AM/FM is an intimate, elegant and beautifully sung collection of classics from the '60s and '70s that together, make up the soundtrack to her life. "The song sequence on the album tells a story of a very innocent, idealized version of love in the `AM' section, before it shifts to the `FM' section and becomes more about the disillusionment that happens after you've had some heartbreaks," Rita says. The album contains 14 tracks, carefully curated by Wilson along with her producer Fred Mollin. The album is essentially divided into two sections. The first half, "AM," features songs from the '60s that Wilson remembers singing along to on AM radio while riding in the back seat of her parents' car and that recall the "lovely innocence and hopefulness of the time": "All I Have To Do Is Dream," "Never My Love" and "Cherish," "Come See About Me," "Angel Of The Morning," "Walking In The Rain," "Wichita Lineman" (written by Jimmy Webb who also plays piano on Wilson's version), and "You Were On My Mind." By the time Wilson got her own car (a Datsun 2000 Roadster) at age 17, popular music lived on FM radio. She became enamored with the folk-rock singer-songwriters who dominated those airwaves in the early '70s and her favorite songs make up the "FM" half: "Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues" , "Love Has No Pride," "Please Come To Boston", "Will You Love Me Tomorrow", "Faithless Love" and "River." "As I got older, I began to understand that not everything had a happy ending," Rita says, "so I was drawn to songs by women who wrote about how love was not always the dream fantasy; that there was pain and disappointment involved." AM/FM, was recorded last spring at the legendary Capitol Records Studio A in Hollywood. Augmenting Rita's exquisite vocal performances are appearances by special guests Chris Cornell, Sheryl Crow, Jimmy Webb, Jackson Browne, Faith Hill, Vince Gill, and Patti Scialfa (who also produced "Come See About Me").

Disney's 1959 animated effort was the studio's most ambitious to date, a widescreen spectacle boasting a gorgeous waltz-filled score adapting Tchaikovsky. In the 14th century, the malevolent Maleficent (not dissimilar to the wicked Queen in Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs taunts a king that his infant Aurora will fatally prick her finger on a spinning wheel before sundown on her 16th birthday. This, of course, would deny her a happily-ever-after with her true love. Things almost but not quite turn out that way, thanks to the assistance of some bubbly, bumbling fairies named Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. It's not really all that much about the title character--how interesting can someone in the middle of a long nap be, anyway? Instead, those fairies carry the day, as well as, of course, good Prince Phillip, whose battle with the malevolent Maleficent in the guise of a dragon has been co-opted by any number of animated films since. See it in its original glory here. And Malificent's castle, filled with warthogs and demonic imps in a macabre dance celebrating their evil ways, manages a certain creepy grandeur. --David Kronke On the Blu-raySleeping Beauty was the last and most lavish of Walt Disney's animated fairy tales. He told the artists not to hurry and to give him "a moving illustration": The film required almost four and one-half years and one million finished drawings. Instead of the 19th century storybook illustrations that had influenced the look of Snow White and Pinocchio, the artists adapted the flattened perspective and jewel-like colors of 15th century French illuminated manuscripts. The results remain unmatched for sheer visual opulence. However, Sleeping Beauty suffers from a weak story: the vision of an ageless princess slumbering in a vine-shrouded tower was replaced with elements of Snow White and a boy-meets-girl musical. The evil Maleficent and the three Good Fairies (Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather) dominate the film, rather than Princess Aurora and Prince Philip. Sleeping Beauty was originally released in 70mm, and the Blu-ray edition restores the film to its original splendor. (Many earlier releases trimmed the wide-screen images and/or muted the glowing palatte.) The Bonus DVD looks good on a flat screen monitor, but it pales in comparison to the richness of the Blu-ray. In addition to the commentaries and a making-of documentary, the set includes myriad extras that vary widely in quality. Nostalgia buffs will enjoy the recreation of the old Sleeping Beauty's Castle attraction in Disneyland, and the TV program "Four Artists Paint One Tree" provides a welcome showcase for key talents from the film. But the CG animation of the dragon and the voice imitations of the Good Fairies fail to capture the magic of the originals in the "Dragon Encounter"; the "Maleficent's Challenge Game"--a hi-tech Twenty Questions--sounds only vaguely like the redoubtable sorceress. The BD-Live features require an awful lot of bother: after wading through (or ignoring) 130 screens of legalese, participants must enter their Social Security number or other personal information in the drawn-out sign-on process. Once that's finally done, viewers can send special messages to pop up during the film, chat online with others who are watching, and view it in synch with others. The question is whether or not you want to. (Rated G: violence) --Charles Solomon Stills from Sleeping Beauty (Click for larger image)
A beautiful princess born in a faraway kingdom is destined by a terrible curse to prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and fall into a deep sleep which can only be awakened by true love's first kiss. Though the titular princess is on par with the rest of Disney's essential heroines, most of the fun arises from the trio of charming fairies entrusted with her care: Flora, Fauna, and Meriweather. Meanwhile the evil Malificent may just be Disney's most chilling villainess. This classic makes wondrous use of Tchaikovsky's same-titled ballet score, which earned SLEEPING BEAUTY an Academy Award nomination for Best Scoring of a Musical Picture.

Another made-for-video sequel to a Disney masterpiece. As with the Beauty and the Beast and Pocahontas sequels, most of the recognizable vocal talents return, creating a worthwhile successor to the highest-grossing animated film ever. We pick up the story as the lion king, Simba (voiced by Matthew Broderick), and Nala (Moira Kelly) have a new baby cub, a girl named Kiara (Neve Campbell). Like her father before, she seeks adventure and ends up outside the Pridelands, where lions loyal to the evil Scar (who died in the original) have lived with revenge in their hearts. The leader, Zira (a spunky turn from Suzanne Pleshette), schemes to use her son Kovu (Jason Marsden) to destroy Simba. As luck with have it, Kiara has bumped into Kovu and fallen in love. This all sounds familiar since all of Disney's straight-to-video sequels have played it very safe, nearly repeating the originals' story, tone, and pace. Perhaps there were too many cooks for this production. Besides the two screenplay credits, there are eight other writers credited for additional written material. The look of the film has none of the surprise of the original but is far superior to other animated videos. In fact, the film played in European theaters. For kids, the sequel will be a favorite. The comic antics of Timon (Nathan Lane) and Pumba (Ernie Sabella) are enjoyable, as is Andy Dick as Nuka, the mixed-up older son of Zira. And there's plenty of action. The best element is the music. Relying on more African-influenced music, the five songs featured are far superior to those in Disney's other sequels. Zira's song of revenge, "My Lullaby," was cowritten by Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon. The standout opening number, "He Lives in You," was created for the Lion King Broadway smash and now finds a whole new audience. --Doug Thomas

An entire generation of baby boomers grew up with this stagy but magical production, which originated on Broadway but was broadcast several times on TV. They may not know Mary Martin or Cyril Ritchard--two staples of the commercial theater in their time--for any other reason, but they'll always be able to name them as Peter Pan and Captain Hook. The story of the boy who wouldn't grow up includes a classic score with songs that can bring a tear of nostalgia to the eye of the middle-aged--like "I Won't Grow Up," "I've Gotta Crow," and "Neverland." The flying, the goofy comedy--it's all there in this video version of the classic TV broadcast. It's hard to know what sophisticated modern youngsters would make of it, but their parents will gladly sit and watch with them. --Marshall Fine

In 1960s Mississippi, a young journalist (Emma Stone) decides to write a book about the black maids who have spent their lives taking care of white children. As the best friend of one of the employers (Bryce Dallas Howard), she faces the risk of being shunned by her society friends--all of whom have servants gathering the courage to participate in the secret literary project. Adapted from the Kathryn Stockett novel, this comedy-drama co-stars Viola Davis and Best Supporting Actress Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer. 146 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, DVS Dolby Digital stereo, French Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1; Subtitles: English (SDH), French, Spanish; deleted scenes; music video.
There are male viewers who will enjoy The Help, but Mississippi native Tate Taylor aims his adaptation squarely at the female readers who made Kathryn Stockett's novel a bestseller. If the multi-character narrative revolves around race relations in the Kennedy-era South, the perspective belongs to the women. Veteran maid Aibileen (Doubt's Viola Davis in an Oscar-worthy performance) provides the heartfelt narration that brackets the story. A widow devastated by the death of her son, she takes pride in the 17 children she has helped to raise, but she's hardly fulfilled. That changes when Skeeter (Easy A's Emma Stone) returns home after college. Unlike her peers, Skeeter wants to work, so she gets a job as a newspaper columnist. But she really longs to write about Jackson's domestics, so she meets with Aibileen in secret--after much cajoling and the promise of anonymity. When Aibileen's smart-mouthed friend Minny (breakout star Octavia Spencer) breaches her uptight employer's protocol, Hilly (Bryce Dallas Howard) gives her the boot, and she ends up in the employ of local outcast Celia (Jessica Chastain, hilarious and heartbreaking), who can't catch a break due to her dirt-poor origins. After the murder of Medgar Evers, even more maids, Minny among them, bring their stories to Skeeter, leading to a book that scandalizes the town--in a good way. Not since Steel Magnolias has Hollywood produced a Southern woman's picture more likely to produce buckets of tears (and almost as many laughs). --Kathleen C. Here are some more information for Girl From:

Directed by Anne Fontaine, from a screenplay by Fontaine and Benoît Graffin, The Girl From Monaco suffers from an identity crisis. It could have been a great romantic comedy on the back of the masterful performance by Fabrice Luchini, playing the part of professionally successful but personally hapless attorney Bertrand Beauvois. Parisian Beauvois takes a high profile murder case in the principality of Monaco, only to land in the crosshairs of ambitious weathergirl Audrey Varella, played by the lovely and perhaps talented Louise Bourgoin. I say perhaps because the only role in this film with more than one dimension to it went to Luchini. It's hard to see an actor's range when they aren't given more than one or two emotions to portray, and Bourgoin is reduced to giggling and pouting her way throughout the film. Audrey sees stardom in her future, and Beauvois is the rocket ship on which she'll arrive. Coming between the two is the bodyguard Christophe Abadi (Roschdy Zem, who is only allowed to scowl in the film), hired by the family of the widowed accused murderer to protect Beauvois from the Russian mafia.
I mentioned that this film would have made a fine romantic comedy only because that is the direction it was heading in the first act of the movie. In subsequent acts it also had the potential to be a drama or a courtroom thriller, but it seems that Fontaine reached a bit too far and went for all three. It could be that the mistakes were made in the editing room by Maryline Monthieux (whoever edited the televised version of French Kiss hacked it up so badly that Kevin Kline's character went from being a romantic to a rapist), but with Fontaine's role as director and screenwriter the final responsibility for this movie must rest on her shoulders.
The Girl from Monaco has its charms. The location shots were beautiful, the pacing of the film was superb, and the casting was dead on. My biggest overall problem with this movie was that it ended on such a false note. Luchini's performance was wonderfully nuanced and elevated the material, but as the closing credits rolled I felt disappointment and a little sadness for the film that could have been.

Fun Accessories for a Flower Girl Dress
The flower girl will play one of the most important roles in your wedding and will undoubtedly draw special attention from guests in attendance. There is a wide variety of adorable accessories to dress your flower girl in that will have her feeling and looking great.
For the most part, the flower girl does not need much in the way of jewelry. Jewelry is not usually considered appropriate for a very young flower girl. Even if you have a slightly older flower girl, between the ages of eight and ten, it is seldom appropriate for them to showcase a great deal of jewelry. For most flower girls, the best accessories are understated.
Flowers and Petals
If your flower girl is planning on carrying a bouquet of flowers, it is a charming addition to have her carry a smaller version of the brides’ bouquet. If you have decided that your flower girl is going to carry a basket of flowers instead, then it is important to decide on the color and style of the basket you want her to use. Generally a white or wicker basket is the best choice for the flower girl to carry. For this part of the wedding procession, note that the flower girl herself is the star of the show, so opt for choosing a basket that is not too eye-catching or over-the-top.
It is also important to strategically choose the flowers that she will be gently scattering on the isle toward the alter. There is an abundance of flowers to choose from, from rose petals to lilies.
Gloves and Shoes
When it comes to shoes for your flower girl, the most important aspect is comfort. While the shoes should be appropriate for the dress, it is crucial for the flower girl to be comfortable so that she will not be unhappy or fussy during the ceremony. Simple ballerina slippers are perfect for a flower girl of any age, and your flower girl will not have to worry about uncomfortable straps or laces.
If your flower girl will be comfortable and happy using gloves, they are also an adorable additive that can complete your flower girl look. Many brides dress their flower girls in gloves if they are wearing gloves as well, in attempts to tie the bridal theme together. Gloves are not usually suitable for very young children.
Younger children might be inclined to tear them off and throw them on the floor halfway through the ceremony if they are bothered by them. However, if your flower girl is old enough to wear gloves, and is enthusiastic about the idea, they make a great accessory and will make her feel more like part of the bridal party. Wrist-length gloves are most appropriate for young girls, and should be chosen in the same color as the dress.
Bows, Ribbons, and Sashes
If you like to use accessories to emphasize a theme or color scheme, then using bows, ribbons, and sashes is a great way to do this for your flower girl. These accessories can look beautiful on most flower girls. A bow or sash accented in the same color as your bridal party is an excellent way to pull together your flower girl’s look to complement the entire bridal party.
Headpieces
Headpieces can be a fun accessory to use for your flower girl. You have an endless array of options when choosing a flower girl’s hair style, and adding a headpiece such as a mini-veil or tiara can only add to the endearing final look. However, many of the accessories that you can use for your flower girl will not be appropriate for your bridesmaids.
A cute tiara or a garland of flowers can look enchanting on a flower girl while making her feel like a very special part of your big day. Try to remember to keep the hairstyle and accessories relatively simple and to not over-do the look. An overly elaborate hairstyle may even make her feel a bit uncomfortable.
Out of the Ordinary
Accessories such as bolero jackets or wraps can look gorgeous on a flower girl, and are ideal for fall and winter weddings where the weather is a little cooler. A knit, satin, lace, or brocade bolero jacket is a great way to accessorize a white or plain-color dress. Make sure to choose a fabric that will not irritate your flower girl’s skin.
There is an abundance of accessories to choose from that will enable your flower girl to appear as the princess that she really is. The right combination of accessories can complete the perfect look of your flower girl and have her feeling and looking great.
