Another great place to shop for Hopalong Cassidy products is Amazon. They have more than just books! Here are some more information for Hopalong Cassidy: I remember back when I was in my youth, visiting a modern art gallery in New York city. The building was a piece of art, the main lobby three stories high, like walking through a piece of giant abstract sculpture. It was for those kinds of experiences that my parents frequently took the family to New York city for vacations. I can remember seeing West Side Story and The Music Man on Broadway! But getting back to the art museum. There in the main lobby was displayed a very large modern "painting" that consisted of a canvass painted various shades of white. I know now, and think I even had some clue back then, that such a thing hung in an art gallery as "art" is a fraud. When chimpanzees create pieces of "art" as good as what passes for "modern art" it is an expression not of the talents of chimpanzees but of the lack of values of today's artistsï,¾and more broadly, a lack of values in today's culture. Perhaps the best indicator of the health of a community is its art. We need to start by defining what art is and is not. Art is a representation, through a creation of a particular subject based on the artist's moral values. Because it is based on moral values, art inspires us. It reaffirms our reason(s) for living. It is a depiction of what we revere and admire as individuals and as a community. A good movie will make us proud ïEUR make us feel good about ourselves. Whether paintings, novels, sculpture, architecture, theater or music, art depicts and expresses the good in man. When a creation does not inspire it is not art, certainly not good art, and when it insults us it represents an assault on our moral values. A community that has strong moral values will produce and enjoy good art. A community struggling with contradictions and amoral emptiness will produce and be subjected too art that does not inspire but instead insults people. Denver Art Museum, that opened in 2006, suffered from the very same problems. The museum is full of modern painting that have no subject, conveyed no inspiring ideals, and in some cases was deliberately intended to insult its viewers. A large piece of sculpture right at the entrance will illustrate. The sculpture represented an over scale broom, dust-pan, and some scraps of paper being swept up. Such an example of "art" does not require analysis, it can only convey one message, contempt for human intelligence and moral integrity. In such a culture, anything goes, anything can be justified as good or meaningful even when it is clearly neither. "Reality TV" is popular because television producers cannot, and don't have to find, any values or virtues to portray so that leaves them with no responsibility to the viewers, and may portray anything as entertainment including violence, sex, and crawling through worms demonstrated by bikini clad models. The difference over just the past fifty years is dramatic. I recently read the novel, The Runaway Jury, by John Grisham (1996). Not one character in the novel portrays an admirable quality of character. None of the characters are motivated by any healthy, worthwhile aspirations. The author, the publisher, and all the reviewers promoting this book had zero intention of projecting an inspiring view of humanity or human character. In stark contrast I watched a re-run of a 1950's Hopalong Cassidy television program. It was a story of a minority falsely accused of a murder. He was thrown into jail, but Hopalong and his companions did not buy the story against him. They pursued the case using courage and intelligence to expose the lies and identify the real killer. In the end the minority was freed and returned to his family. The whole episode was intended to illustrate the qualities of character that people are capable of applying to human events. That kind of television viewing was typical back when I was a child; today is it almost nonexistent. If someone wants to become famous, write a novel about a person accused of a crime where the prose-cutors are dedicated to doing the right thing, the defense team is dedicated to doing the right thing, and the jury does the right thing. For example, of a hard working citizen were charged with failure to pay income taxes. In order to write such a novel the author would have to know what constitutes the "right" thing. He would need a clear grasp of what is morally justified in all circumstances, for all people, at all times. He would have to have knowledge of what universals define moral behavior to make such a novel appealing for generations to come. All art is indeed a picture of a cultures character. Mens Fashion â How to Go Retro
It was the movie Janice and Morris and my wife wanted to see, so I tagged along despite my reluctance. I already knew I wouldn’t like it for a number of reasons, the main being that I had heard too many great things about it.
