With 41 tracks drawn from nine record labels, the two-disc Essential Willie Nelson is impressive in its breadth. Disc one is simply superb; it begins with 1961's "Night Life," recorded for the obscure Bellaire label, and moves on to several of Nelson's early 1960s Liberty recordings, an overlooked gem recorded for Monument in 1964 ("I Never Cared for You"), a cherry-picked selection of his RCA and Atlantic sides, and finally his mid-1970s hits for Columbia (where he found his greatest chart success, beginning, in 1975, with the No. 1 single "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain"). Disc two, however, is hit-or-miss. Classics like "On the Road Again," "Pancho & Lefty," and "Nothing I Can Do About It Now" are offset by such lesser material as "To All The Girls I've Loved Before" (recorded with Latin pop star Julio Iglesias), the phoned-in "City of New Orleans," and the sounds-better-on-paper "Highwayman" collaboration with Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, and Waylon Jennings. (Just because they all made it to No. 1 doesn't make them "essential.") Nelson's two best albums of the 1990s, Across the Borderline and Teatro, are represented by a paltry two songs. The disc ends with collaborations with U2, Lee Ann Womack, and Steven Tyler and Aerosmith (the previously unreleased "One Time Too Many"). None is particularly worthy of a best-of collection. Still, while it doesn't quite live up to its billing, the Essential Willie Nelson offers an excellent career overview of one of country music's true legends. --David Hill

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS BLOOD SUGAR SEX MAGIK

With valuable assistance from producer Rick Rubin, the Peppers find just the right blend of punk, funk, and hip-hop. Even with a running time of 74 minutes, this 1991 breakthrough has continuity and cohesion both within and across the 17 cuts. Riding Flea's surging bass, Anthony Kiedis delivers his explicit lyrics with a rapper's flair, extolling the virtues (and outlining the dangers) of sex and drugs. Plaintive ballads such as "Breaking the Girl," "I Could Have Lied," and the hit "Under the Bridge" give the album depth and provide contrast to the raw energy of "Mellowship Slinky in B Major," "Funky Monks," and "Give It Away." Rubin masterfully fuses John Frusciante's raunchy guitar with the irresistible grooves. --Marc Greilsamer

Disney's 1992 animated feature is a triumph of wit and skill. The high-tech artwork and graphics look great, the characters are strong, the familiar story is nicely augmented with an interesting villain (Jafar, voiced by Jonathan Freeman), and there's an incredible hook atop the whole thing: Robin Williams's frantically hilarious vocal performance as Aladdin's genie. Even if one isn't particularly moved by the love story between the title character (Scott Weinger) and his girlfriend Jasmine (Linda Larkin), you can easily get lost in Williams's improvisational energy and the equally entertaining performances of Freeman and Gilbert Gottfried (as Jafar's parrot). --Tom Keogh

Model Behavior [VHS] Model Behavior [VHS]
List Price: $9.99
Sale Price: $28.94

Disney's Model Behavior demands a lot of most viewers. First there's the premise--that a typical tortured teenager could pull off trading places with a hot teen supermodel for a week based solely on a passing resemblance. And then there are the characters. Who's going to buy Party of Five's exceptionally pretty Maggie Lawson as class geek Alex Burrows, whose best friend lovingly describes her as a fellow dweebette? Or N Sync's Justin Timberlake as Jason Sharp, a real sweetheart of a guy who's trying to scrape together dough for grad school as the fashion industry's globetrotting pretty boy of the moment? Tweens, of course. While everybody else is putting his wallet away, kids from 8 to 13--Timberlake's gazillion girl groupies, especially--will be transfixed. This is completely wholesome stuff--Alex's parents are picture-perfect, family-values-promoting suburbanites, and even Kathie Lee Gifford, overbearing stage mom to supermodel Janine Adams (Lawson, with looser, swingier hair and no glasses), shows a softer, more considerate side by film's end. So do the scheming life swappers (surprise, surprise), who, after setting in motion a tsunami of confusion and heartbreak, work the grass-is-greener way of thinking out of their systems. The message--be yourself--is one that just might take with the sort of sweet, impressionable youths who can suspend disbelief long enough to lose themselves in this movie. --Tammy La Gorce

Homeward Bound II - Lost in San Francisco (Walt Disney Pictures Presents) [VHS] Homeward Bound II - Lost in San Francisco (Walt Disney Pictures Presents) [VHS]
List Price: $9.99
Sale Price: $1.49

This movie follows the unwritten law of sequels: bring back the same characters and put them in similar jeopardy with slightly tweaked circumstances. Instead of a cross-country journey, this time the pet trio must get from the San Francisco airport across the Golden Gate Bridge to their suburban home. Michael J. Fox and Sally Field return as the voices of Chance the bulldog and Sassy the cat, with Ralph Waite replacing the late Don Ameche as the elderly golden retriever. Their journey features dogfights, house fires, an epic battle with a pair of petnappers, and a love affair for Chance with a stray from the other side of the bridge (Carla Gugino). Sinbad voices another dog who guides them through the mean streets of the city by the bay, and Robert Hays stars as the father, but, frankly, that hardly matters. What does is the animals' banter, and they're funny. (Ages 3 and up) --Kimberly Heinrichs

One of the most frustrating problems facing any digital photographer is the inability to fit an entire group of people or breathtaking landscape scene in the picture. While you can't remove the standard Coolpix lens and replace it as you can on an interchangeable lens SLR camera, you can quickly and easily attach this accessory wide-angle lens onto the camera's built-in lens to get the results you want. The Nikon WC-E63 converter increases the wide-angle view of your lens by a magnification of 0.63x to offer enhanced coverage equivalent to that of a 24mm lens on a 35mm SLR. Both autofocus and auto-exposure functions are retained. In addition, it accepts 72mm filters thereby offering even more creative options. Matching the optical design of this accessory lens to their camera's prime lens, resulted in Nikon's creating the highest quality wide-angle lens attachment possible for the Nikon Coolpix 775, 995, 990, 950, 910, 900, 900s, 800, 880, 885, 4300 and 4500 cameras. Colombiana Colombiana
List Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $9.23

As a producer, Luc Besson (The Transporter series, Taken, District B-13) has made extremely profitable B-movie hay out of a fairly strict formula incorporating whisper-thin femme fatales, parkour, Gaultier, and guns. Colombiana, another Besson collaboration with director Olivier Megaton (Transporter 3), doesn't exactly blaze new trails, but the combination of Zoe Saldana's fierce performance and a dash of oddball surrealism sure makes the running time zoom by. Purportedly beginning as a sequel to The Professional, the story follows a beautiful South American assassin bent on rubbing out the murderers of her parents. Unfortunately, the closer she gets to her drug lord prey, the more her own loved ones (including Michael Vartan and an amusingly hambone Cliff Curtis) are put at risk. Things go boom, frequently. Director Megaton handles the action with the rapid-cut, blue-filtered zing common to the Besson factory, but things receive a definite boost via the efforts of Saldana, whose performance combines the intensely physical with an appealing soulfulness. Whether slithering through air ducts in a skin-tight cat suit or using a toothbrush as an impromptu weapon, she somehow manages to maintain an air of beyond-the-call gravitas. Also of note are the scenes of the heroine plying her lethal trade, some of which bear the funky logic-defying influence of Mario Bava's great fugue-state caper movie Danger: Diabolik. Ultimately, although the story elements and secondary character motivations rarely hang together, Colombiana's distinguishing marks help place the film somewhere above the level of guilty pleasure. When pitted against the likes of a mobster with a glass-paneled shark tank for a dance floor, reality can take a seat, frankly. --Andrew Wright

This exotic thriller from co-writer/producer Luc Besson ("La Femme Nikita") stars Zoe Saldana as the sexy and lethal Cataleya, a professional assassin aiming to secure her revenge upon those who murdered her parents when she was a child. Branding each of her victims with the lipstick-drawn image of an orchid not only alerts her enemy, but puts her in the crosshairs of authorities trying to put an end to her violent crusade. Jordi Molla, Michael Vartan co-star. 111 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, DVS Dolby Digital 5.1, French Dolby Digital 5.1; Subtitles: English (SDH), French, Spanish; featurettes.

A League of Their Own A League of Their Own
List Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $5.06

Crowd-pleasing comedy-drama with Geena Davis and Lori Petty as sisters from Oregon who become rivals when they join an all-woman's baseball league during World War II. Coaching the team is alcoholic former player Tom Hanks, and also on his team are the flirtatious Madonna and brassy Rosie O'Donnell. Jon Lovitz and Garry Marshall also star; Penny Marshall directs. 127 min. Widescreen; Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, French Dolby Digital Surround, Spanish Dolby Digital Surround; Subtitles: Korean, Spanish.

Penny Marshall's popular 1992 comedy sheds light on a little-known chapter of American sports history with its story of a struggling team in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. The league was formed when the recruiting of soldiers during World War II resulted in a shortage of men's baseball teams. The AAGPBL continued after the war (until 1954), and Marshall's movie depicts the league in full swing, beginning when a savvy baseball scout (Jon Lovitz) finds a pair of promising new players in small-town Oregonian sisters (Geena Davis, Lori Petty). The sisters are signed to play for the Rockford Peaches near Chicago, whose new manager (Tom Hanks) is a former home-run king who wrecked his career with alcoholism. They're all a bunch of underdogs, and Marshall (with a witty script by Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel) does a fine job of establishing a colorful team of supporting players including Madonna and (in her movie debut) Rosie O'Donnell. It's a conventional Hollywood sports story (Marshall's never been one to take dramatic risks), but the stellar cast is delightful, and the movie's filled with memorable moments, witty dialogue, and agreeable sentiment. And just remember: there's no crying in baseball! --Jeff Shannon

One of the most endearing jewelry pieces you could ever purchase or receive is a locket because it is an intimate form of sentiment. I wondered about the very first locket design and how it came about. Did the craftsmen have a love and want to express it through his craft? Was he commissioned to make one for a person of royalty?

Did someone envision a personal way to keep their love close to their heart and describe the design to an artisan? A locket opens to reveal a special place to put photos or a small lock of hair. It can be associated with the Victorian age that was from 1837-1901. Jewelry lockets are crafted in sterling silver and gold and come in the shapes of ovals, circles, rectangles, and the popular heart shape. I believe the sentiment behind lockets has a pull on the heart strings today just as it did then.

Beautiful lockets have been captured in many story lines of books and movies. The Little Princess has Sarah (played by Shirley Temple) owning a treasured locket with a photo of her mother who had passed away. We the audience become outraged when the owner of the boarding school takes it from the believed to be orphaned girl. In the American Girl books, Samantha who lives in Victorian times owns a special locket. In the Love Comes Softly novels by Janette Oke, a locket is passed from one family member to another. The romantic and legacy minded people easily relate to those with an endearing locket story because this special jewelry piece makes a strong heart connection.

From little girls to grown women we are thrilled to receive a locket especially if it is from a dear loved one. I remember my first locket was from a close school chum when I was in eighth grade. We loved jewelry and were at the mall and went in Bailey Banks and Biddle. They had small 10K gold lockets in their sales case marked on clearance. We bought each other a locket and proudly placed them on chains. Same idea as the best friend charms girls give each other today. We never put photos in our lockets but we enjoyed wearing them and thinking of our friendship. I still have the tiny locket in my jewelry box and fond memories. Lockets can also be given to another to remember a loved one who has passed on. Jewelry can be very comforting and help link us to our past.

Jewelry lockets made from gold or sterling silver are treasured pieces. Sterling silver lockets are more affordable than gold and can be simply elegant with the detailed silver craftsmanship. I hope I inspired you to purchase a locket for your little girl, for a dear friend, or for the love of your life. It is extra thoughtful and sweet to enclose a photo in the locket so they can open it and see you or that special someone anytime their heart desires.

Ann Fiducci is the owner of Abundant Trove where we custom craft unique jewelry designs. Our sterling silver lockets are decorative and affordable. We love sentimental jewelry and hope you discover a treasure to call your very own.

Buying a Home in Los Angeles From Abroad

Dreaming of the Hollywood lifestyle? Of running into populare Hollywood celebrities in malls and restaurants? Of living right at the vicinity of Sunset Boulevard and of Santa Monica beach? Well, here's the good news. You need not be in California or in the United States for that matter to be able to buy and own a home in Los Angeles!

Most people would definitely say that now is a good time to buy your dream home. As the old adage goes, one's misfortune is another's good luck. With the financial crunch, property value is lower than expected. Enticing interest and mortgage rates are likewise being offered.More and more homes are lining up towards foreclosure and a good number of homeowners opting to sell, you may be able to get that dream home at a price that fits your budget perfectly.

If you live abroad and you are out to take advantage of the crisis and go bargain hunting for amazing property, now is the time. It does not really matter whether you are in the United States or abroad. There are several real estate agents who are willing and ready to assist you in your home purchase. What's even better news is that you can access them online!

Many property websites will give you basic real estate information. More popular Los Angeles home purchases include condos, townhouses and stand alone homes with big front lawns and backyards located near west Hollywood Hills. The sprawling active city of Los Angeles also give home buyers options of which neighborhoods to live in, whether in downtown Los Angeles or in the more high end and posh communities of Hollywood and Orange County.

The internet has allowed several agents to advertise, handle consultations and give sound property advice to interested homeowners online. Many websites do not only give property details, location and photos of homes, condominums and real estate finds, they can even give you initial mortgage estimates and computations, as well as provide you with a list of eligibility requirements if you are a foreigner interested in purchasing property in Los Angeles.

Most of the time, aside from the usual legal documents and verification, a substantial downpayment would be required if you are a foreigner or if you are not a United States citizen. They will also give you initial information on taxes and other government fines and penalties that you may need to pay upon purchase.

Of course, while you may be able to successfully make the initial transactions online, it is always to your best interest to see the property for yourself. check whether you are indeed purchasing a property that fits your needs as well as that of your family. Schedule a visit to your prospect property. That way you will know that you are indeed making an excellent purchase for your dream home. I wish you the very best of luck finding your next dream home. It is one of the best feelings in the world and you will never regret your decision of buying your next dream home in LA!

Can you debunk this "angel photo"?

http://www.angelsghosts.com/motion_sensor_angel_picture.html
To me it looks like a woman waving her arms.
Jonquill....I keep trying to give you a BA ....but you just won't let me. lol

Having worked with photography before (I spent about 8 years in publishing) I can say conclusively that this is a multiple exposure. The blurring isn't actually a blurring, it's a double image or more.

Not knowing more about the situation or the equipment used, this is the "best guess" as to what happened: in mechanical cameras (which still use film and thus require a set of gears to advance it to the next frame), failure of the gears to "catch" can result if the camera is jarred or if heat, moisture, etc., become an issue inside of the enclosure (and cameras used in hunting blinds are indeed enclosed).

Additionally, such issues can be temporary in nature, and so a single image could appear on one roll of film.

There are lots of explanations that could be offered, but there just isn't enough data presented on the conditions in order to be able to conclude anything much.

What I can conclude is that the image on the camera is definitely multiple exposure because of the way in which things are blurred.
