ER: Michael Crichton's show about a Chicago emergency room was one of the most successful and longest running shows about hospital staff, running for 15 seasons between 1994 and 2009. Scrubs: For eight seasons Zack Braff was the popular protagonist of this comedy series that follows a group of doctors and nurses from their days as interns throughout their successful medical careers. In the ninth season, however, Braff left the series, and cast member Kerry Bishe, who plays Lucy Bennett, took over as the protagonist whose thoughts the show follows.

A House Review

House is likely one of the most entertaining pieces of television sitcom out there today. It's like taking Law and Order and blending it with a show like ER.

The show is about a doctor named House (played phenomenally by Hugh Laurie), this sarcastic, callous, stubborn, and very intelligent man who walks with a limp and cane, and his team of three young doctors (played by, Omar Epps, Jennifer Morrison, and Jesse Spencer). Dr. House happened to be a genius in his field, his brilliance shining brightest when solving complex medical cases that had thoroughly baffled all the other experts, and correctly diagnosing rare, obscure and highly lethal diseases, literally snatching his patients from the jaws of death at the last moment in many case. There is probably nothing more irksome that someone who thinks he's always right, and who turns out to BE always right: That was House.

And incredible though it seemed he could boast a good and faithful friend in the form of oncologist Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), perhaps the only person to whom House ever turned for advice. Even his chief antagonist, hospital administrator and dean of medicine Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein), grudgingly admitted that House always got results, despite her abhorrence of his behaviour and methods. Though officially based on an article about a real-life diagnostician who specialized in unusual medical cases, star Hugh Laurie has admitted that the weekly, hour-long medical drama House was also heavily beholden to the "Sherlock Holmes" stories, and certainly the series contained numerous Holmesian elements: The similar surname of aloof, antisocial "detective" who doggedly scrutinized each and every detail of the case at hand, the Watson like best friend, and the reliance upon narcotics.

The character of House makes this show. The man is so bull headed that he will stop at almost no lengths to get his way. His sarcastic wit is charming and funny. And his intelligence is amazing. These are all reasons why you love this character. He is also flawed in many ways, he's in pain often from his leg, and is heavily addicted to pain medication. This makes him bitter, yet he still gets his job done and saves many lives.

With all that and new and interesting cases each episode, it's hard to not be on the edge of your seat and tune in every Tuesday to FOX.

The show is utterly amazing, winning 2 Golden Globes as well as 13 other awards, and 30 nominations.

I just started watching house a few weeks ago and i think he is a really good looking guy.

For an older man yes he is very attractive, but his character's personality is really what makes him even more attractive to many women. I'm sure a lot of people haven't realized that Hugh Laurie played Jasper in the live version of Disney's 101 Dalmatians.
