manufactured pop group Cheetah Girls will be competing in cooperation with a brand new professional joining Dancing with the Stars, Mark Ballas.
Marie Osmond, a pleasing addition to the cast, will be joining the show with professional dancer Jonathan Roberts. Jane Seymour, on the other hand, will be paired with professional dancer Tony Dovolani. Thirty-two-year-old Brazilian native and two-time winner of the Indy 500, Helio Castroneves is set to bring a high level of competitiveness to the show, as he is paired with Juliana Hough.
Boxer Floyd Mayweather is challenged to display grace on the dance floor as he is paired with Karina Smirnoff, while Cameron Mathison from All My Children will be competing with Edyta Silwinska, who is a Dancing with the Stars veteran. Lastly, 22-year-old model Albert Reed is set to appear with Anna Trebunskaya.
Musical guests on the next season of Dancing with the stars include Dolly Parton and Avril Lavigne.
