Why Fashion Design

All great Design masterpieces begin with a good foundation if ideas in their design. The fashion industry is a lucrative yet competitive.

You just need a rough guideline of the ideas lurking around in your head and your do not need any tools with you because there are only ideas. When you are ready to put your idea on paper, then only you need a pen. Always use a pen so that you don’t erase of the little mistakes. All the wrong swishes and strokes of the pen can help you in putting together an idea for your piece for either a new design, details or color.

Fashion sketches are an absolute must no matter how silly you may think it is. Believe it or not, top designers like Vera Wang, Dior, Armani, Chole and such all start each of their pieces with a simple sketch on a sketch pad and work their way from there. This is because by putting down rough ideas onto paper, you would be able to see your thoughts form better and you can make physical changes to them. Many times, when you get sudden gusts of inspirations, your mind will be filled with so many thoughts that you just won’t know which to start with, the pants idea or the coat?

So if you’re an aspiring fashion designer, carry around paper and pencils and work your way through the bottom and to the top of the industry. As long as you’ve got faith, you’ll be able to do well.

does anyone know a good way to learn how to sketch/design clothes?

I would really like to do this as a professsion but don't know where to start seeing how i'm a terrible drawer but love fashion, and have good ideas.
any help?

I love to re sketch fashion spreads from magazines. Try getting a book, and practice drawing exactly what you see, later on you can draw what you see in youre mind. Good luck!
