Recorded in 1971, but unreleased in the U.S. until 1999, B.B. King's Live in Japan deserves high marks for exuberance alone. Had Live in Cook County Jail not just jumped into the charts, this live album might have been released long ago. The recording opens with a swelling of enthusiastic cheers, as King launches into an uptempo "Every Day I Have the Blues." There are plenty of other classics here as well, including "How Blue Can You Get?", "Sweet Sixteen," and "The Thrill Is Gone" (which elicits another round of cheering from the opening notes). Live in Japan may not have the long-standing reputation of Cook County Jail or Live at the Regal, but it's an excellent album, with a decidedly different feel from these two classics. King's obvious enthusiasm for his music and for his audience is infectious, and you can hear the sheer joy of it in every note. And, for those who don't really feel that they need additional versions of well-known songs, let it be mentioned that Live in Japan contains King's only live rendition of "Hummingbird," not to mention a couple of unique jams ("Japanese Boogie," "Jamming at Sankei Hall," and "Hikari #88"). --Genevieve Williams

Ranking No. 21 on the American Film Institute's list of the 100 greatest American films, this 1940 classic is a bit dated in its noble sentimentality, but it remains a luminous example of Hollywood classicism from the peerless director of mythic Americana, John Ford. Adapted by Nunnally Johnson from John Steinbeck's classic novel, the film tells a simple story about Oklahoma farmers leaving the depression-era dustbowl for the promised land of California, but it's the story's emotional resonance and theme of human perseverance that makes the movie so richly and timelessly rewarding. It's all about the humble Joad family's cross-country trek to escape the economic devastation of their ruined farmland, beginning when Tom Joad (Henry Fonda) returns from a four-year prison term to discover that his family home is empty. He's reunited with his family just as they're setting out for the westbound journey, and thus begins an odyssey of saddening losses and strengthening hopes. As Ma Joad, Oscar-winner Jane Darwell is the embodiment of one of America's greatest social tragedies and the "Okie" spirit of pressing forward against all odds (as she says, "because we're the people"). A documentary-styled production for which Ford and cinematographer Gregg Toland demanded painstaking authenticity, The Grapes of Wrath is much more than a classy, old-fashioned history lesson. With dialogue and scenes that rank among the most moving and memorable ever filmed, it's a classic among classics--simply put, one of the finest films ever made. --Jeff Shannon

Movie adaptations of Jane Austen's classic novels were all the rage (relatively speaking) in the mid-1990s. Clueless updated Austen's Emma, which was more conventionally adapted in another version (Emma) starring Gwyneth Paltrow. Emma was produced yet again, this time for British television, as were a celebrated miniseries of Pride and Prejudice and this splendid film of Austen's Persuasion. Persuasion is the story of a love that survives eight years of dormancy and the frustrating obstacles of class prejudice in 19th century England. Anne (Amanda Root) is captivated when she meets the dignified naval officer Capt. Wentworth (Ciarán Hinds), but she is advised to discourage his romantic overtures because he has no fortune. They meet again eight years later, but now Capt. Wentworth has become wealthy while Anne's father is in reduced circumstances in the wake of reckless extravagance. A series of circumstances ensue which prevent Anne and Wentworth from expressing their mutual and inevitable love. The film's success depends entirely on the subtle, superb performances of Root and Hinds. The film builds slowly, occasionally leaving you wondering if anything at all is going to happen. When it does, you realize how carefully crafted a film this is, and the final result is grandly rewarding. --Jeff Shannon

Here are some more information for Jane Russell:

You've brought your new dog home for the first time and he's running riot - into everything - you are chasing him around - shouting for him to stop. He is not taking any notice - you are panicking - now what - suddenly perhaps you think it is not a great idea to have a dog.
That has painted a picture, a bit extreme perhaps, but maybe it sounds a bit to familiar. You need to step back a bit here and take stock. Punishing your dog is not the way to deal with such a situation but of course you can't have the dog running riot.
Basic dog obedience training has to be looked into here, but don't panic, an awful lot in the early stages is common sense. Firstly here are 3 things NOT to do:
1) As I have already said - do not punish the dog - certainly do not smack him.
2) Do not shout commands - that would probably have an opposite affect.
3) Do not attempt to train your dog for hours at a time - he will get very
bored and your patience will go eventually.
A good tip here is to only use one word commands - "sit", "stay", "down", "fetch" and "come" are the five basic commands which most trainers will use and these must be delivered in a calm but positive way.
Basic dog obedience training has to be patient especially on your side, don't try to do too much to quick. Only work with your dog in 10 to 15 minute periods say 3 times a day to keep your obedience training fresh and your dog will maintain his interest.
There is another vitally important point here - that is when your dog does something good you must reward him - tell him "good boy" and give him a biscuit or similar treat, you will be in his good books - your bonding has begun - he will definitely remember.
In point 1 of the 3 "do NOTs" I said do not punish the dog but you must penalise the dog by doing something he will not like. For instance, when out for a walk your dog, he might keep pulling on the lead, just gently but firmly restrain him when he does this, he won't like it but he will eventually stop doing it, because he knows he will be impeded. This is all part of his basic dog obedience training.
Remember that your dog is learning all the time about life, what tastes good and what to avoid, what hurts and what doesn't - it's not only your teaching that has positive effects on him. The fact that you will religiously reward him means that he will remember this and will look forward to working with you. In short he will make sure he wins your approval - he is not stupid. You should both enjoy these occasions because they are part of the bonding process, which will stand you you well for your life together.

Breast Enhancement Bras - the Push up Bra
The Push-Up bra, once called the padded bra is one of the most common breast enhancement product on the market designed to enhance your cleavage. It works by pushing up and out the breasts, combined with the padded inserts placed in the lower part of the cup of the bra, this give a fuller and visually a more enhanced size to the breasts. It not only has these very visual effects it also makes the wearer feel incredibly sexy and much more self confident.
Some more innovative push up bras use silicone or even water filled inserts in the cups to imitate the movement and look of natural larger breasts. These are more expensive than the standard padded bra, but offer a much more improved look to your cleavage.
The fabulous thing about the push up bra, is the fact that as well as giving your bust line that fabulous bigger and fuller look, the bra also offers lots of support for your breasts, helping prevent many of the issues, that can be the effects of long term use of not having the proper supports for your breasts.
History.
Rumor has it, that in 1943, yes 1943, Howard Hughes designed a type of push up bra for Jane Russell to wear in the Film the Outlaw.... In 1960 the Wonderbra was first developed and it enjoyed small success, it wasn't until the 1990's when Wonderbra marketed itself with Eva Herzigona and the famous words "Hello Boys" that the push up bra achieved world renowned fame, and was taken to heart my women all across the world.
In a recent poll of 3,000 women the push up bra received 20% of the vote and came in at number one for the best fashion invention ever. Read more on breast enhancement bras here.
