Burnout: Legends takes the most explosive moments of the popular Burnout series of racing games, mashes themtogether and adds some new surprises -- giving you the best racing experience to come out for the PSP. Use your car as a weapon and battle your way to the front of the pack - by taking out rivals and instigating spectacular crashes. Speed, depth and destruction are waiting for you, in the game of on-the-go automotive anarchy. In Burnout Paradise players are treated to a rarity in the video games universe: a complete reinvention of an established franchise that equals, if not betters any of the previous games in the series. This expansive driver's playground stretches across 250 miles and encompasses all sorts of road driving conditions, from fun-in-the-sun seaside cruising boulevards, to mountain roads and downtown gridlock. But regardless of what stretch of asphalt you find yourself on, the beauty of this place is that nothing is blocked off and your wits are at least as important as the horsepower under your hood when it comes to racing here. These can be used as short cuts in races, that is, if you know where they are. As you explore, commit these potential short cuts to memory because they will definitely come in handy in a tight race. And since we are talking Burnout here, players should not expect uneventful, genteel contests of speed and precision driving. With more than 300 FreeBurn Challenges packed into the game, players always have the choice of going it alone against the field as a whole or joining forces with up to seven of your buddies in user-created race routes. Renamed 'Showtime Mode,' players can now crash, bounce and scatter their ride in any location and replay the wreckage over and over in slow motion. One of the most addictive and down right fun features of the game, players activate the mode by simply pulling both triggers on their controller and if they are good enough can also immortalize their Showtime moments on the leaderboards for all to see.Driving fans this is Next-Gen at its best and definitely the Burnout title you have been waiting for. From online to off, and the other way around. Why both worlds still matter. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Burnout Revenge is the fourth video game in the Burnout series of racing games, released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox on September 13, 2005 and Xbox 360 on March 7, 2006, alongside the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS title Burnout Legends. This book was created using print-on-demand technology. Here are some more information for Burnout Revenge: The racing game has come along way since the early 90s and the days of F-zero and Top Gear. Today, each console has amazing options for simulation and arcade racers. Here are a few of the best. Gran Turismo 3-4: Gran Turismo reinvented the modern racing genre as we know it. Polyphony crafted in this games such an advanced realistic physics engine that driving enthusiasts the world over fell in love. And when Gran Turismo 3 released for the Playstation 2, no one questioned again what the best driving simulator was. Of course, things like online play, in game damage, and more settings for adjustment were craved by fans and when Gran Turismo 4 arrived without the additions, it was considered nothing more than an expansion pack to Gran Turismo 3, which of course doesn't lessen the game itself, as it's a bigger badder version of the best. But even now we wait for the features that Sony's promised for years. Is it hard? Absolutely, and if you actually turn off all you steering assists, put it in manual and try to run the GT endurance race on Cote d'Azur, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Mario Kart - Yeah, Nintendo never really bought into the whole realism and advancement concept that led to the boom of the whole industry. They stuck with their fun above all else format, and it looks like it's finally starting to pay off. Mario Kart always was one of the greatest examples though. The original kart racer, and at the time one of the best racing games around period. Even though Double Dash dropped the ball a little bit, Mario Kart still remains the big name for Nintendo racing and just plain fun racing. GTR 2- A very recent release for the PC, GTR is like Gran Turismo with every thing you ever wanted and Sony didn't give you. It's harder, it's bigger, it's online, and there are so many options, tweaks, and damage controls you could spend a whole day just digging through them. If you have the set up to run this monstrous racing sim, you'll be behind the wheel of one of the best around. Unfortunately not too many of us can pull that off. So for now, we'll just have to wait for Gran Turismo HD or Forza 2 Forza Motorsport - And then there's Microsoft's entry for the Xbox. Forza did a lot of things right, and a few things wrong. It's a racing sim through and through, though it tries to not completely abandon its arcade aspirations. It's easier than the rest, but it's not weaker. Online play and a huge stable of tracks and cars, along with fairly solid, if not entirely accurate (tire wear I'm looking at you) physics make it a solid, if slightly subpar effort. Though, for a game trying to emulate the best, you can't go wrong here, and Forza 2, unlike Gran Turismo 5, looks like it might actually be coming out sometime before the decade's over. Burnout 3: Takedown - And that brings us to Burnout 3. In my opinion, overlooking the desire for realism or the desire for fun, Burnout 3 is the greatest racing game ever made. And here's why. It's so damn fun. Physics be damned, you're playing for the sole fun of driving, and that means speed, speed and destruction. You crash, bash and tear your way through a couple hundred races and crash events (in which you see how much damage you can make with one run through a crowded intersection) and the speed of the races is absolutely insane. Hundreds of hours have gone into this game and its sequel, Burnout Revenge, and more still probably into the newest Burnout. And the best part, it's available for more than one console. A must own, must play, must see. I'm a self avowed unemployed writer, working on semi-constant basis to try and overcome the need to go and work a real job. In January of 2010 it was announced that LCD Soundsystem would peform on the main stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and shortley after begin a tour of Europe.Murphy began recording in the summer of 2009 in Los Angeles. Possible song titles mentioned include "Why Do You Hate Music?" and "Love in LA". For the 2009 Record Store Day the band released a cover of Suicide member Alan Vega's song "Bye Bye Bayou".On 18 November 2008 Al Doyle seemed to suggest in an interview with 6 Music that the band would soon be discontinued. However the following day both Doyle and James Murphy quashed this rumour, with Murphy indicating a new LCD Soundsystem album was on the way.Third album (2009–Till now)
After finishing touring for Sound of Silver the band recorded and released a song entitled "Big Ideas" on the soundtrack of the film 21. This song was ranked number 63 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2008.Time magazine named "All My Friends" one of The 10 Best Songs of 2007, ranking it at #4. Writer Josh Tyrangiel praised the “magic” in the song, saying that the song’s “straightforward repetition of the same guitar, keyboard and bass lines, combined with lyrics about life without regret, and life with all kinds of regrets pays off with a punch about what we lose as we get older." The album was also nominated for the 2007 Shortlist Prize, where it lost out to The Reminder by Feist. Also in December 2007 the band received a nomination for the Grammy for Best Electronic/Dance Album. The album was also named the best album of 2007 by publications such as The Guardian, Uncut and Drowned in Sound.LCD Soundsystem's subsequent single "All My Friends" included a cover of the song by both Franz Ferdinand and former Velvet Underground member John Cale. The digital download "All My Friends" EP also includes a cover of the early Joy Division song "No Love Lost". In September 2007 the "A Bunch of Stuff" EP was released and the band went on tour with Arcade Fire. Late in 2007 the band released "Someone Great" as the third single off of Sound of Silver and re-released 45:33 on CD and vinyl through DFA Records. In December 2007 there was a release of a 12-inch record containing b-sides from European singles for the North American market entitled "Confuse the Marketplace".LCD Soundsystem's second album, Sound of Silver, was released on March 12, 2007, to near universal critical acclaim. Praise included Mixmag awarding it the title Album of the Month, a 9.2 score from Pitchfork Media and a 5-star review from The Guardian. The album release was preceded by the single "North American Scum".In October, 2006 James Murphy released a track entitled "45:33" as part of a promotion with Nike for download from iTunes. The track is, strangely, 45 minutes and 58 seconds long, and was claimed to "reward and push at good intervals of a run". However it was later revealed that this was not the case, but that Murphy merely wanted the opportunity to create a long piece of music, akin to E2-E4 by Manuel Göttsching.45:33 and Sound of Silver (2006–2008)
On December 8, 2005 the group received nominations for two Grammy awards in the Electronica category for their self-titled album and in the Dance category for "Daft Punk Is Playing at My House". This album was also chosen as one of Amazon.com's Top 100 Editor's Picks of 2005.In June 2005, the band covered a Siouxsie & the Banshees song, "Slowdive" for the B-side of "Disco Infiltrator".LCD Soundsystems's song "Get Innocuous" is featured on Grand Theft Auto IV and can be heard on the games in game radio station Radio BrokerLCD Soundsystem released a double disc set simply titled LCD Soundsystem in February 2005 to critical acclaim. The first disc contains the album and the second contains re-releases of previous singles. The opening track "Daft Punk Is Playing at My House" quickly gained popularity and entered the UK Top 40 in March 2005 and was later featured on several video game soundtracks like SSX on Tour, Forza Motorsport 2, Burnout Revenge, and FIFA 06. The band toured with M.I.A..LCD Soundsystem gained attention with its first single, "Losing My Edge". Described as "an eight-minute, laugh-out-loud funny dissection of cool over a dirty electronic beat" the single became an underground dance favourite. This was followed by other well received singles "Give It Up" and "Yeah".
Early singles and self-titled album (2002–2005)
