They skydive, they kickbox, they travel through space. Is there anything these crayon-colored teens can't do? The answer seems a resounding "no," until some construction workers unwittingly open a manhole cover and loose Ivan Ooze upon Angel Grove. Although incarcerated in his egglike tomb for 6,000 years, Ooze gets right to work at that world domination thing. First up: Strip those eager teens of their morphin uniforms and associated powers and send their leader Zordon to his crystalline deathbed. There's nothing to do but head for a distant planet to meet up with a bikini-clad warrior babe who imparts ancient wisdom and power. Meanwhile, Ooze has been turning parents into zombies who craft giant metallic insects--all the better to take over the world with. This 90-minute film features some cast changes from the Fox television series, as well as better special effects and extended fight scenes, which account for the PG rating. Parents must weigh in for themselves on the famous violent-influence-or-not question. Although, like anything else, what seemed violent in 1995 may seem a bit tame today. Ages 5 and up. --Kimberly Heinrichs

Winning London

Why is it that, in such a cynical age, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen aren't more wary of a backlash against adorableness? Just when pop culture's more cantankerous hounds were harboring hopes that the preeminent pair of sugar-and-spice girls would grow into a couple of gawky teenagers, they've proved themselves more lovable than ever with Winning London. Here, they're tasked with delivering semimature subject matter--straightening out stalled romances, stifling an overactive competitive streak--but they come off as self-assured as ever. The scene is set across the pond, where Chloe and Riley (Mary-Kate and Ashley), along with other members of their high school's Model U.N. team, are strutting their strategic mock peace-bringing stuff at an international competition. While Chloe captures the heart of an upper-crust English boy, Riley sets her sights on teammate Brian, who's clueless enough to call her kiddo. After a breakdown in her budding romance, Chloe, who's accustomed to winning, learns to chill out and consider the more sporting side of competitions. This being a Mary-Kate and Ashley vehicle, shopping for schoolgirl-swanky ensembles is involved, as is boogying with the boys at hot nightspots. Sightseeing excursions to Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace, among other places, feel thrown in as educational tidbits for parents' sake; better to buy this video purely for fun--Mary-Kate and Ashley may not be known as the brainiest pair, but London aside, with this movie they'll continue to win hearts. --Tammy La Gorce

This first theatrical outing for the ubiquitous Olsen twins is their take on The Parent Trap meets The Prince and the Pauper. One plays a foster child under the care of a single social worker (Kirstie Alley) whose marital status prevents her from adopting her favorite charge. The other is the neglected daughter of a "bazillionaire" (Steve Guttenberg), who's about to marry a gold-digging socialite (played nastily by Jane Sibbett, Ross's first ex-wife on TV's Friends). The foster kid comes to a charity camp abutting the rich girl's summer estate and--presto--the identical strangers meet, hatch a plan to solve both their dilemmas, and switch identities. Directed by Andy Tennant (Ever After), this PG-rated film features some decent G-rated chemistry between Alley and Guttenberg and surprisingly uncloying performances by Mary-Kate and Ashley. The rating is for mild language. (Ages 5 and up) --Kimberly Heinrichs

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen take their antics out into the great outdoors, where they take viewers on rock-climbing expeditions, camping, butterfly wrangling, and marshmallow toasting. There are plenty of new songs, too. In a word, this is dippy as kid videos go, fixated on its little celebrities and too full of show-stopping moments. But the Olsens have their dedicated fans, and if this is a child's first exposure to the outdoors, so be it. --Tom Keogh

Adding to their woes is the new boy in town Waldo who's refined rich and also wooing Darla.Through mischief and mayhem tricks and ingenuity the rascals will learn the value of true friendship...and even an appreciation of girls!System Requirements:Running Time 83 Mins.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: CHILDREN/FAMILY Rating: PG UPC: 025192003424 Manufacturer No: 61020034
Kids may enjoy the slapstick of this modern reworking of the old Our Gang comedies, but parents who grew up watching them on TV (or grandparents who saw them at theaters) will wonder why anyone would want to be involved in this pathetic remake. Directed by Penelope Spheeris, the film takes look-alike kids and casts them as Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, and the rest, minus any sense of what made the old Hal Roach comedies funny. Instead of kids being kids, these are kids doing shtick while recycling such old bits as the He-Man Woman Haters Club, the kids' go-cart race, and Spanky and Alfalfa dressing as girls. Devoid of charm or wit. --Marshall Fine

Beastly

Beastly definitely lives up to its name--it's an absolutely beastly film--and not in a good way. It's a modern-day retelling of Beauty and the Beast based on Alex Flinn's novel Beastly, and one expects some pretty extreme characters, but in this movie, the characters are shallow and one-dimensional to the extreme, and their supposed personal and emotional growth is totally unbelievable. As for the plot--self-absorbed pretty-boy gets cursed, nice girl gets imprisoned with now-ugly boy, boy changes, and the two fall in love--it just never feels real or believable in this film. With a cast that includes Vanessa Hudgens and Neil Patrick Harris, one expects a halfway decent movie, but no amount of talent can overcome bad writing. In fact, one has to question whether Hudgens and Harris even tried, as their performances just aren't that good. The performances of Alex Pettyfer and Peter Krause are even worse, and Lisa Gay Hamilton only saves herself by her comic delivery of lines that primarily consist of two to three heavily accented monosyllables strung together at a time. The audience at our screening squirmed, laughed in inappropriate places, and even groaned out loud as the actors casually tossed off nuggets of wisdom in proper language that seemed totally out of place with the rest of the slang-riddled dialogue. Perhaps truisms like "Be the man I know you to be," lines quoted from Frank O'Hara's poem "Having a Coke," and statements like "Best embrace the suck" are supposed to come off as funny contrasts, but instead it all just seems hopelessly incongruous and falls horribly flat. The one good thing in this movie is the special-effects makeup, though Kyle's face probably looks nothing like the face that most people picture when they read Flinn's book. Don't bother seeing Beastly unless you enjoy sneering at bad, shallow movies. (Ages 13 and older) --Tami Horiuchi
Beauty and the Beast gets a "Twilight" makeover in this romantic fantasy based on the novel by Alex Flinn. When a cocky teen's bad attitude goes too far, his witch classmate gives him a lesson in humility by transforming him into a scarred, tattooed, and pierced freak. With the help of a blind tutor, he attempts to win the heart of a kindly peer so that he can return to normal--learning about the true meaning of beauty along the way. Alex Pettyfer, Vanessa Hudgens, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Neil Patrick Harris star. 86 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital 5.1; Subtitles: English (SDH); alternate ending; deleted scenes; featurettes; music video.

Here are some more information for Ashley Olsen:

Harajuku Girl - Elleai D'amore
Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Mischa Barton, Kate Moss, and now Elleai D'Amore? Is fashion intelligence the new medical degree?
Nineteen year old Elleai D'Amore (recently the center of a suicide scandal involving a 22 year old college student) with her overwhelming popularity has found herself labeled a 'Harajuku Girl' by the fashion public worlwide.
Shortly after her 16th birthday, Elleai D'Amore was booked by major model campaigns including Old Navy and Louis Vuitton to front their Summer and Winter lines. After much deliberation as to whether her height (of 5"6') was an issue, Elleai began working for high fashion designers and local swim wear brands TigerLily and Roxy. Without so much as hiccup in her success, fan blogs and websites began to emerge after Elleai's face became one of the most commercial print faces of the year, featured in BONDS campaigns and re-appearing as a feature model in teen girl magazines.
Elleai D'Amore has now been categorized with the Harajuku Girls of Tokyo, Japan, renowned for their outrageous fashion statements, but not because of the typical Harajuku tutu and wedding dress attire, but because of her fashion intelligence and personal implement in her own attire.
Fashion has never been bigger and with celebrities like the Olsen twins and Supermodel Kate Moss throwing their two cents in - Elleai D'Amore may just be the next big thing in fashion.

Help, i love the same clothes that ashley olsen wears, id love to start dressing like her at collage?
Does anyone know any sites or have seen any outfits that can help me out.
Any answers muchly appreciated.
Thanks
Her clothes are very over sized and Bohemian chic with a rather glamourous twist. Slouchy cardigans in dark slimming colors cinched at the waist is a good idea, along with high boots in dark to neutral shades. Also she wears many chunky rings on her fingers.
Search your local thrift stores for vintage pieces and such. Ashley carries around lots of oversized objects like fitted oversized jackets, long trenchcoats, oversizd sunglasses, long scarves, oversized purses and clutches. Sometimes these have nakeskin or animal fur details.
Ashley has a clothing line in The Row that you can buy from. Even if you can' afford it it will give you some ideas on what to buy.
