Ghost In My Head by Jill HennessyThis product is manufactured on demand using CD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.
Drawn from, or inspired by, personal experiences -- some direct, some tangential, some metaphorical -- the songs on Ghost In My Head are bone-marrow direct, honest and spectral. Some, like "Save Me" and "4 Small Hands," are keening laments for unnamable loss -- irretrievable innocence or opportunity or something deeper. Others, like "10,000 Miles" or "Oh Mother" or "Holding On," are, according to Jill, "deliberately big, written to be huge and forceful. Every song is so story-driven. If you can even get one or two words on a page, the words will lead you to the next word; the words sort of guide you. The painting sort of paints itself; the painting tells you where to go." Trusting her instincts and following her muses, Jill Hennessy has distilled some of the essential passions, experiences and insights of her life into the music and poetry of Ghost In My Head.Jill wrote the songs comprising Ghost In My Head in a particularly prolific period from 2005-2007. "The songs just started coming out," she confesses. "It was cathartic. When something hits me now, I write it all down."This title is manufactured "on demand" when ordered from Amazon.com, using recordable media as authorized by the rights holder. Powered by CreateSpace, this on-demand program makes thousands of titles available that were previously unavailable. For reissued products, packaging may differ from original artwork. Equal parts CSI, Profiler, and Law & Order, Crossing Jordan is a procedural drama with plenty of action and lots of heart. Jill Hennessy stars as Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh, a brilliant medical examiner with issues. Still haunted by her mother's unresolved death and enabled (to a certain extent) by her police detective father's drive to solve crimes, Jordan spends as much time outside of the lab with the police officers as she does dissecting her dead clients. She is amazing in the lab, reconstructing crime scenes from the evidence left by the bodies. But she is less graceful with live people. Headstrong and unbending, she mouthes off one time too many and is fired. The pilot episode sets up Jordan's return to her hometown of Boston, where her former mentor Dr. Garret Macy (Miguel Ferrer) reluctantly gives her a job. He knows she doesn't play by the rules, but he's willing to accept that because she is one of the best. Hennessy--who made her name as a by-the-book assistant district attorney on Law & Order--is wonderful as Jordan. Intense, but also unexpectedly funny, Hennessy adds warmth and depth to a character who isn't always likable. She has wonderful chemistry with co-stars Ferrer and Ken Howard, who plays her father Max. When the two re-enact murders, it's easy to understand where Jordan gets her drive. But it's her scenes with Jerry O'Connell that add a welcome dose of comedy to the series. As Detective Woody Hoyt, O'Connell is charming and earnest--if a tad too overeager at first--and a perfect straight man for Jordan's wry one liners. All 23 episodes are included on this 5-disc box set, which includes commentary on four episodes and interviews with the primary actors, as well as series creator Tim Kring (Heroes). Some deleted scenes also are included, but their main purpose seem to be reinforcing that the editors made the correct decision with the episodes that aired during the 2001-2002 season. --Jae-Ha Kim

This moving, coming-of-age story follows a young white girl who overcomes family prejudice and cultural differences when she befriends a black girl in a small working-class town.Twelve-year-old Cassie narrates the dramatic events that unfold when Jemmie, an African-American girl, and her family move in next door. Despite their parents' deeply held prejudice against each other's family-exemplified by the fence Cassie's father builds between their two houses-the girls find they share more similarities than differences. Mutual interests in reading and running draw them together, and their wariness of each other disappears. But when their parents find out about the burgeoning friendship, each girl is forbidden to see the other. A family crisis and celebration provide opportunities for the families to reach an understanding.Author Adrian Fogelin addresses the complex issues of bigotry and tolerance with sensitivity and intelligence. Readers will find her story of how two adolescent girls, through their own example, teach racial tolerance to the adults in a small Florida town powerful and compelling.

Here are some more information for Crossing Jordan:

As you enter the world of hardwood flooring you have many options. Engineered flooring is one of them. What is engineered flooring? Engineered hardwood flooring is composed of a hardwood "wear layer", from 1/16" to 3/16" thick, laminated or glued to plywood. The plywood backing is assembled in a crossing pattern, usually of 3 or 5 plys. Then there is a thin layer of hardwood, which normally comes from waste material, or reclaimed wood. This is the catch, the thin layer on top is normally only 1/8" which does not give you much wood on the surface to sand or refinish. Solid wood floors have an expected lifetime of approximately 100-120 years, as to where engineered flooring only about 5-10 years "IF" you get a good product than can be refinished more than once. With engineered flooring you take the risk of the wood delaminating from moisture, or from certain cleaning products you may use. Looks can be "deceiving" when looking through engineered products; they give you the look of solid hardwood but not the durability!
Labels, brand names and colors are often discontinued or changed in engineered flooring, leaving you in a dilemma if you ever have to replace for damage, or an addition to the room. Solid hardwood can be re-sanded and refinished several times to remove dents or deep scratches if needed, which makes it much more durable to the daily wear and tear of our family and our playful pets. With engineered wood flooring, you will have to live with some of those deep dents or scratches that come from everyday living. It is also easily found in the wood industry. ãEUREURMother Nature shows her magic with vibrate colors ranges in solid wood that we could never match with engineered flooring products.
Moisture issues are another factor you must consider on your flooring choice. Engineered products are made from laminating thin stock together, and you take a chance on it delaminating with moisture issues. This will make your flooring move apart, swell, and eventually have to be replaced. Laminated flooring is not good for bathrooms, kitchens or places with a lot of water for that reason.
Working with engineered flooring on the milling side of things is very hard to get perfection. The wood is very thin, making it harder to get the edges straight. They may be ridged, too making it hard to install and it can be uneven. Also something to think about is nearly every floor endures some separation between boards. If water gets down into the wood, it can cause it to cup, or rise off the floor or it can stain very easily from spills. If you can, train your family and friends to remove their shoes when they enter your home, then that would be ideal flooring option, but in reality that is not a logical choice. What is a good alternative to engineered flooring? Recycled hardwood flooring made of solid strips of lumber can be installed over concrete and resists the pressures from moisture. Like solid wood flooring, these products can be sanded and refinished for an even longer lifespan. There's also cork flooring which offers a softer surface, but can wear faster overtime. Cork is a renewable material so it's still a promising alternative. What's the lesson here? Always do your homework. Before you shop around, gather your "pros and cons" to what will suit your flooring needs. Do not go by looks alone, see where your floor will take you in the future. You'll be glad you took the time.

High School Spring Track Features Prep Distance Phenom Jordan Hasay
Copyright © 2009 Ed Bagley
You can call her "Destiny's Child" but the label would be inaccurate. Prep phenom Jordan Hasay understands that she will have to run her way to greatness, and would not have it any other way.
Hasay attends Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School (better known as Mission Prep in the running community) in San Luis Obispo, California.
She has been setting national records for running since she was 12, when she set the USA age-group 3000-Meter record (1.86 miles) by running 9:48.77. A year later she would break the 1500-Meter mark with a 4:28.61 clocking and the 3000 mark with a 9:35.12 effort.
At 14, she would break the 1500, 3000 and 3200-Meter records; at 15, the 1500, 1600, 3000 and 3200-Meters; and last year as a junior she ran a meet-record 9:52.13 to win her 3rd consecutive state title in the 3200-Meter, another national age-group record to go with her 3000-Meter record of 9:19.6. Her 3200-Meter state championship victory was the second fastest time ever by a high school girl.
Did I mention that she ran in the U. S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon as a 16-year-old junior? On the storied, remodeled Hayward Field track (the University of Oregon playground of Pre, the late, great Steve Prefontaine), Hasay set another national age-group and high school record by running 4:14.50 in a 1500-Meter semifinal heat.
Hasay's exploits spilled over to cross-country as well. She capped the start of her senior year by winning her 4th straight California high school Division V title, tying Sara (nee Bei) Hall's record of 4 straight titles.
She then went on the capture her 4th straight Foot Locker West Regional title, becoming the first athlete ever to do so. She won the prestigious, national Foot Locker Cross Country Championship for the second time, covering the 5000-Meter (3.1 mile) course in 17:22.
Last year Hasay was named the 2008 USA Track and Field's Youth Athlete of the Year, and also Track & Field News named Hasay as its 2008 Girls High School Athlete of the Year. Hasay isn't the only prep phenom the United States has produced. Jim Ryan and Mary Decker Slaney were world beaters in the day. Alan Webb had his moment of greatness. There are many others.
Hasay's waist-length blond hair make her easy to spot while running in a pack. The entire track community is anxiously awaiting her performance this spring, wondering just how much she can lower her times.
Jordan Hasay is pretty savvy about her future. "My aim isn't to be remembered as the best high school runner ever," said Hasay in a recent interview, "but as one of the better U. S. distance runners in the future." And, my oh my, does that future shine bright.
