Yes, he made the Golden Calf, built an altar for it and announced to worship it. And because of this – according to God' Law;

He was Cursed because he had violated God' Law!

And had to be destroyed quickly; and Moses had to kill Aaron together with all the people which followed him!

Verses 20:83-87 of the Noble Quran give the answer of this question

In short, the answer is No; Aaron never ever made the golden calf.

Then who made it? It is not Aaron but the Samaritan made it.

The meanings of Verses 20:83-87

Verse 20:83 says:

Allah asked: O Moses ‘what has hurried you [to depart] from your people, in order to come to the appointed time to receive the Torah?’

Verse 20:84 says:

Moses said, ‘They are close, behind me, they are following in my track, and I hastened to You, my Lord, that You may be pleased’, with me, in other words, to please you even more.

Verse 20:85 says:

Allah said: O Moses! (Lo! I have tried your people after you) with the worship of the calf (after your departure from them,) after you set off for the mountain, and the Samaritan has misled them, he led them astray’, so they took to worshipping the golden calf; the Samaritan commanded them to do so.

Verse 20:86 says:

Thereupon Moses returned to his people, went back angry with them, and sad, extremely grieved. Angry and sad Moses said: O my people! He said, ‘O my people, did not your Lord promise you a fair promise? That is, a true [promise] that He will give you the Torah? Did the period, the length of my absence from you, seem too long for you, or did you desire that wrath should become incumbent against you from your Lord, by your worship of the golden calf, and so you broke your tryst with me?’, and failed to follow after me?

Verse 20:87 says:

They said, ‘We did not break our tryst with you of our own accord but we were laden with the people’s ornaments, of the trinkets of Pharaoh’s folk ,which the Children of Israel had borrowed from the Egyptians and we cast them, we threw them into the fire at the command of the Samaritan, and so, just as we cast, did the Samaritan cast, what he had on him of their trinkets together with the dust that he took from the track left by the hoof of Gabriel’s steed.

Verse 20:83

QARIB:

'Moses, why have you come with such haste from your nation? '

SHAKIR:

And what caused you to hasten from your people, o Moses?

PICKTHAL:

And (it was said): what hath made thee hasten from thy folk, o Moses?

YUSUFALI:

(When Moses was up on the mount, Allah said "What made thee hasten in advance of thy people, o Moses?"

Verse 20:84

QARIB:

Moses replied: 'they are following me. my lord, i made haste only so that i might please you. '

SHAKIR:

He said: they are here on my track and i hastened on to thee, my lord, that thou mightest be pleased

PICKTHAL:

He said: they are close upon my track. i hastened unto thee, my lord, that thou mightest be well pleased.

YUSUFALI:

He replied: "behold, they are close on my footsteps: i hastened to thee, o my lord, to please thee."

Verse 20:85

QARIB:

He (Allah) said: 'we tempted your nation in your absence, and the samaritan has misled them into error. '

SHAKIR:

He said: so surely we have tried your people after you, and the samiri has led them astray

PICKTHAL:

He said: lo! We have tried thy folk in thine absence, and as-samiri hath misled them.

YUSUFALI:

(Allah) said: "we have tested thy people in thy absence: the samiri has led them astray."

Verse 20:86

QARIB:

With great anger and sorrow, Moses returned to his nation. 'my nation, ' he said, 'did your lord not make you a fine promise? did the time of the covenant seem long to you? or did you desire that the anger of your lord should fall upon you so that you failed in your coming to my appointment? '

SHAKIR:

So Moses returned to his people wrathful, sorrowing. said he: o my people! did not your lord promise you a goodly promise: did then the time seem long to you, or did you wish that displeasure from your lord should be due to you, so that you broke (your) promise to me?

PICKTHAL:

Then Moses went back unto his folk, angry and sad. he said: o my people! hath not your lord promised you a fair promise? did the time appointed then appear too long for you, or did ye wish that wrath from your lord should come upon you, that ye broke tryst with me?

YUSUFALI:

So Moses returned to his people in a state of indignation and sorrow. he said: "o my people! did not your lord make a handsome promise to you? did then the promise seem to you long (in coming)? or did ye desire that wrath should descend from your lord on you, and so ye broke your promise to me?"

Verse 20:87

QARIB:

They replied: 'we have not failed in our promise to you through our choosing. we were laden with fardels, even the ornaments of the nation, and threw them just as the samaritan had thrown them (into the fire),

SHAKIR:

They said: we did not break (our) promise to you of our own accord, but we were made to bear the burdens of the ornaments of the people, then we made a casting of them, and thus did the samiri suggest

PICKTHAL:

They said: we broke not tryst with thee of our own will, but we were laden with burdens of ornaments of the folk, then cast them (in the fire), for thus as-samiri proposed.

YUSUFALI:

They said: "we broke not the promise to thee, as far as lay in our power: but we were made to carry the weight of the ornaments of the (whole) people, and we threw them (into the fire), and that was what the samiri suggested.

why do Catholics seem like they give more honor to Mary the n Jesus Christ himself?

i always wondered why the say holy mary mother of god forgive us now..(dont know the whole thing) but i used to sing at a roman catholic church. and it seems like they idolize mary and saints and have relics and all types of trinkets. there is a commandment about this no idol-ism. Put no one above God. so why do catholics do what they do. I am not condemning just asking. but it does you shall not make foyourselflf a carved image any likeness of anything that is in heaven or on earth and you shall not bow down to them.

Ok the Hail Mary is just passages out of the bible.
The Rosary is meditation on Jesus life.
We do honor Mary but we do not worship her. We worship God alone.
Do you have pictures of family members on your walls in your house? Do you worship them? Are they idols? Of course not. Same thing with statues of saints and Mary. We don't bow to statues. All of our worship and Prayers are to the Glory of God.
We pray directly to God but sometimes some Catholics ask saints for intersession. Same as you asking a friend to pray for you.
