No Description AvailableNo Track Information AvailableMedia Type: CDArtist: DISNEYTitle: VOL. 3-DISNEY'S GREATESTStreet Release Date: 08/20/2002
Cynical types will accuse Disney of milking the "greatest" concept until it's drier than Tinkerbell's fairy dust ("Supercalafragilisticexpealidocious," "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Da," and "Heigh Ho" were hits off of Vol. 1; "Bare Necessities," "It's a Small World," and "Some Day My Prince Will Come" stole the show on Vol. 2), but a glimpse of this installment's track listing is all it'll take to squash their suspicions. Once again running reverse-chronologically, Vol. 3 opens with Jonatha Brooke's gorgeously achy ballad "I'll Try," from 2002's arguably not-so-great Return to Neverland, and gradually reaches back through the years to re-raise the curtain on Toy Story 2 ("When She Loved Me," performed by Sarah McLachlan), The Lion King ("Can You Feel the Love Tonight"), Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews's classic "A Spoonful of Sugar"), Pinocchio ("Give a Little Whistle"), and a bundle of treasured others, bottoming out at 1933's "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" from The Three Little Pigs. Vol. 3 is not without its weak moments--would a G-rated movie-goers' poll produce Beauty and the Beast's "Gaston" or The Hunchback of Notre Dame's "Topsy Turvy" on a hits list? Seems unlikely. Still, the bulk of these tracks are, as the included Little Mermaid song goes, "Part of Your World," and the spread of decades they represent proves their staying power. Don't expect Disney to latch the lid on its inexhaustible archives until a dozen or so of these records, each as strong as the next, beckon you back for more. --Tammy La Gorce

The Best Of Alice Cooper: Mascara & Monsters
List Price: $13.98
Sale Price: $7.99

An essential figure in any history of the American grotesque, son-of-a-preacher-man Vincent Furnier served as a missing link between Screamin' Jay Hawkins and Marilyn Manson. As Alice Cooper, he helped make the pop world safe for morbidity and makeup, scoring a bunch of hits and misses along the way. Mascara & Monsters serves up a fairly rote chronology of Cooper's '70s singles, with the occasional B-side and 1989's "Poison" (cowritten by mainstream hitmeister Desmond Child!) thrown in for good measure. As such, the album doesn't live up to its best-of billing. "Dead Babies," arguably the best track on Killer, loses out to "Under My Wheels," while the garage-rock glories of the band's first two albums are also conspicuously absent. On the plus side, "School's Out," "Elected," and "No More Mr. Nice Guy" still sound great. If you're looking for easy access to those and numerous lesser singles, this collection will do the trick. --Bill Forman

The pop Christmas album is a lost art everywhere but in the country-western arena. You don't see today's rock acts reeling off sets of religious standards the way you used to--which is probably for the best. But even within the whole country milieu, since album release schedules aren't as fast-paced and casual as they once were, a good seasonal CD is something to latch onto. What we have here is a Christmas album of solid construction, packed with traditional songs and old-Nashville chestnuts. No surprises and no smash hits, but that's not what it's about. --Gavin McNett

Beastly

Beastly definitely lives up to its name--it's an absolutely beastly film--and not in a good way. It's a modern-day retelling of Beauty and the Beast based on Alex Flinn's novel Beastly, and one expects some pretty extreme characters, but in this movie, the characters are shallow and one-dimensional to the extreme, and their supposed personal and emotional growth is totally unbelievable. As for the plot--self-absorbed pretty-boy gets cursed, nice girl gets imprisoned with now-ugly boy, boy changes, and the two fall in love--it just never feels real or believable in this film. With a cast that includes Vanessa Hudgens and Neil Patrick Harris, one expects a halfway decent movie, but no amount of talent can overcome bad writing. In fact, one has to question whether Hudgens and Harris even tried, as their performances just aren't that good. The performances of Alex Pettyfer and Peter Krause are even worse, and Lisa Gay Hamilton only saves herself by her comic delivery of lines that primarily consist of two to three heavily accented monosyllables strung together at a time. The audience at our screening squirmed, laughed in inappropriate places, and even groaned out loud as the actors casually tossed off nuggets of wisdom in proper language that seemed totally out of place with the rest of the slang-riddled dialogue. Perhaps truisms like "Be the man I know you to be," lines quoted from Frank O'Hara's poem "Having a Coke," and statements like "Best embrace the suck" are supposed to come off as funny contrasts, but instead it all just seems hopelessly incongruous and falls horribly flat. The one good thing in this movie is the special-effects makeup, though Kyle's face probably looks nothing like the face that most people picture when they read Flinn's book. Don't bother seeing Beastly unless you enjoy sneering at bad, shallow movies. (Ages 13 and older) --Tami Horiuchi
Beauty and the Beast gets a "Twilight" makeover in this romantic fantasy based on the novel by Alex Flinn. When a cocky teen's bad attitude goes too far, his witch classmate gives him a lesson in humility by transforming him into a scarred, tattooed, and pierced freak. With the help of a blind tutor, he attempts to win the heart of a kindly peer so that he can return to normal--learning about the true meaning of beauty along the way. Alex Pettyfer, Vanessa Hudgens, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Neil Patrick Harris star. 86 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital 5.1; Subtitles: English (SDH); alternate ending; deleted scenes; featurettes; music video.

Here are some more information for Beast Never:

Depression is an ugly beast that lives in a black tunnel and never wants to let you see the light of day. One of the biggest obstacles to beating depression is the huge amount of inaccurate information in both popular culture and, amazingly, the medical profession. First step in beating depression is admitting it. Recognising the illness is a key step in beating depression, because this least treated of illnesses is conversely one of the most treatable. But people who are depressed often have a hard time recognizing their own symptoms.
The cost to society is real, and we need to find the best way at beating depression for good. More than 17 million Americans suffer from depression. . Learn all you can about depression, so you can make educated decisions about your own health, learn how others cope, and find what medical treatment is available. Without the proper treatment, no coping strategies will do any good. But along with medication and the proper treatment, you have some practical steps you can take for your own well being. Myths about depression often separate people from the effective treatments now available.
A new study from Harvard's famous McLean Hospital indicates that certain foods could have an antidepressant effect similar to that of prescription drugs such as Prozac and Celexa--at least if you're a rat! Dr Tom Gilhooly, a GP in Glasgow, Scotland, reported there was a marked improvement among his patients when depression treatment consisted of fish oil supplements. Well, none of this has been proved yet on humans but at worst you will have a healthier diet if you take foods high in both Omega-3s (found in fish oil mentioned above) and uridine . At best, you'll be less depressed! Omega-3s are great for the heart as well.
Can Antidepressants Help In Beating Depression ?
If you're taking or considering taking antidepressants, there are important things you need to know. By understanding how antidepressants work, we can see how they treat a symptom of depression, not the root of the depression, and are therefore ineffective in one to two thirds of sufferers.
Tips To Beat Depression
Depression is much too complicated for you to solve on your own. Depression is one of the most widespread illnesses in the Western world, yet it is also one of the most misunderstood and under treated health problems. Depression is commonly diagnosed in general practice and up to half of us may suffer depression at some time in our lives. Depression is a mood disorder that influences every aspect of daily life. Depression is not just a dark mood; it is an illness. Clinical depression is a serious medical condition that is very complicated to treat. The opposite of depression is a hopeful attitude. Hope for the best and cope with the rest! I've read that many psychiatrists agree that depression is guilt or anger turned inward. It's important to remember that depression is not fatal and it doesn't last forever. Clinical depression is a serious health problem that affects the total person. In the Bible versus the Quran: What Authority was given to the Beast?
The Lion is mentioned in the Bible 119 times, 110 times in the Old Testament and nine times in the New Testament. The Lion itself is not mentioned in the Noble Quran; however, wild beasts (wild animals) is mentioned once.
In the Bible, Revelation 13:1-6 talk about a strange beast with amazing characters. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. The whole world worshiped the beast and said: "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?" The Dragon and that beast are not found in the Noble Quran.
==============================
The Dragon in the Bible:
The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.
This beast which came out of the sea had amazing characters; he had Seven Heads, Ten Horns and Ten Crowns. One of the seven heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound if it had been slain. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast when the beast's fatal wound had been healed. The whole world worshiped both the beast and the Dragon.
---------------
Revelation 13:1-6 in four different versions of the Bible:
New International Version
1And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea.
The Beast out of the Sea
And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.
2The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.
3One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast.
4Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"
5The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months.
6He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.
New American Standard Bible
The Beast from the Sea
1And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore. Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names.
2And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority.
3I saw one of his heads as if it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast;
4they worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?"
5There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for forty-two months was given to him.
6And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven.
English Standard Version
The First Beast
1And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads.
2And the beast that I saw was like a leopard; its feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority.
3One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast.
4And they worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?"
5And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months.
6It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven.
King James Version
1And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

The Dragon in modern sciences:
The Dragon is the only mythical creature in the Chinese zodiac. In China, dragons are associated with strength, health, harmony, and good luck; they are placed above doors or on the tops of roofs to banish demons and evil spirits.
The Dragon is omnipotent. They are flamboyant, attractive and full of vitality and strength. In China, the Dragon is the sign of the Emperor of China or the male element Yang. The Dragon is the symbol of power and wealth.
In short, the Dragon is a mythical creature that exists only in myth. The presence of the Dragon is unproved from the scientific point of view. The same is the case in respect to this Biblical strange Beast.

The Dragon in the Noble Quran:
The Dragon is not mentioned in the Noble Quran.

Where does it say that "666" is the mark of the beast?
it can't find where it says that the number 666 is the mark of the beast. it does talk about the mark of the beast, but never mentions 666. where did this come from?
Revelation 13:18
This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.
Cats thump Tennessee to earn spot in SEC title game
NASHVILLE -- After three subpar games, DeMarcus Cousins re-emerged as a beast. Meanwhile, Tennessee’s best big man, Wayne Chism, spent much of the game standing at the end of his bench smoldering. That told the story as Kentucky beat Tennessee 74-45 on Saturday in one of the uglier near-basketbrawl games in the programs’ long-standing rivalry.
