Together, they become a criminal duo (although with one member more reluctant than the other) in this entertaining, realistic tale of what the West was really like. Bridges has a gangly, easy-going demeanor, as well as a sense of playfulness that even extends to moments of extreme jeopardy. He makes an interesting team with the stiff, proper Brown, creating comedy seemingly out of thin air. Food, Inc. Food, Inc.
List Price: $19.98
Sale Price: $6.55

For most Americans, the ideal meal is fast, cheap, and tasty. Food, Inc. examines the costs of putting value and convenience over nutrition and environmental impact. Director Robert Kenner explores the subject from all angles, talking to authors, advocates, farmers, and CEOs, like co-producer Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), Michael Pollan (The Omnivore's Dilemma), Gary Hirschberg (Stonyfield Farms), and Barbara Kowalcyk, who's been lobbying for more rigorous standards since E. coli claimed the life of her two-year-old son. The filmmaker takes his camera into slaughterhouses and factory farms where chickens grow too fast to walk properly, cows eat feed pumped with toxic chemicals, and illegal immigrants risk life and limb to bring these products to market at an affordable cost. If eco-docs tends to preach to the converted, Kenner presents his findings in such an engaging fashion that Food, Inc. may well reach the very viewers who could benefit from it the most: harried workers who don't have the time or income to read every book and eat non-genetically modified produce every day. Though he covers some of the same ground as Super-Size Me and King Corn, Food Inc. presents a broader picture of the problem, and if Kenner takes an understandably tough stance on particular politicians and corporations, he's just as quick to praise those who are trying to be responsible--even Wal-Mart, which now carries organic products. That development may have more to do with economics than empathy, but the consumer still benefits, and every little bit counts. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Your steak and chicken may not taste quite the same after you digest all of the information found in this documentary about food production in the United States. Exposing not only the disturbing conditions under which livestock exist prior to their slaughter, the film examines the complex issues surrounding our health and the profits of corporations invested in supplying people with inexpensive (if not exactly nutritious) food. 91 min. Widescreen; Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital stereo; Subtitles: Spanish; deleted scenes; more.

Produced by Oprah Winfrey, this lush, yet earthy telefilm was adapted from the 1937 novel by Zora Neale Hurston. Set in rural Florida, the story begins several years after emancipation. Janie (a soulful Halle Berry) is a dreamy-eyed teenager, who never knew her parents. She was raised by the bitter Nanny (Ruby Dee), an ex-slave, who marries her off to an older man the minute she gets the chance. Mr. Killicks works Janie like a dog, but leaves her alone otherwise (he's abusive in the book). Then Janie meets the courtly Joe (Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Lackawanna Blues), who whisks her away from the muck to the black township of Eatonville. The two proceed to transform the town from a patch of dirt into a real community. Along the way, Joe becomes mayor and Janie a mere helpmate. Except for her friend Phoeby (Nicki Micheaux), the townspeople confuse her sadness for conceit and she ends up lonelier than ever. Twenty years later, Joe dies and Janie takes up with the younger Tea Cake (Michael Ealy, Barbershop). Much like the other literary adaptations with which she's been associated (The Color Purple, Beloved, etc.), this Oprah production boasts an impressive line-up of African-American talent, including Terrence Howard (Crash) as the covetous Amos. A mostly successful mix between suds and substance, Their Eyes Were Watching God, which premiered on ABC, was directed by Darnell Martin, co-written by Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan Lori-Parks, and graced with a classy score by frequent Spike Lee collaborator Terence Blanchard. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Executive producer Oprah Winfrey presents this powerful adaptation of Zora Neale Hurston's celebrated novel. In 1920s America, free-spirited Janie embarks on a search for love and spiritual fulfillment that spans three marriages, experiencing the joys--and crushing defeats--of dealing with life as an African-American woman in an unenlightened society. Halle Berry, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Michael Ealy, Nicki Micheaux, Ruby Dee star. 113 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital stereo; Subtitles: English.

ARE SOME NETWORK MARKETING/DIRECT SALES COMPANIES A SCAM? Why are some of these companies labeled as scams?

This is my honest look at network marketing and direct sales companies to expose the stigma attributed to the industry by an uninformed, disgruntles, misinformed and unmotivated individuals who enter the industry without doing their due diligence of the company that they have decided to join. Most individuals that fail to earn money or do well in the industry fail because of many reasons.  My observation and research on why network marketers fail is because of the lack a supportive sponsor/upline, lack of training, lack of a strong WHY, lack of personal education, lack of good work ethic, lack of perseverance and lack of a positive attitude in general. In all industries people fail and quit and in most cases, it is not the industry that fail or quit the individual but it is the individual that quits on himself or herself. But it is human nature for us to blame someone else for our failures. The industry receives its black eye from these unhappy individuals who fails to research the appropriate company for their personality and fails to train and educate themselves of the products and services provided by the company. They also fail to train and educate themselves about the industry on how to become a productive network marketer. Most of these companies provide an excellent training and support to help the individual succeed in the industry. Most of the individuals that quit the industry really quit on themselves because they did not take the advantage of the training and the education in order to succeed in the industry. These are the people who badmouth the industry because of their failure. They fail themselves and they continue to live a miserable life of always complaining and whining about how bad life is and that they always get the short end of the stick.

Most of the companies in the network marketing/direct sales are excellent opportunities for you to start your own home based business with all of the upside potential and no downside risks. Any one of these network marketing/direct sales companies if they are worth their salt, they will have a structure and a proven business plan that will train and support the representatives in the field to assure their success. I suspect that there are bad companies out there that are poorly managed and that are less than desirable to be involved with but I have not come across of any to date. You as an individual have to do your due diligence before you join one of these companies and when you do join one of these companies, make sure you take the advantage of the training program that they have in place and also educate yourself on how to become a productive network marketer.

A quick rule of thumb in selecting the appropriate company is to look at the experience, integrity of the leadership, look at companies that have been at least 2 years in existence, look to see if they are financially solid, look at what percentage of revenue is paid out to the representatives out in the field, look at their rating with Dunn and Bradstreet or if they are listed with the Direct Sales Association, look closely at their products and services, look for potential residual income and most important, can you stand a 100% behind the company and its products and services.

Besides the guidelines that I stated above, is the companys' operations, finances and compensation plan transparent? Can you see where the money is coming from and where the money is going?

I have done my due diligence and I have found a company that I can stand a 100% behind it and its products and services. The name to the company is Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing and you and I use the products and services that FHTM represents  every day.  You are already in my business but you are not in my pay plan. Would you like to be?

Is there a worthwhile single player experience in Battlefield: Bad Company?

I played COD4: MW online for a long while but was disappointed with the single player game. Also, does Battlefield: Bad Company have a multiplayer/online component? Is it any good?

Well the single player campaign in Bad company does not have that many Jaw-Dropping moments to it, but it is quite a bit longer and has, in my opinion, much better characters. The only character I could really like was captain price but in BC all the characters were good. Plus in Cod4 campaign there is usually only one way to complete an objective, while in BC there were usually at least 3 completely different things you could do, whether it be running in there guns ablazing, sneaking in there and planting C4, or sniping from a long distance away.

Now for the online component.
YES Battlefield Bad company has an online component, and YES its very, very good. In my Honest Opinion its better than CoD4's Multiplayer. In BC Multiplayer there are 2 game modes. Gold Rush, Which is an attackers defenders game mode. And Conquest, which is a team death match with flags that you must capture, and spawn at.

Now there are only about 10 maps, But the maps are huge. Like you may need a vehicle(which there are plenty of) to get from one place to another. And although there are only 2 game modes, much like the campaign there are as many as 20 ways to help your team get to each objective.

In BC Multiplayer the matches are split up into teams of 12 vs 12. In BC you cannot make classes, the classes are already made, but by leveling up you can unlock new weapons and gadgets for each class. And by gadgets I mean like, Anti-vehicle mines or mortar strikes and such. And personally I like the class system because that way you cant be like a super soldier that has all the best weapons from each class.

All in all I would say that Personally like Battlefield Bad company much more than I like Cod4, because In CoD4 it feels Like a giant game of hide and seek where whoever finds the other first gets the kill, while in Bad Company, you must use cover, tactics, and teamwork to win out against your enemies.

So I would Suggest You try getting Battlefield Bad Company for its long and likable single player campaign, and its awesome and tactical Multiplayer.
