There was such a magic on the screen in 1995 when the people at Pixar came up with the first fully computer-animated film, Toy Story. Their second feature film, A Bug's Life, may miss the bull's-eye but Pixar's target is so lofty, it's hard to find the film anything less than irresistible. Brighter and more colorful than the other animated insect movie of 1998 (Antz), A Bug's Life is the sweetly told story of Flik (voiced by David Foley), an ant searching for better ways to be a bug. His colony unfortunately revolves around feeding and fearing the local grasshoppers (lead by Hopper, voiced with gleeful menace by Kevin Spacey). When Flik accidentally destroys the seasonal food supply for the grasshoppers he decides to look for help ("We need bigger bugs!"). The ants, led by Princess Atta (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), are eager to dispose of the troublesome Flik. Yet he finds help--a hearty bunch of bug warriors--and brings them back to the colony. Unfortunately they are just traveling performers afraid of conflict. As with Toy Story, the ensemble of creatures and voices is remarkable and often inspired. Highlights include wiseacre comedian Denis Leary as an un-ladylike ladybug, Joe Ranft as the German-accented caterpillar, David Hyde Pierce as a stick bug, and Michael McShane as a pair of unintelligible pillbugs. The scene-stealer is Atta's squeaky-voiced sister, baby Dot (Hayden Panettiere), who has a big sweet spot for Flik. More gentle and kid-friendly than Antz, A Bug Life's still has some good suspense and a wonderful demise of the villain. However, the film--a giant worldwide hit--will be remembered for its most creative touch: "outtakes" over the end credits à la many live-action comedy films. These dozen or so scenes (both "editions" of outtakes are contained here) are brilliant and deserve a special place in film history right along with 1998's other most talked-about sequence: the opening Normandy invasion in Saving Private Ryan. The video and DVD also contain Pixar's delightful Oscar-winning short, Geri's Game. --Doug Thomas

Hollywood formula dictates that high school bookworm Casey (Michelle Trachtenberg) must struggle against both her own strong-willed mother (Joan Cusack) as well as her rival's (Kim Cattrall) in her quest to become a champion figure skater. It also inspires this soundtrack to be anchored by a rousing, against-all-odds anthem, "Reach," an infectious modern rocker by Caleigh Peters. Elsewhere, budding teen idol Jesse McCartney offers up the slick, 80's-inflected groove of "Get Your Shine On" while Michele Branch's "You Set Me Free" and "I Fly" by co-star Hayden Panetierre are infused with an inviting, harmony-rich contemporary sheen. Disney's penchant for energetic teeny-pop is showcased via Emma Roberts, Superchick and Natasha Bedingfield. But it's also an album eclectic enough to include the unabashed retro-Broadway charms of Lucy Woodward's "It's Oh So Quiet" and the more modern melodrama of Diana DeGarmo's "Reachin' For Heaven." --Jerry McCulley

CD digipac with 64-page booklet. An astonishing first CD reissue of rockabilly and rock'n'roll music recorded by DELTA RECORDS of Jackson, Mississippi! 30 rare and rocking sides recorded between 1957 and the late 60s by Jimmie Ammons at his DELTA Recording Studio a converted garage next to a cow pasture. Every track is previously unissued (unless you count rare custom pressings). Contains a rare first ever disc by Warner Mack plus the first four recordings ever made by Andy Anderson and the Rolling Stones! Features the cream of 1950s Jackson rock 'n' rollers - including Rick Richardson, the Red Counts, Cool Cat Cannon, Alton Lott and many others! The 64-page booklet by Martin Hawkins contains the first ever retrospective of the career of studio engineer and music promoter Jimmie Ammons, and the artists he issued on his DELTA label and other labels. The booklet also contains many previously-unseen photographs!Today - fifty-five years after the emergence of rock 'n' roll and thirty-five years since rockabilly began to be reissued seriously in LP and CD compilations - it seems like pretty much everything that could possibly be issued, has been. But then along comes this CD chock-full of unissued music from the DELTA Recording Co. of Jackson, Mississippi. It provides an overview of the rockabilly and rock 'n' roll music recorded at DELTA between 1957 and 1964. Very few of these recordings were issued at the time although some were issued as custom pressings to be sold at live shows and others were used as demos to pitch to other record labels. Together, they tell a quality tale of the movement from SUN-style rockabilly to fully fledged rockers and rockaballads, touching later on gospel and folk influences. And the big thing is this: Most of the artists are new names to the reissue scene, and their music is remarkably exciting and worthwhile. This is an important CD, at last filling a void in the story of Mississippi music and rock 'n' roll in general.

Dinosaurs come alive like never before in this costly computer-animated film from Disney. After a breathtaking opening (a dino egg is kidnapped), the film changes style; realistic dinosaurs are given human characteristics and voices. The kidnapped egg grows into an iguanodon named Aladar (voiced by D.B. Sweeney), who is raised by lemurs (shades of Tarzan) on a lush island void of other dinosaurs. When a meteorite destroys their island home in a thrilling sequence, the lemur family and Aladar become part of a dinosaur troop roaming the mainland deserts looking for the lush nesting grounds (shades of the fourth installment of the Land Before Time series and Fantasia). Disney's usual mix of modern language (one lemur calls himself "a love monkey") is present, as is its typical capital punishment law: anyone against our forward-thinking hero (or even disagreeing with him) ends up dead. Curiously, the meanies, a pair of carnotaurs following the group, are nameless and voiceless. This more realistic approach might have been a bigger wow, as in the BBC's Walking with Dinosaurs, which looked extraordinary with only a fraction of the budget. The complexity and scope of Dinosaur's visual scale is impressive, and group shots and a point-of-view angle are stunning. Rated PG for general intensity, the film should be a favorite for the 6- to 11-year-old set. --Doug Thomas
Disney's spectacular animated adventure is set 65 million years ago at the end of the Age of Reptiles, as an abandoned baby iguanodon named Aladar is adopted by a family of lemurs. Years later, after the Earth is showered by meteors, Aladar and his furry "brother" Zini lead a herd of various dinosaur species on a dangerous journey to find a new home. D.B. Sweeney, Ossie Davis, Julianna Margulies, and Joan Plowright provide the voices. 82 min. Widescreen; Soundtracks: English 5.1 Uncompressed, DTS 5.1, Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1, French Dolby Digital 5.1; English (SDH), Spanish, French; audio commentary; featurette; bonus short "Origins" (2006).

Here are some more information for Hayden Panettiere:

Heroes' Star Panettiere Campaigns to Save the Whales
Heroes’ actress Hayden Panattiere spends her free time campaigning for the Save the Whales Again! program. Just recently, she went to Washington , D.C. and spoke for a DuPont Circle rally regarding their stand on prohibiting commercial whaling. Panettiere, an official spokeswoman for the project, remains active in the battle for the fair and humane treatment of whales.
The protest is mainly against Japan , Norway and Iceland , where whale slaughtering is prominent. According to Panattiere, the animals are not only being cruelly slaughtered, the meat is also contaminated with huge amounts of mercury.
Panattiere also attended a press conference with Congressman Nick Rahall, Chris Shays and Senator John Kerry, calling on the Bush Admin to take part in the International Whaling Commission. They are urging the government to make economic and diplomatic stand against the practices of the above-mentioned countries.
Panattiere also lectured at Georgetown University and encouraged the youth to get involved. “Whales face increasing threats from climate change, ship strikes, entanglement in nets, and chemical and noise pollution, yet Japan , Norway and Iceland continue to kill them in increasing numbers,” she said. “I am here to talk with officials who actually make and carry out our policies, as well as fellow young people who will be voting in the upcoming election. Polls show that 59% of Americans would be more willing to vote for a candidate who takes a strong stand on whaling- I want our voice to be heard!”
Panattiere is known to be active when it comes to marine issues. Last October 2007, she participated in a paddle-out ceremony to honor the spirits of the brutally killed aquatic animals. Joining Isabel Lucas, Peter Heller, Karina Petroni and couples Dave and Hannah Rastovich, she risked injury and arrest when the group tried to expose the dolphin-killing in Japan , where 25,000 dolphins were reportedly killed each year. They were allegedly harassed by local fishermen who were responsible for the killings. No less than 30 policemen also stopped them on their way home, questioning their intents and checking their passports. Another major story that hit the newsstands was when a warrant arrest was issued for Panattiere. This happened after she went to Japan and actually confronted the fishermen there.

What products should I use to get skin clear and soft like Hayden Panettiere?
Heyy I'm 14 and I'd really like to get clear and soft skin like Hayden's. What products do you recommend?
here's a link:
http://www.hbo.com/films/normal/img/castandcrew/506x315_hayden_panettiere.jpg
well, she uses (or at least advertises) neutrigina (or however you spell it) but i've heard that clearisil (or however you spell it) and that one jessica simpson uses....crap...what's it called? proactive! those are both supposed to work, so you kind of need to experiment. keep in mind that she probably also has make-up and stuff done to make her skin look better than it is, but i know wat you're going through. i'm 13 and my face is like a stress zone if you know wat i mean, it's horrible! so let me know if you find something that rox or try one i suggested (that i haven't tried) and if i try em, i'll let you know how they worked for me too?
good luck!
