Here are some more information for City Broadway:
City Broadway

I am an online tickets broker with 25 ticket websites and I also own other online businesses that are not ticket related. I want to share with you something that most people don't know when shopping for Broadway tickets or any other kind of event ticket.

If you are thinking about attending a Broadway Theatre Show, and want to get cheap or discount tickets, then you probably already did your homework and went online and priced the tickets. You also found that some of the prices are outrageously high. Here is how the secondary ticket market works. By knowing this little bit of information you will have a lot going for you when you set out to make a purchase.

First of all the whole ticket market is driven by supply and demand. Nothing else determines prices except supply and demand. With that being said let me show you a quick example of how supply and demand works.

You need to know that ticket broker websites use bidding software. It is up to the ticket seller whether they want to use the bidding software on their listing. What the bidding software does is, if a seller lowers or raises the price of their tickets then other sellers who have similar tickets in the same section and row or general area will also have their prices adjusted automatically so they can compete with the seller who changed their price and and hopefully sell their tickets. This is done automatically by the bidding software. NOT all sellers use bidding software when they sell their tickets through a brokers website.

Another important thing that you need to know is that about 2 hours before showtime the demand for tickets drops and so do the prices most of the time. I have seen front row seats to some of the best shows on Broadway sell at or below cost even on the weekends.

Here is another bit of info. Many Broadway brokers have contracts with the theater's for a certain amount of seats. They must buy a certain amount of seats to every show as part of the contract. At the last minute they have to sell these tickets for whatever that can get for them to replenish their funds for the next show dates. This is where you can save cash and score last minute bargains. If you want to take your chances and buy last minute then don't set your heart on one show. Pick five shows and I can almost guarantee that you will see at least one of the shows cheap and have good or great seats.

Sometimes you will see crazy ticket pricing such as this as curtain time nears;

  • 2 tickets in the front row Center Orchestra for Wicked on Broadway $100 each
  • 6 tickets in the front row Center Orchestra for Wicked on Broadway $400 each
You might say to yourself the price difference is $300 a ticket for the same tickets. Why is this?

Here is the reason why. One Broadway Broker owns all 8 tickets. Because they are the best seats in the house he does not want to let the tickets go to waste so he lowers the price on 2 of the tickets to $100 each hoping to recoup some money. The other 6 tickets they want to try to sell for over face value to a larger party. If they can't sell the tickets you will suddenly see them being offered in discounted pairs again until they are sold.

You are always best to buy your tickets as early as possible and not wait to the last minute, especially during the holiday season. If you will be in NYC for 3 days and have the time then consider searching for tickets for all three days you will be in the city because then you will have the best selection at the best price if you have 3 days to choose from instead of one.

One thing you should never do is buy your tickets off the street and pay with cash. Fraudulent fake tickets sales cost consumers tens of millions of dollars a year. Don't get taken by these thief's.

Sure Ticket Brokers do charge a surcharge but look at the service fee you are paying like an insurance policy. What would you rather do? Pay $400 for fake tickets on the street or $400 plus service fee from a Broker and be guaranteed you won't get robbed and the tickets are real.

I hope I have not made this confusing for you but it is great useful information if you understand it.

Enjoy the show!

Broadway the Only Place to Watch Shows

There are a number of Broadway plays and shows that people love to watch over and over again. But not all shows last forever on Broadway because the theaters need to make way for new shows and give others the opportunity to show their plays on Broadway. At the moment, there are a number of shows on Broadway that are very popular, and if you are going to New York anytime soon, it would be a good idea to place some of these shows on your itinerary. Websites are a great resource to find locations of theatres, show listings and much more before choosing a show. When staying in hotels in New York City there are people who can help you get the most popular show tickets. Part of the registration process is selecting the shows that you want to see on Broadway. The whole point here is to catch any of the current Broadway shows any which way you can. You can enjoy Broadway shows which have great singing, dancing and acting in one of the most incredible cities in the world.

A great gift would be tickets to a Broadway show of his or her choice. Discount ticket codes can help you lower the cost of the Broadway tickets that you want to buy. Broadway performances have an enormous popularity and hence its tickets are always in high demand. The reason why discount tickets exist is so those people who are on a tight budget have the ability to see great performances like everyone else. Basically you can get Broadway tickets at a discount through many channels: standing room only, lottery, discount codes on tickets, student and senior discounts are just some of the discount that are available for all different types of shows on Broadway. Broadway tickets can be obtained at ticket counters, ticket agencies, organizations, and brokers.

It is on Broadway where you can watch the best musicals, plays and theater acts that appeal to every audience. In New York the street “Broadway” is the street that symbolizes the theater where live shows are performed. Today the area, known as Broadway to tourists and theatergoers, stretches from West 41st Street, and all the way up to West 53rd Street's Broadway Theater.

In the meantime, Broadway has certainly given us our share of popular stars. When visiting New York it would be a shame and your trip would be incomplete without attending a Broadway show, your best bet is to choose the most popular ones so you are not disappointed. Getting a Broadway ticket for a popular show or play can be both challenging and expensive.
