how is the Jolly green giant statue economically impacted?

the statue is in Blue Earth Minnesota and i can't figure out how it impacts U.S. history economically. can anyone please help me it would be much appreciated.

This sounds like one of those silly questions. I hope it did not come from your teacher. If it did, change school quick!

My grand-pappy told me that Art Buchwald wrote a piece in the Washington Post saying that the GGG was the first colored person to get a job on Madison Avenue / in advertising. He was the first colored guy who had a job that was not in sport or entertainment, Another great first for the fatherland! (It was very funny at the time and a famous attack on the employment practices of the time).

It is also believed that the GGG was what Santa Claus did in the summer. The give away was all he said was, "Ho1 Ho! Ho!". It MUST be true. And Minnesota is full of Scandinavians.

The statues only economic impact was to the company that made it and in its attracting a surprising number of people to the town of Blue Earth. It also got the town loads of publicity and still does.

Only trouble is that I can't even place Minnesota. Must be near Sotagrande.
