Greet your guests with a haunted house of your own! Hang cobwebs and plastic bats and spiders purchased at local party supply stores. Set up scarecrow, skeleton, and witch cutouts on the wall. Kids can come to the party dressed up in their favorite costumes and you can hand out prizes to each child based on "Most Creative", "Most Scary", etc.

Savor some "ghost toasts" by carving ghost shapes out of pieces of bread and topping them with cream cheese and raisins for the eyes and mouth. Make a ghouly green witches' brew for a drink by adding food coloring (green, orange, or any other color) to milk.

As fun as trick-or-treating is, play some Halloween games that can be just as exciting! "Clammy Eyeball" is a twist on "Hot Potato", but instead of a potato, use a peeled and slimy hard-boiled egg! While music plays, pass (or gently throw!) the egg from one person to another. When the music stops, the person holding the egg is out. You can also put together a "Black Cat Scavenger Hunt". Purchase adorable black beany cats at a local toy store and hide them around the house as clue stations in a scavenger hunt. Each cat will have a clue attached to the collar that will lead children to the next cat with a clue, and so on, until they reach the final treasure stash-which can be an assortment of candy or a black beany cat for each child!

Pumpkin carving is another classic craft activity. You can even glue on felt and plastic eyes to add as more decorations or paint your pumpkins! The Family Fun magazine has a whole online section dedicated to great pumpkin carving and craft ideas.

Before you send the kids off trick-or-treating, "treat" them to a party favor! Take tiny clay pots, paint them black and write each child's name on the pot in orange. Fill the pot with candy corns and ghosts made out of peanut-shaped cookies frosted white with black frosting eyes and smiles for a Happy Halloween! I got a JVC projection tv from a neighbor because it displays everything in ghost green lines. Help me fix it!

Picture is good except the mass of green lines. The model # is AV-48WP74. Any Ideas???

Not sure without seeing it, but do the lines run slightly uphill and present throughout the entire picture? If so, then horizontal retrace is not switching off as it should. No big deal for a repair shop to fix but not something you can do for yourself.
