Ginsu 04817 International Traditions 14-Piece Knife Set with Block, Natural Ginsu 04817 International Traditions 14-Piece Knife Set with Block, Natural
List Price: $49.99
Sale Price: $27.60

Many associate Ginsu knives with the product’s kitschy infomercial from the ‘70s that begins with a karate kick to a watermelon and proceeds with a demo of these knives cutting through just about anything in the house. Like the original product, Ginsu’s International Traditions is designed for the home cook who is not attuned to the maintenance required of a more high-end knife. However, this line is an improvement on the original, offering the weight, balance, and style of a commercial-quality knife, while meeting current design trends and performance expectations. This 14-piece set stocks a kitchen with most cutlery needs, and packs all knives in a contemporary black hardwood storage block. The set includes: an 8-inch chef’s knife, an 8-inch slicer, a 7-inch santoku knife, a 5-1/2-inch boning knife, a 5-inch utility knife, a 3-1/2-inch paring knife, and six 4-1/2-inch steak knives, plus a pair of shears. Ginsu blades are constructed from stainless steel and feature a two-dimensional serrated edge that is symmetrically cut on either side for more accurate slicing and for either right- or left-handed use. Edges are still as low-maintenance as ever and never require sharpening. The blades have full tangs that extend through lightweight bakelite handles and are triple-riveted for strength. Ginsu covers these International Traditions knives under a limited, lifetime warranty and recommends manual cleaning with hot, soapy water to keep them in top shape. What’s in the Box3-1/2-inch paring knife, 5-inch utility knife, 5-1/2-inch boning knife, 7-inch santoku knife, 8-inch slicer, 8-inch chef’s knife, six 4-1/2-inch steak knives, shears, hardwood block

Eagles : The Very Best Of (2CD) Eagles : The Very Best Of (2CD)
List Price: $19.98
Sale Price: $13.25

Our Seller's Notes and Fine Print :...From Asylum, like NEW in good shape TWO CD in digipak..

This packed double-disc is the slim option for fans who find the Eagles' vaunted greatest hits sets too little and the boxed set too hefty. Hit singles large and medium are here, often ("One of These Nights," "Hotel California") still sounding definitive and even tough. Large helpings of favorite album cuts are also included, along with a taster from a promised 2004 Eagles studio reunion. Unfortunately, "Hole in the World," Don Henley's response to September 11, feels just as empty and entitled as "Get Over It," the band's previous state-of-the-union message (from which the newer song represents a philosophical 180-degree turn). But for those seeking an overview of this Southern California juggernaut's successes, as well as telling comments from band members--mostly Henley and Frey--in a well-designed booklet, Very Best will more than do. --Rickey Wright

Augmenting 1972's Greatest Hits with additional tracks, Best of... now stands as the preeminent one-disc introduction to the music of Simon & Garfunkel. Containing everything Greatest Hits offered except for the live version of "59th Street Bridge Song" (the original studio hit resurfaces here) and the incandescent "Kathy's Song," the updated retrospective boasts 20 tracks, in contrast to its predecessor's 14 selections. Added to the mix are the likes of "Hazy Shade of Winter," "The Only Living Boy in New York," "Song for the Asking," and "My Little Town," a one-off the twosome did five years after they ended their phenomenally successful partnership. Remastered from the original source tapes, Best of... also boasts far superior sound to the earlier hits collection. --Steven Stolder

When it was released during Hollywood's golden year of 1939,The Wizard of Oz didn't start out as the perennial classic it has since become. The film did respectable business, but it wasn't until its debut on television that this family favorite saw its popularity soar. And while Oz's TV broadcasts are now controlled by media mogul Ted Turner (who owns the rights), the advent of home video has made this lively musical a mainstay in the staple diet of great American films. Young Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland), her dog, Toto, and her three companions on the Yellow Brick Road to Oz--the Tin Man (Jack Haley), the Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr), and the Scarecrow (Ray Bolger)--have become pop-culture icons and central figures in the legacy of fantasy for children. As the Wicked Witch who covets Dorothy's enchanted ruby slippers, Margaret Hamilton has had the singular honor of scaring the wits out of children for more than six decades. The film's still as fresh, frightening, and funny as it was when first released. It may take some liberal detours from the original story by L. Frank Baum, but it's loyal to the Baum legacy while charting its own course as a spectacular film. Shot in glorious Technicolor, befitting its dynamic production design (Munchkinland alone is a psychedelic explosion of color and décor), The Wizard of Oz may not appeal to every taste as the years go by, but it's required viewing for kids of all ages. --Jeff Shannon

Downton Abbey (Original UK Edition) Downton Abbey (Original UK Edition)
List Price: $34.99
Sale Price: $16.16

An addictive blend of suds and social commentary, ITV's Downton Abbey brings a microcosm of Edwardian society together under one roof. Lord Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville) and his family live a life of leisure, while a fleet of servants, including butler Carson (Jim Carter), attend to their every need, but two events conspire to shake things up: the sinking of the Titanic, which claims Crawley's heirs, and the return of his valet, Bates (Brendan Coyle). Since Crawley and Lady Cora (Elizabeth McGovern) have three daughters, his distant solicitor cousin, Matthew (Dan Stevens), becomes heir to the estate. With that, the scheming begins, since Thomas the footman (Rob James-Collier) views Bates as an interloper and Crawley's mother, Violet (Maggie Smith), feels the same way about Matthew's mother, Isobel (Penelope Wilton). In the tradition of the BBC's Upstairs Downstairs and Robert Altman's Gosford Park, for which writer-creator Julian Fellowes received an Academy Award, the royals, servants, and middle-class relations struggle to get along. Sniffs uptight maid Miss O'Brien (Siobhan Finneran), "Gentlemen don't work," but that doesn't stop Mary (Michelle Dockery) and Edith Crawley (Laura Carmichael) from competing for Matthew's affections. Though it takes awhile to warm up to the tightest-wound characters, most everyone reveals their more vulnerable side before the first season comes to an end, and a new small-screen classic is born. The entire sprawling cast is quite wonderful, particularly Bonneville, Carter, and James-Collier, who provide a fascinating study in contrasts (the latter is downright dastardly). Unlike the version that aired on PBS's Masterpiece Classic, this set offers seven parts rather than four. Extras include a featurette, in which cast and crew discuss the production, and an introduction to Hampshire's Highclere Castle, which doubles for Downton Abbey. The first season was a phenomenon in the United Kingdom, and Fellowes has promised a second season set during World War I. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in a big way in this pulse-pounding sequel. This time he's a reprogrammed T-800 who not only defends Sarah Connor's (Linda Hamilton) young son John (Edward Furlong) from a highly advanced Terminator (Robert Patrick) with the ability to change its shape, but must also fight to prevent a cataclysmic event that will destroy human civilization. Oscar-winning special effects and non-stop action highlight this smash hit from director James Cameron. R-rated version; 135 min./Extended version; 152 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1 EX, French Dolby Digital stereo; Subtitles: English (SDH), French, Spanish; audio commentary by Cameron others; behind-the-scenes footage; storyboards; trivia; games; more.

Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as The Terminator in this explosive action-adventure spectacle. Now he's one of the good guys, sent back in time to protect John Connor, the boy destined to lead the freedom fighters of the future. Linda Hamilton reprises her role as Sarah Connor, John's mother, a quintessential survivor who has been institutionalized for her warning of the nuclear holocaust she knows is inevitable. Together, the threesome must find a way to stop the ultimate enemy - the T-1000, the most lethal Terminator ever created. Co- written, produced and directed by James Cameron (The Terminator, Aliens, Titanic), this visual tour de force is also a touching human story of survival.

Mission: Impossible--Ghost Protocol Mission: Impossible--Ghost Protocol
List Price: $29.99
Sale Price: $7.46

In the exciting fourth entry in the successful action series, an attack on the Kremlin leaves IMF agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his team falsely accused of international terrorism. Forced to go underground, they must race against time to clear their names while trying to stop a plot to orchestrate a nuclear war between the United States and Russia. Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, Michael Nyqvist, and, in a cameo, Ving Rhames co-star in director Brad Bird's first live-action film. 132 min. Widescreen; Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, French Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1; Subtitles: English, French, Spanish; featurette; deleted scenes.

The second half of the first decade of the 21st century has been kind of tough for Tom Cruise. That's tough in a way over and above the hardship of living the legacy of one of history's top movie stars--a job more demanding than any mere mortal could imagine. But after two fruitful collaborations with Steven Spielberg (Minority Report and War of the Worlds), his stature took a beating from the one-two hits of those wacky PR gaffes and that string of relative box-office disappointments (Lions for Lambs, Valkyrie, Knight and Day), which seemed to start with the third installment of his Mission: Impossible franchise in 2006. It's hard to say with a straight face that taking in only $398 million worldwide is a disappointment, but it was a low for the series, which some later saw as a prelude to his potentially dimming stardom. But on the cusp of turning 50, it looks like Tom Cruise has put the licking behind him and entered a new phase of self-conception with an upcoming array of roles, starting with a more maturely controlled version of superspy Ethan Hunt in the sleek and supercharged Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. The things Cruise has done right in M: I part four include toning down his youthful, arrogant preening and letting his castmates share more of the spotlight (Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, and Simon Pegg all have some terrifically shiny moments). He also lets the unique creative vision of director Brad Bird shine through in a first live-action outing for the acclaimed helmer of Iron Giant, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille. Still looking much younger than his years (that hair! those pecs! those abs!), Cruise is playing more age-appropriately, letting a little wisdom and grace seep into his charisma so the wattage of his mere presence smolders a little deeper. It's a nice nod to a graying generation that says you can get older and still be cool. All that is not to say he doesn't play up his action-star chops to the max. In a mostly inconsequential narrative arc that has something to do with purloined nuclear launch codes, an important metal briefcase, satellite uplinks, and global annihilation that leaps from Moscow to Dubai to Mumbai, Cruise is as dangerously nimble as he has ever been. He dangles one-handed from the tallest building in the world, bounds off ledges, springs out of speeding vehicles, tumbles and careens up and down the levels of an automated parking garage, and generally sprints and jumps his way across the movie with only a scratch or bruise to show for it. Also on the outlandish upside is a happily stereotypical villain straight out of Connery-era Bond and as many bleeding-edge gadgets as the art department techno-geeks could dream up. A running gag is that many of these electronic fantasy tools fail at just the wrong moment, which is part of a larger wink acknowledging how utterly preposterous yet ingeniously conceived this behemoth of a movie really is. The gadgetry is not limited just to the miraculous props. Ghost Protocol employs CGI fakery of the highest order from the sub-industry of effects contractors that ratchet up the standard of computing power and software design, one-upping each successive action-adventure extravaganza. The loving detail that goes into blowing up the Kremlin or rendering a photo-realistic sandstorm erupting across the enhanced skyline of an Oz-like desert city is nothing short of miraculous. What's more astonishing is that Tom Cruise closes the deal with a selling power that's as new and improved as the laminates on his multi-million-dollar teeth. --Ted Fry

Clif Bar is named after my father, Clifford, my childhood hero and companion throughout the Sierra Nevada mountains. In 1990, I lived in a garage with my dog, skis, climbing gear, bicycle and two trumpets. The inspiration to create an energy bar occurred during a day-long, 175-mile ride with my buddy, Jay. We'd been gnawing on some other energy bars. Suddenly, despite my hunger, I couldn't take another bite. That's the moment I now call the epiphany. Two years later, after countless hours in Mom's kitchen, Clif Bar became a reality. And the mission to create a better-tasting energy bar was accomplished. Thanks, Mom! Clif Bar has grown since 1990, and still the spirit of adventure that began on that ride continues to thrive each day. As the company evolves, we face many choices, yet we always do our best to take care of our people, our community and our environment. - Gary, owner of Clif Bar. "My co-workers a Team?" "My co-workers working in more harmony?" Do you sometimes have this wish? Is it a deep desire? A hope? Do you wish you and your coworkers could be a better team for productivity and efficiency? Well, here is a quick and fairly easy way to have members communicate without having to say anything to each other. Their synergy and cooperation will improve. Strange but true.

So often time is lost and help is misplaced because almost everyone has a different idea of what is the "correct" list of priorities or the "really" important thing that needs to get done. It isn't really a problem that we all see it differently in life. In fact, it is part of what makes us so creative and inventive as a species.

But when we are all working within a project, it is important that all the vectors or directions of energy are creating common momentum moving us in our purposeful direction. This will get the job done and keep us all having a job. The sum of our efforts needs to be beneficial to everyone who is working together. If we are going to continue over time to succeed as a group, company, enterprise, or organization, we need to pull together.

So at the next lunch or work group meeting use the following exercise:

Tell the group you have a ten to fifteen minute exercise you want them to do. And although as individuals you may talk to each other about the exercise, you will not be doing that as a group.

Have a piece of 8 1/2 by 11 paper for each person. Ask them to write two sentences on the paper. One sentence at the top and one sentence in the middle of the page. (depending on the size of the group - make sets of ten people to a group or less, since this works best in groups of ten or less)

No names just the two sentences, one at the top and one in the middle.

At the top write:

1) What task or achievement do you wish you had more assistance with in your assigned job responsibilities? Just what is it you wish you had more help with?

then leave space and write in the middle of the page:

2) What task or job responsibility do you have the most difficulty getting help with or asking for help or assistance with?

After each person has finished writing their sentences ( give them 2 to 3 minutes to write both sentences, this is quick, rapid, not the "right" two things they could write in either category)

Now have them pass the paper to the person on their right. Each person, as they get the other's paper, writes one quick phrases or sentence under each of the two original sentences. 1) and 2)

The writing instruction: "Write something supportive or understanding of what the other person wrote. It can be an idea, a solution, a piece of the puzzle. Or write something you can do to help or support."

Give them a minute for each sentences and then have them all at once, pass the paper to the right, again. Do this for ten minutes. Write pass, write pass, write pass, write pass, write pass.

When the time is up, get the papers back to the person that wrote the original sentences 1) & 2).

That's it for this meeting. Next week or meeting, ask anyone or all of them (Leader's choice), "What did you learn newly about being part of our team and how important you are to the whole team and getting the job done? (Or you can have them write a brief report to you, depending on the tenor of the group, to create the most harmony).

We invite you to consider the family also as a team! A team that sometimes needs a better team spirit. This can be exciting for a family to do. Sometimes it is a little more dynamic, even explosive (depending on the ages and personalities of all involved), but very beneficial.

History and Development of QuickBooks Enterprise

Every good thing has to start somewhere, and even QuickBooks Enterprise, the number one financial management software for mid-sized companies, originates from humble beginnings. As an introduction, QuickBooks Enterprise is a business software designed to automate and streamline various business processes to make things easier and work faster within a company. But how did it get to be the number one of its kind?

It all begins with Intuit

The humble beginnings of the QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions as well as other popular QuickBooks products such as QuickBooks Point of Sale can be traced to the history of Intuit. Intuit is the company that created and developed the QuickBooks Enterprise financial management software. The company was founded back in 1983 by partners Tom Proulx and Scott Cook. Intuit started out in Mountain View, California. Its first product was Quicken, a financial management software targeted to individual users. After the success of the product, the company thought to extend the same benefit to business owners and managers like you.

That was when QuickBooks was created, and soon, other business solutions followed such as the QuickBooks Point of Sale. These products touched not only on accounting matters but also streamlined the entire structure of the business. Now, the QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions package has played a key role in the success and growth of several mid-sized businesses.

When QuickBooks Enterprise was introduced

Upon the introduction of QuickBooks Enterprise, it was immediately greeted with a warm welcome especially from business owners who do not have formal training in in-depth accounting. The QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions took that responsibility off their shoulders. It did not take long for the system to claim up to 80% of its target market, focusing mostly on small businesses. To this day, the same dominance can still be attributed to the software, only this time, it has moved to the mid-sized businesses.

QuickBooks Enterprise: Further developments
