Cats Don't Dance is typical fare: a dancing cat who wants to be a Hollywood star circa 1939. Of course, animals only play animal roles in the movies, but our hero Danny (a cat) won't accept that as an answer. Plenty of big laughs for adults here, but there are also some wonderful characters including the bratty baby starlet Darla Dimple (Shirley Temple meets Baby Herman) and her Schwarzenegger-type bodyguard Max. There's also a jittery hippo, a cute penguin, and a keen elephant who helps Danny fulfill his dream and land the girl--err, cat. Randy Newman's songs are just as inspired as the film: a pleasant, kid-friendly picture with lots to satisfy the older crowd as well. --Doug Thomas

Across the Universe (Two-Disc Special Edition)

Set in America during the Vietnam War, Across the Universe is a powerful love story set against a backdrop of political and social unrest: it's a story of soul-searching, self-doubt, and individual powerlessness cleverly conveyed through a multitude of Beatles songs. Like young adults all across America during the 1960's, Jude (Jim Sturgess), Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood), Max (Joe Anderson), Sadie (Dana Fuchs), Prudence (T.V. Carpio), and JoJo (Martin Luther) are in turmoil over the war; questioning their individual roles in the war effort and struggling to find a way to hold true to their beliefs while making a difference in the world. While love proves a powerful uniting force, its limitations become clear as relationships are strained and broken over individual perceptions of responsibility to cause and country. A fairly bizarre juxtaposition of extremely stylized, almost hallucinogenic scenes of swirling colors and reflections, highly choreographed dance segments, seemingly commonplace character interaction, and emotionally packed close-up footage of characters lost in contemplative song, this film imparts a good sense of the confusion and passion of the time and is at once powerful, invigorating, and disturbing. The film runs a bit long at 2-hours 11-minutes and several segments drag noticeably thanks to some incredibly slow song tempos. Warning: this production may change how you think about a favorite Beatles song forever. --Tami Horiuchi Beyond Across the Universe On Blu-ray The Deluxe Soundtrack Beatles audio CD Stills from Across the Universe (click for larger image)
Across the Universe from director Julie Taymor is a revolutionary rock musical that re-imagines America in the turbulent late-1960s a time when battle lines were being drawn at home and abroad. When young dockworker Jude (Jim Sturgess) leaves Liverpool to find his estranged father in America he is swept up by the waves of change that are re-shaping the nation. Jude falls in love with Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood) a rich but sheltered American girl who joins the growing anti-war movement in New York s Greenwich Village. As the body count in Vietnam rises political tensions at home spiral out of control and the star-crossed lovers find themselves in a psychedelic world gone mad. With a cameo by Bono Across the Universe is the kind of movie you watch again like listening to a favorite album. Touched by an Angel - The Second Season
List Price: $16.99
Sale Price: $9.85

Touched by an Angel swiftly amassed a devout following, drawn to the TV series' clear Christian values and the warm performances of Roma Downey (she of the creamy complexion and lush pre-Raphaelite hair) and Della Reese as Monica and Tess, two angels sent to help troubled human beings. The first season had the additional virtue of exploring the ordinary yet complex emotional problems of troubled marriages, rebellious teens, and coping with the death of a loved one, in stories that were (with a few exceptions) cleanly written and down-to-earth--though, of course, everything was resolved by divine intervention. The second season, regrettably, dives into melodrama: A pregnant woman is trapped in a bank vault after her husband tries to rob the bank; a lawyer meets up with an old girlfriend, not knowing that her wicked ambitions caused his best friend to commit suicide; a postal worker sends atheistic replies to children's letters to God--and it turns out that he's an Auschwitz survivor. Even episodes grappling with what could be compelling material, like a stripper who feels responsible for her daughter's birth defect, get pushed over the top when Tess saves the day by creating a hot air balloon out of thin air. Certainly, God can accomplish miracles, but the second season of Touched by an Angel loses sight of his subtlety and mysterious ways. Nonetheless, fans will continue to take comfort in the show's message about divine love. Episodes feature a wide range of guest stars: Movie actors like Elliott Gould (M*A*S*H) and Stacy Keach (Fat City); old television hands like Hal Linden (Barney Miller) and Cindy Williams (Laverne & Shirley); non-actors like poet Maya Angelou and singer Natalie Cole; and such, well, lesser celebrities as Kathie Lee Gifford (Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.) John Dye joins the series in this season as Andrew, a handsome angel of death. --Bret Fetzer
All 22 episodes from season two--including "Interview with an Angel," "The One That Got Away," "Jacob's Ladder," "Lost and Found," and "Statute of Limitations"--are featured in a six-disc set. 17 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital stereo, Spanish Dolby Digital stereo. **22 episodes on 6 discs. 17 hrs.**

Here are some more information for Anderson Cole:

Safe Surrender Site Incorporated Needs your Pledge
Safe Surrender Site Incorporated has been doing quite a lot of work This Year. We’ve spent over 58,000 dollars of our personal money to travel across the country to spend time with various legislatures in several States to lobby and push for better policies in place to not only implement the current laws which have taken a very slow turn to even get them down to the county levels, but to allow better methods and those with the knowledge and means to get things moving.
This has taken a strenuous toll on everyone financially and with time. We have not had the time to respond to many folks who wish to volunteer. One problem is when we do offer them to work; they just seem to fade away and no longer respond. Offering to help and be a part of non-profit organizations is a noble deed, but we understand it’s not for everyone. So, we don’t have that much time to respond like we want to. The second problem is most volunteers want to do it their way and not follow instructions as to how it truly needs to be addressed and carefully attended to because the nature of this organization and what we do with infant human beings. As a fellow professional I’m quite sure you understand my concern and steadfastness.
Till this day, there has not been one single donation to us except for Kathryn Anderson who had decided to pay our final bill in getting this system up and running. We owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to her and for her generous gift without exception so that we can go live. Since then, we have responded to numerous TV inquires, Radio Talk Shows and even a producer who wishes to produce a film about what we do on this important subject.
We don’t work on a salary, no one does…it is of our time that we give including our very own money because we are driven to see that new-born infants are not found in trash cans or dumped somewhere left to die. Most of us have our own jobs we attend to every week. Many of us have personally experienced in many ways directly and in-directly of an infant being abandoned which has caused us to respond and do what we do.
We need your help! We need to raise money and we need it very soon. We have to continue to research and find out all the official designated sites around the country that are actually trained and officiated to handle baby drop-offs. Many people think that just because their State has a law, all fire departments and hospitals can take them in. This is wrong! They have to have training and be certified. Most don’t even know where to go or who to turn to because the State legislators have dropped it into the hands of local county governments and it’s up to them to spend and vote on allowing this to be apart of their system. Most are actually in the dark about this.
This is where we come in. We can help them; we can even get them training and what they need to do this. However, it takes time, time cost and it cost a lot of money. We need to update and even upgrade our system to be able to allow anyone from anywhere to search and find the correct location and allow them to find it and go to it when they need to. So far, we have been effective in several ways and we have benefited by women who have used it, contacted us and because of this, we have helped them. The stories we have are some that are cause for crying tears of joy because when you hear the words come out of a mother’s mouth and how scared she is…it breaks your heart! There is so much information we can provide and help them with, but we can’t do it alone.
We need your help! We need your generous donation today! Even if it’s just one dollar, we can and we will use it. We are starting to offer those who would be generous to post their personal and business information on our site to show everyone who you are and what you have done. Here is what we will do.
1. Anyone who donates any amount over one dollar will get their name posted on our donation page. Just your name.
2. Anyone who donates $100.00 or more will have your name and title of where you work.
3. Gold Status – Anyone who donates $2,500.00 or more will have their name and personal information that would be a business or other posted address and title.
4. Platinum Status – Anyone who donates $5,000.00 or more will have their name and person information that would be business or other posted including being closer to the main page and with links to URL’s.
5. Diamond Status – Anyone who donates $10,000.00 or more will have their information posted any way they like, including URL Links, and banner and logo information and with personal picture.
We are in need of raising $250,000.00 dollars to continue and reach our goal of being nationwide and completing our task. Our efforts need to continue and our need is currently at desperate stage. Together we can make a difference and we can see this through to completion. Will you help us? Thank you!
Sincerely,
Samuel Anderson

do starr (kristen anderson ) and cole (brandon buddy ) from one live to live date in real life?
cause it seems like they have a lot chemistry
Nope. Kristen Alderson commented sometime last year that Brandon Buddy wasn't in her crowd, because he was so much older than her and her peers. I think there was a high school dance coming up, and somebody asked her if Brandon Buddy would be attending. Unless I'm wrong, that's when she said that Brandon would likely be doing something else, because of the age thing. She was planning to ask another boy her age who she had grown up with.
