Almost Famous Almost Famous
List Price: $13.98
Sale Price: $6.62

17 track soundtrack from the Cameron Crowe film includes SOMETHING IN THE AIR. Also Led Zeppelin, the Who, Yes, the Seeds etc. SSTILL SEALED but has a small drill hole into back of jewelbox.

Writer-director Cameron Crowe (Jerry Maguire, Say Anything, Singles) was a teenager when Rolling Stone magazine sent him out to write cover stories in the 1970s. Nearly 30 years later, Crowe tells the tale in satisfying fashion and extensive detail with Almost Famous, accompanied by a soundtrack that accurately reflects the time of his trial by fire. Led Zeppelin have never before licensed a performance to a soundtrack, so "That's the Way" earns the distinction. A live version of Lou Reed's "Waiting for the Man" performed by David Bowie in 1972 typifies the emerging underground glam movement. Classic rock from Simon & Garfunkel, Rod Stewart, Elton John, and Yes fill things out. Cat Stevens's "The Wind" is rescued from the Timberland commercial. Nancy Wilson of Heart contributes the original score (one track, "Lucky Trumble," featured here) and a track by the fictitious hard-rock band Stillwater, whose "Fever Dog" sounds like a lost track from the hard-rock-guitar wars of the 1970s. Add in tracks by garage-rock faves the Seeds, soul strutter Clarence Carter, and Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers Band and you've got an expansive collection of tunes to sift through. More than 50 songs are featured in the film. Next question: when's volume 2? --Rob O'Connor

Richard Rodgers always considered Carousel his favorite score, even though it didn't generate the number of popular hits of some of the other shows he produced with lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II. Their adaptation of the Ferenc Molnar play Liliom is marked by three especially sublime moments. "The Carousel Waltz," Rodgers's alternative to the traditional Broadway overture, serves as an orchestral backdrop to the opening scene and is one of the best miniatures ever written for the theater. "If I Loved You," which establishes the romance of carnival barker Billy Bigelow (Gordon MacRae, a late replacement for Frank Sinatra) and nice girl Julie Jordan (Shirley Jones), is a musical minidrama in which the pair's discussion of how they are not in love reveals just how much they are in love. "Soliloquy" is Billy's powerful solo that foreshadows the action to come in Act II. Add the inspirational anthem "You'll Never Walk Alone," and you have Rodgers and Hammerstein's most extraordinary, near-operatic score. On the soundtrack for the 1956 film, MacRae and Jones are in exceptional voice (following their success in 1955's Oklahoma) and the orchestra sounds glorious, but unfortunately some of the numbers were shortened, most notably "If I Loved You." Extensive production notes, an interview with Jones, and a synopsis are included. --David Horiuchi

The Secret Garden (1991 Original Broadway Cast) The Secret Garden (1991 Original Broadway Cast)
List Price: $7.99
Sale Price: $4.36

All products are BRAND NEW and factory sealed. Fast shipping and 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed.

Inspired by Frances Hodgson Burnett's novel of the same name, The Secret Garden was set apart from the beginning by the composition of its creative team. Not many Broadway shows can boast a female composer (Lucy Simon), director (Susan H. Schulman), librettist/lyricist (Marsha Norman), and producer/set designer (Heidi Landesman)--not to mention an 11-year old (Daisy Eagan) in the lead. This story of a little girl who helps her grieving uncle and sickly cousin regain a taste for life is a delicate, lovely achievement. Steeped in moody Victoriana, it should enchant those who enjoy a more understated style of musical theater. The great cast includes Mandy Patinkin, Rebecca Luker as his dead wife Lily's ghost, and the perenially underrated Alison Fraser. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

One of the best-loved films of all time, producer David O. Selznick's grand-scale adaptation of Margaret Mitchell's bestseller won 10 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actress. Rural Georgia during the Civil War and the Reconstruction provides the backdrop for the epic love triangle between coquettish Southern belle Scarlett O'Hara (Vivien Leigh), gambler-rogue Rhett Butler (Clark Gable), and gentleman farmer Ashley Wilkes (Leslie Howard). Olivia de Havilland and Hattie McDaniel co-star. 3 3/4 hrs. Standard; Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital mono, French Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English (SDH), French, Spanish; audio commentary. Two-disc set.

David O. Selznick wanted Gone with the Wind to be somehow more than a movie, a film that would broaden the very idea of what a film could be and do and look like. In many respects he got what he worked so hard to achieve in this 1939 epic (and all-time box-office champ in terms of tickets sold), and in some respects he fell far short of the goal. While the first half of this Civil War drama is taut and suspenseful and nostalgic, the second is ramshackle and arbitrary. But there's no question that the film is an enormous achievement in terms of its every resource--art direction, color, sound, cinematography--being pushed to new limits for the greater glory of telling an American story as fully as possible. Vivien Leigh is still magnificently narcissistic, Olivia de Havilland angelic and lovely, Leslie Howard reckless and aristocratic. As for Clark Gable: we're talking one of the most vital, masculine performances ever committed to film. --Tom Keogh

Avatar (Two-Disc Original Theatrical Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo) Avatar (Two-Disc Original Theatrical Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo)
List Price: $39.99
Sale Price: $18.21

After 12 years of thinking about it (and waiting for movie technology to catch up with his visions), James Cameron followed up his unsinkable Titanic with Avatar, a sci-fi epic meant to trump all previous sci-fi epics. Set in the future on a distant planet, Avatar spins a simple little parable about greedy colonizers (that would be mankind) messing up the lush tribal world of Pandora. A paraplegic Marine named Jake (Sam Worthington) acts through a 9-foot-tall avatar that allows him to roam the planet and pass as one of the Na'vi, the blue-skinned, large-eyed native people who would very much like to live their peaceful lives without the interference of the visitors. Although he's supposed to be gathering intel for the badass general (Stephen Lang) who'd like to lay waste to the planet and its inhabitants, Jake naturally begins to take a liking to the Na'vi, especially the feisty Neytiri (Zoë Saldana, whose entire performance, recorded by Cameron's complicated motion-capture system, exists as a digitally rendered Na'vi). The movie uses state-of-the-art 3D technology to plunge the viewer deep into Cameron's crazy toy box of planetary ecosystems and high-tech machinery. Maybe it's the fact that Cameron seems torn between his two loves--awesome destructive gizmos and flower-power message mongering--that makes Avatar's pursuit of its point ultimately uncertain. That, and the fact that Cameron's dialogue continues to clunk badly. If you're won over by the movie's trippy new world, the characters will be forgivable as broad, useful archetypes rather than standard-issue stereotypes, and you might be able to overlook the unsurprising central plot. (The overextended "take that, Michael Bay" final battle sequences could tax even Cameron enthusiasts, however.) It doesn't measure up to the hype (what could?) yet Avatar frequently hits a giddy delirium all its own. The film itself is our Pandora, a sensation-saturated universe only the movies could create. --Robert Horton

Breaking box-office records and dazzling audiences with its mix of live action and CGI animation, James Cameron's Oscar-winning sci-fi epic tells the story of a paraplegic Marine (Sam Worthington) who agrees to travel to the distant planet Pandora and implant his consciousness into a physical being resembling a member of the native Na'vi population. His loyalties are tested after he falls in love with an alien female (Zoe Saldana) and is pressured to betray her people. Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez co-star. Not in 3-D. 162 min. Widescreen; Soundtracks: English DTS HD 5.1 Master Audio, Dolby Digital Surround, DVS, Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1, Portuguese Dolby Digital 5.1, French Dolby Digital 5.1; Subtitles: English (SDH), Spanish, Portuguese. Also includes a DVD version of the film. Two-disc set.

Within each of us are stories that have the power to inspire, challenge, motivate and guide generations of our families. The truth is, there is no such thing as an ordinary life. And the stories of our lives are the greatest legacy we can leave to our families and loved ones. Martin Forrestal is dying. From his hospital bed, he conceives a plan to share the stories from his life that will be his greatest legacy to his family. He wants them to know who he was, understand what he believed in, appreciate what he fought for, and see exactly how values shaped and guided his life. Martin takes up a pad of paper, and in large letters writes: What Matters? During a long night of reflection, eighty-two year old Martin identifies the values that matter most to him. His list begins with the value of Love. By the time the sun is rising outside his hospital window, he has identified fourteen values, from Responsibility to Family Unity. As family and friends come to say their good-byes, Martin records his stories. The action of the novel flows back and forth across more than a century, from an icy mountain cave where he was trapped by an avalanche with his Scout Troop, to a tiny coral island in the Pacific that saw some of WW II s bloodiest combat. From a pioneer cabin in old Montana on Christmas morning, to the sweeping plains of the Argentine pampas, Martin recounts how each of the values on his list were forged into his character. He is not financially wealthy. But he knows that by sharing What Matters with generations of his family, he is passing a far more important and enduring legacy than material wealth. What Matters brims with original stories, heartfelt emotions, and the eloquence of simple truths. Many of the chapters can be enjoyed as stand-alone stories.

Clarke and Johnson Has to Miss Twenty20 Match on Sunday

Australian Batsman Michael is suffering from back injury and due to this reason he is out of the squad of twenty20 match. While on the other hand Australian bowler Mitchell Johnson has an ankle injury and due to this he is unable to bowl in the ODI. And just after twenty20, Australia has to departure for South Africa on Monday.

So for the future tour it is better to give rest to these main in form players.  These both are in-form players and the team management and Captain as well don’t want to lose them for the South Africa’s tour. This is also a big reason behind the rest of these two players. Now let’s see what the effect of their absence on their teams is, either their morel is down or still or can they be able to show good cricket results or not.

According to the team management, the team will be lead by Brad Haddin and the vice captain will be Cameron White. So this is also a kind of hint that Brad Haddin and Cameron White would be the future captains for Australia. But who knows that what will be going to happen as we can only wait for the happening. The player who will replace Michael Clarke will most probably be Rob Quiney. Selectors have an eye on him since his blasting final match performance in the domestic season where he made great cricket scores while playing for the Victoria.

On the case of Mitchell Johnson, Australian Physiotherapist said that Mitchell was feeling discomfort in his ankle from last some days and due to which we have decided to give rest to him. Along with that we also have to inject some injections as well to him so that he could play for the team in third and fourth ODI.

Australian team’s attitude also shows that how much desperate are they for a win but all their efforts are going to be waste day by day. So now team management wants to give rest to him so that he will be fit properly for the upcoming South Africa’s series. Both these players are very important for the Australian team that is why they are paying special attention to both of them.

And they don’t want to lose any one of them at any cost because if they lose any other player then their remaining honor will definitely snatched away from them and their fame will become the part of history.

You must want to know what will happen as the match is tough. Don’t worry you can keep yourself connected with these players and keep your eye on their every step. Stay tuned with ScoresPro for more news and cricket live scores.
