Chances are, the most devoted fans of these three musicians have heard these tunes before, thanks to the crafty pizza-delivery boy who filched the tapes from Garcia's kitchen soon after they were recorded in 1993. That said, the warm, intimate performances here are very much worth an official CD release. The sessions came about when Tony Rice was in Northern California to record the delightful duet-collection Tone Poems with David Grisman. Garcia stopped by to hang out and jam with his old buddy Grisman and with Rice, one of his guitar idols. The disc retains all of the joy and spontaneity you'd expect from such an informal setting--Grisman even elected to leave in the between-song banter, which mostly consists of genuine overflowing mutual praise. The music itself, primarily traditional folk songs, is quite engaging thanks to Garcia's affecting, soulful, pained vocals and to the picking of all three. The contrast in flat-picking-guitar styles makes for an interesting combination: while Rice is technically superb, marvelously quick, and of remarkably clarion tone, Garcia is much more emotional and visceral, feeling his way along. There are a handful of exploratory, off-the-cuff jams that add to the impulsive nature of the whole project. Had the threesome actually intended this to be released, it probably wouldn't have the appeal it does, for this is the product of friends and music lovers, not recording artists. --Marc Greilsamer

The Dead is a low-budget but atmospheric and frequently effective zombie survival film that injects a much-needed note of gravitas into the rapidly multiplying but increasingly dreary zombie horror subgenre. Shot in Ghana and Burkina Faso by English television advertising directors/siblings Howard J. and Jonathan Ford, The Dead harks back to the ur-template for zombie pics--George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead (1968)--for both its story and its desire to impart a message along with the plentiful bloodshed. American actor Rob Freeman is top-billed as a US military engineer in South Africa attempting to escape a virus outbreak that reanimates its victims as cannibalistic zombies; when his plane crashes, he's forced to find his way to civilization on foot, with the shuffling, blank-eyed dead hot on his heels. Freeman eventually crosses paths with a soldier (African actor Prince David Oseia) who's gone AWOL to find his missing son. What follows is a slower, more contemplative zombie picture than such hot-wired genre entries as the Dawn of the Dead remake or the Resident Evil franchise; the Ford brothers make excellent use of the alternately forbidden and beautiful African landscape, which offers a striking backdrop for images of the undead slowing but inexorably pursuing their prey. The relaxed pace also allows the Fords to inject notes of political and social concern, especially in regard to Africa's war-torn past (and present) and the ironies of a white man fighting for his life against a black majority. Such elements are presented without much subtlety, which is the downfall of The Dead; in its sincere desire to be a "serious" zombie picture, it tilts the balance away from shocks and thrills towards a heavy-handed earnestness. Where the film succeeds is in its depiction of a world gone over the precipice into apocalypse by a silent, implacable force of destruction that cares little for border issues or racial divide. Such moments should be welcome to horror fans who've had their fill of the video game carbons that have come to represent the zombie picture in the 21st century. The DVD includes commentary by the Ford brothers, who discuss the trials they endured in making The Dead, from contending with local militias to Freeman's battle with malaria; a 14-minute electronic press kit and some minor deleted scenes complete the disc. --Paul Gaita

Recently I made a video game purchase for the Nintendo Wii. For most people purchasing a video game is just a simple procedure of going to the store and picking a game they saw on the television commercial. Because I do not allow myself to play many games, I make it a habit to make sure the game I select is to my style of game play. Based on the 4P's (product, price, promotion, and place) I chose the game Dead Rising by CAPCOM.
Dead Rising is an amazing concept based on the premise of an action horror game. Many games have been made for the Wii that have failed miserably but Dead Rising had me sold on the reviews of how the controls are true to the function of the movement. I had a selection of different games that I was in the market for but with all the reviews, walkthroughs, and trailers Dead Rising had to offer the choice was clear. The price was another factor in selecting Dead Rising. I did not have much money to spend on a game so I made sure that the game was not going to over the limit I set for myself. I wanted a game that was not going to be the price of a new releases ranging from $49.99 to $59.99. Dead Rising was on sale for only $29.69.
Promotions are always something that I look for when making any types of purchases. Game Stop is the best place for purchasing video games because of their promotions. I have a membership that gives me 10 percent off any used video game and the ability to return the game within seven days with no questions asked for a full refund. The game cost $39.99 brand new but I purchased the game for $32.99 plus an extra 10 percent off for my membership. The other promotion that I took advantage of was the trade in promotion. I traded in three other games that gave me $20 plus my membership gave me an extra 10 percent and on top of that I received an extra $10 for having three games traded in during that particular month. I ended up buying the game with the company owing me a few cents.
The location of where I could purchase the game is very important. I first look on the Internet and find out if the local store that is down the street has the game in stock as a used game. The game needs to be used in order for all the promotions to take affect. If the local store does not have it used and only has it new then I wait for them to get it in. I only like going to my local store for two reasons. The first reason is that the people know me at the local store and I do not like driving across town to pick up a game. The second reason is if I do not like the game and need to return the game I would need to return it to the store I originally bought it from. If I do not like purchasing games across town I certainly do not like returning games across town.
In a consumer based society where it is very easy to be informed before making a purchase, companies and their marketing teams need to find as much information about the people who are willing to do business. While making a video game purchase I have seen how important it is for a company to understand the 4P's of marketing. I was able to make a purchase based on the product, price, promotion, and place.

The maintenance key is in the underground tunnels. You'll want to go out into the park, and head toward where Wonderland Plaza is. There will be an underpass that will eventually lead to a parking lot. Attached to that parking lot is a way into the underground tunnels.
If you check the map while underground, you will, see, in pretty much the center of it all, this short dead-end passage that runs southward. If you head there, you'll find a room, and in it is the maintenance key.
