25 Things to Use for Christmas Decorating

It's that time of year again! Doesn't it feel as though you've blinked and it's once again time to haul out the strings of lights, the pretty Christmas bulbs and ornaments, and the holiday displays?

1. Wreaths are a traditional decoration for Christmas, but the style of wreaths available today for the holidays are anything but traditional. Pine cones, pine boughs, and grapevines are all excellent foundations for Christmas wreaths. Decorate your wreath with birds, poinsettia blooms, berries, mini Christmas ornaments or bulbs and lights.

2. Battery-operated Christmas lights are ideal for hanging wreaths in any area of the home and avoiding unsightly electrical cords trailing down the wall. (Especially the new LED style of lights that last longer than traditional battery operated lights.)

3. Are you really creative? Create a Christmas wreath from past holiday-themed neckties, linen napkins, or even mismatched Christmas ornaments and ribbon for a look that is uniquely yours.

4. What is Christmas decorating without a Christmas tree? Most homes feature at the very least a large tree in a central location of the home, such as the living room, dining room, or den. Consider adding smaller Christmas trees in different areas of the house to bring cheer to every room. From torrid love affairs to wild affluent parties on bar stools, these films truly have it all. They're perfect for a cozy night in this winter and they are some of my favorite old movies.

The Graduate (1967)

The movie revolves around a confused, disillusioned recent college graduate (hence the title) named Ben Braddock. He moves back home after completing an impressive undergraduate career. His parents expect great things from and he’s faltering under the pressure. He runs into the wife of his father’s business partner Mrs. Robinson and they begin a torrid love affair. The affair eventually ends but comes back to haunt Ben when he falls for Mrs. Robinson’s daughter, Elaine.

The young Dustin Hoffman gives a great performance as a nervous, awkward young man worried about his future. The film also features a fantastic soundtrack with Simon and Garfunkel in the backdrop of many of the scenes. This movie is classic for its timeless themes and risky plotline.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)

This classic film begins with struggling young writer Paul Varjak moves into a New York apartment building. He quickly meets and becomes captivated by his beautiful and eccentric new neighbor Holly Golightly. She possesses an enigmatic air that is both sexy and sophisticated, but when Paul sees her alone, her vulnerable neuroses and insecurities become apparent.

Audrey Hepburn does a wonderful job playing the lovable, confused Holly. Her onscreen performance is mesmerizing. The film also features a few notable scenes, from Holly’s wild party to when she convinces Paul to shoplift which make this film a classic hit far ahead of it’s time.

For those naysayers who think that this series w/out Mr.Depp is WORTHLESS, I say:GET REAL!...

So what if series creator Stephen J. Cannell retired from the TV industry to write mysteries...maybe Jerry Bruckheimer can take over(but NOT use the Who to do the soundtracks!)!!!...
